Always love the Kessler. They bring the best music acts around Dallas. Intimate venue to see and hear great music. COVID has changed things up a bit but still great.

This is a wonderful venue. The way it is set up makes every event very personal, intimate and cozy. You will be close enough to get the artist sweat on you!. Even the balcony is perfect for viewing any show. The bartender made some great drinks. There are lots of great restaurants really close by to dine before or after your experience. Wish the bathrooms were bigger but that is the only negative. Look them up and give this place a definite try. You wont be disappointed.

Not just the best place to see a show in Oak Cliff...but in all of Dallas!!! Intimate with unbelievable sound (oh yeah and a great bar). Kessler brings in the best talent around - some you’ve heard of but many you have not (those are the gems that will keep you coming back here)...not a bad seat in the house but if you can score one of the two suites do it.

This is one of the finest small theaters I have ever been in. The staff is incredibly friendly and the configuration for the show I attended allowed for tables close the stage, seating behind them and then the real gem, the reserved upper level. The small balcony with one comfortable chair angled perfectly (they move) allows for an unobstructed view of the stage, along with a private bar and bathrooms. What you go to a concert for is the sound, and it is an acoustically wonderful space. If you see an artist you enjoy come to this venue, see them. You will not be disappointed. A first class venue all around.

This was my first time at the Kessler and it was awesome. I loved the venue and I go to a lot of shows. It’s well run, the drinks are great, and the bar is easily accessible. Two entrances from the bar area to the venue space make it easy to come and go. The ladies room was clean and well stocked of supplies.

This former movie theater is now an ideal venue for local, national or global musical acts. Ive attended about a dozen events here, and other than one act with a bass player so loud I had to listen from the bar, each experience has been very satisfying. A top-notch facility and a staff that truly cares about its clientele make this a venue I am eager to re-visit.

The Kessler is a true gem. So cozy and inviting. The kitchen is no less spectacular than the theater itself (they make lip-licking good tamales) and the staff is always courteous and friendly. The theater is a wonderfully renovated space that accommodates large crowds with a balcony that makes every seat feel front row. Truly a top notch venue. I love to frequent it and always look forward to going back.

Love this venue for shows. Went to our third concert here last night - the venue seems so intimate. It has great acoustics and you truly feel like youre seeing a show performed in your own living room. The bar setup is great, and it is easy to navigate back and forth during the show as needed. The atmosphere is so laid back and comfortable. Looking forward to more shows.

The sound was great and I felt like it was a cozy venue for the singer/songwriter show that we saw. They werent serving dinner that night so we got something at a different cheese shop down the road and then stopped at Nova for an appetizer. All in all though I wouldnt hesitate going back there. The front lobby was nice decor with white leather couches and a cool looking bar.

Saw the Paper Kites for a sold out show! Was a great aesthetic, the in-house sound tech controlled the volume and mix very well! Very few moments where it felt too loud! It did get pretty warm once all the bodies were in the room, but besides that had a great time. One of my favorite venues Ive been to.

I love the Kessler Theatre!!! So fun to be able to hear great live music in such an intimate setting. If the setup for the show includes the 4 top tables, I would highly recommend getting a table. You will get to be super close to the stage. Sound is great and so are the cocktails.

The Kessler Theater is a fantastic venue. It is immaculatuly clean. (No nasty restrooms!!). It has two bars. Along the sides upstairs is lined with a single row of comfortable high backed seats with a get view of the stage. Down stairs has ~18 round tables that sit four upfront near the stage. Behind these tables are several rows of seats. The Kessler has several little nooks with comfortable seating as well.

Lovely 60s vibe. They had a few tables set up, and it wasnt crowded. Music quality was superb, but relies on talented musicians...would be easy to create a near endless reverb. Also, they had part of sidewalk roped off, so was neat to sip a beer and feel like you were out in the city-ish.

Not a large venue but not tiny either. Intimate feel. Subdued lighting. Great, great acoustics. Sounds like youre listening through headphones. Great line of site on the floor of upstairs in the U-shaped balcony. One bar downstairs and one upstairs. Bathrooms downstairs only though. Eclectic acts and events. Stylish place. Old school marquee out front. Parking around the theater and walking distance in the nearby neighborhood. Love this place.

This place is magic! Wear comfy shoes, because its basically standing room only. There are some seats downstairs and upstairs, but at least the ones downstairs are just first come, first grab kinda thing. Next time will need to acquire an upstairs seat. The location is easy to find and in a cool neighborhood. The door guy was super friendly and recommended an excellent place to eat before the show. Just no complaints! Oh! And at least at the show we were at there was free water, which is awesome because I dont drink a lot of alcohol, so it was cool to get to have something for free. Clean bathrooms, clean venue, safe venue, easy to locate venue, cool neighborhood, nice venue staff, go check em out!

Review №69

One of the worst live music venues I have ever been to. It might be great when the place is half empty, because what they consider a sold out show is about twice as many people as it should be. The stage is super low and the floor is flat, so at about 20 feet, you can only see the tops of the performers heads. They pack the room wall to wall, with about two people for every square foot of standing room, and standing room is all they have to offer. Cool old building, but extremely poorly laid out. I would never recommend anyone go see a show there.

Once inside, the theater itself is fabulous. What I disliked was denied access to handicapped parking in the back of the building.Upon approach it was noted accessible parking was unoccupied. However, it was also noted both vehicles and traffic cones blocked the entrance to the parking area. When asked if we could access a handicapped parking space, one of the three young men at the back door said, no maam, this is the productions parking area. Several attempts to call the theater went unanswered. We would have been forced to forfeit our tickets if a space by the door had not come available. There are several upcoming events we would like to attend but not knowing if accessible parking will be available is a definite deterrent.
