Nice arena overall. The sound is really good quality. The lawn is the lawn. I don’t like sitting there. The VIP section is the best place to see a show at Dos Equis Pavilion. The food is not great, or even close. But the beer is cold. Parking isn’t very good, and this place is in a rough area. I’ve been here many times over the years. But I’ve never once had a problem. I recommend seeing concerts here for sure.
A few quick details: (1) getting in and out by car or on foot is very difficult. Very long parking lot lines and city traffic congestion make arriving early a necessity. Once at the gates the security lines moved pretty fast, however. Security agents were friendly, as were all of the staff we encountered. The venue itself is just fine. There are many places for food and beverages, even at the top of the lawn on the hill. The food is okay, what youd expect from such a place. $17 for a 20-ounce craft beer is pretty steep, however. $7 for a bottle of water. Ouch.Restrooms are plentiful and the lines were not long. The sound was pretty good, too, even from the back of the lawn.On the negative side, there is nothing else in the neighborhood, however, if you want to walk to a bar after the show. You can walk 20 minutes through parking lots and along streets with no sidewalks and get to the excellent Craft & Growler on Perry at the other end of Fair Park.
Parking is a bit of an adventure, but otherwise, this is a great, smaller venue for music... The seats were padded and wide enough... The sound system was epic, as you could feel the bass rippling through your body, and theres not a bad seat in the house for sound... Refreshments, food and restrooms were abundant, even if the lines were long for the latter. A good time was had by all!
We went all out for BFD to celebrate several holidays and my husbands birthday all in one. We sat 101, row A dead center and the view was perfect. I recommend upgrading anything that you can afford to. We had the ultra VIP parking, which saved us hours getting in and out of the venue. It comes with fast pass entry for up to 8 people. The VIP Lounge is also very nice. Not much food there to choose from, but they will deliver food from the booths to you. We grabbed some chicken fried brisket sandwiches from Tim Loves booth and they were the best thing Ive ever put in my mouth.
I’ve been here several times this summer for some concerts. It gets HOT in the venue for sure, but the people that work here are amazing and the bands always have a way of making everyone feel connected and close to the stage. The prices for drinks are insanely high in my opinion. But I think that’s pretty much par for the course for concert venues. I’d give it 5 stars if they could come up with a way of either adding more fans or something for the hot summer months.
Had a great time watching the Doobie Brothers with Santana. We were in the grassy area on lawn chairs with about 30 minutes before the show started and it started raining. Got pretty soaked. But it was still a lot of fun.
It had been over 15 years since I visited this venue and it has changed the name several times. But, I was pleasantly surprised. I had a great time and the upgrades are nice. I was also reminded of the great time we used to have there. We will be back!
Went to a concert at this venue and loved it. The venue is very nice, the staff was extremely helpful with any questions we had, and the place was really clean the entire day. Lots of space even outside the actual concert seating area and lots of vendors to get drinks and food. The only downsides are the prices of food and drink, which is to be expected at a venue like this.Even the bathrooms were plentiful and you didnt have to wait long at all to get a stall at the womens bathroom. All in all, really nice place to see some great bands!
Went for the dinosaur experience. Drive thru with full audio on your phone to radio. Great outing for the kids!!
Plenty of parking, well kept ant free lawn area, good views from wherever you may be sitting. No huge delays or hassles from police presence but there are safety measures in place.Getting OUT of parking lot a different story if its a large event! Must be patient. Like sit there an extra hour patient.
The concert best ever! Bad Company, ZZTOP & Cheap Trick. Getting to Pavilion was terribly congested. No signage around parking lot indicating they had 12 lines at entrance. The REASON FOR TWO STARs, the guy scanned my phone ticket that I had previously posted to re-sale. He acted like he corrected it, but after I got to seat and sat down I checked my account and sure enough he scanned my ticket that I re-listed for sale.($99.50 + $17.00) EXTRA! No place to charge phone. (You have to show your phone ticket everytime you get up). Need a bracelet system or something. I dont drink alcohol but $10.00 for 2 small waters they made a ton of money!!! I will say on a positive note, the food smelled good, they had a variety/types of alcohol. Leaving the Pavilion was faster than getting in. @dosequispavillion, @livenation, I need a refund and you need to train your entry gate people! @Google fix your glitch, the comments keep going back up to top line. @ZZTOP 50thAnniversarry show, you killed it! Stillgotit!! @bad company&cheap trick loved you all then and still loving it!!!!
Saw Under oath, Alice in Chains, and Korn. Great show. 5/5As for the venue, difficult to get out of. They need to improve traffic control.EVERYTHING is overpriced. You can bring in one water bottle of its unopened, but beyond that, be prepared to spend a good bit for it.
This place is amazing. Concessions are obviously pricey, but still make for a great experience. Great concert venue!
This is a great venue if youre looking to spend time outside. There are lots of amenities, shopping opportunities, and can accommodate for the crowd. We sat in a club box and could see perfectly! Club boxes have service from a staff member, so we didnt really have to leave the box for much.
Train and the googoo Dolls live. What an amazing performance they gave. Cant wait to go to collective soul
Nice venue. Sound is better under the pavilion. Lawn is ok though. Tailgate. A beer is way too expensive.
Great venue, never had any issues. Just prepare for the sun if needed and enjoy.
This review is for the State Fair. There is a place that specializes in funnel cake. Its cheaper than the others and they offer ice cream topping, chocolate, strawberry and others for the same price as regular ones without the toppings. I dont know the name but it was a special location.
I love this place! Great place for concerts. Sit in the front under covered areas and large fans or sit in the lawn and hang out with friends. Theres so much food options on the left and right side of the stage. And an app to deliver the food out to you. The sound quality has never let me down and they have specials at guest service for future shows. Theres tons of parking since its connected to the Fair Grounds. Only down fall? Bathroom lines are always WAY too long. Oh and its in a shady area. Tons of people selling things and parking. Just be careful.
Large venue and flexible on what you can bring in as far as chairs, backpacks, coolers etc. Check out the website for full list.
Great venue I have been there 2 times plan on going back. It is affordable, parking is included on the tickets, able to bring water and snacks in with you. Everywhere there has a great view of the stage even on the lawn.
WOW,if you ever have the chance to come here for a concert, this Pavillion is a great choice.I had the best time by myself, until i met a very cool family from Dallas, made it even better for me. (I LOVE this Pavillion) easy to find & free parking, cool staff. Me being from New Orleans, visiting the family here for a month, this was my pick to enjoy my day Aug 12 18.I saw this concert, Godsmack,Shinedown & Like a Storm,3 of my favs, bought lawn ticket, with the weather being unsure of rain, got there went to the box office to ask about an upgrade to seat, the woman working was very nice & helpful,(she said to use the lawn ticket to get in,upgrade with the man under the blue tent on the left) he also was very nice. Everything from opening the app, purchasing mobile ticket to upgrade was smooth & simple...5s everything but the high priced consessions. Can u give us a price break
I love this venue as Im a big fan of outdoor spaces. I like the varying options in ticketing/seating. GA, seats, Boxes, open grass, and dig the additional options for the Club or cabanas. Will definitely be back to see another show.
Great venue! Good sound good people. Very fun place to see any of your favorite bands. Not overly aggressive even for the family. Im been to 3 shows now, all rock based and theyve been fantastic. If youre a fan of any opening act though make sure youre extra early, they keep a tight schedule. RockNRolla!
Fantastic sound. Good food options. Super nice bathrooms. Very organized.
Watched Ozzy and Stone Sour here. There was plenty of free parking. The walk from the venue to where we parked took less than 5 minutes. The venue itself is amazing.
This place is always a good time. The lawn is where I have sat and it is first come first serve. We have brought blankets each time to his our spot. There are plenty of screens in addition to a decent elevated view of the stage. There are tons of places to get food/drink so the lines are never too long (same goes for the restrooms). Parking was free - I didnt expect that so I bought VIP parking on the way then couldnt find the VIP lot. It does take a good while to get out of the lot after the even, so I suggest tailgating until the crowd dissipates.
I had a blast!! Breaking Benjamin gave an outstanding performance I absolutely loved everything they did!! It was easy and fast to get in but I would recommend eating before you get there and get there early. I had a burger with fries and it was not very good. It was dry and had been sitting there for a while. Some people just went around and took other peoples seats which is always better to get there before the show starts. I also didnt like that security didnt keep track of the people going in the aisles. One guy that was drunk showed up out of nowhere, started banging on the seats and making us (people around him) very uncomfortable. It took maybe 30 mins or so until they removed him. Also, after the show was over, it was slow to get out of the parking lot. Overall I had so much fun!!
Cool outdoor venue. The line to get in was incredibly long but it moved surprisingly fast. We didn’t have to pay anything for parking so that was a nice surprise. The pit wasn’t very full either so we had a great view of the stage. Great concert experience.
Sound is good and you have a good view of the stage from anywhere. The drinks and food are pretty expensive, a tall beer being $15 and a 24oz margarita being $25. Water runs at $5 for small and $7 large. There are a lot of food and drink options if price doesnt bother you. Bathrooms form lines quick, even for men, and it gets much hotter in the seated area than on the lawn. We were lucky it was a cool 94° that day.
Amazing venue, staff friendly and helpful. Had a great time. Food and beverages good and average prices.
Went to an Allen Stone, Goo Goo Dolls, and Train concert here, venue is outside although there are some covered seating options if you dont want to sit on the lawn. Very enjoyable atmosphere.
Went to see Chris Brown and had a blast! This was my second time here for a concert. Ive been in the seats and the lawn, and both have their perks. Just remember to bring a small umbrella for the lawn because its hot! Also, the prices for everything (especially food) are super high! But overall, the staff is nice, and Ill definitely be back in the future.
Getting into the area and parking is a bit of a pain but if you arrive well before the event it was not bad. Security was very disorganized with security personnel shouting instructions on which line is for big bags, no bags etc. Very disorganized but not extremely slow. Same with chair rentals. Very disorganized. They do this for every event right. Why so bad? The view from the grass was good if you get there early enough to find a good spot not behind a pillar or so far away that you cant see. They only have two side screens so again you have to find a location that you can see from. The sound quality was very very good. I was actually very impressed. Bathrooms... Again they do this all the time. Why why why!!!! Huge lines. Stupid. Then leaving. Well.. getting people out was fast but then there is the parking lots. Dont they have events there all the time. It was over an hour before we could even move the car. Seriously folks. Almost all the problem was within fair park, totally under their control. They need to seriously address some of these issues.
Theres not a bad seat anywhere. Lawn seating is all weve ever had but this last time, we did the Cabana tickets also. Private concessions and private bathroom so skipping the long lines was well worth the extra in ticket pricing. There are 1st come availability sofas in these gated off areas. Multiple cabanas are set up throughout the lawn seated area.
Impossible to talk with the costumer service. The website doesnt have all the possible services, is a real nightmare to talk with them. Im completely regret with this company.
Concerts great venue giant displays so everyone can see. Great audio. Food and swag overpriced as expected.
The events are fun but this place can be crazy hard to get into depending on the event. Instead of directing traffic they block off multiple entrances and can be very frustrating but its a big venue so there are a lot of cool things that take place down there.
Watched Alice & Chains on Sunday 21, 2019 . Great concert and a nice venue . Outside, so may be a bit warm on summer . Great venue & good sound .
The lawn is nice and soft and great to lay on, not super difficult to navigate but if I have a complaint is about the people that leave trash like a raging sea. I would suggest more visible trashcans/recycle bins and may be some reminders. Overall awesome
Tickets often go on sale for very cheap and every show is always a memorable experience
Great venue. Definitely recommend getting ViP lounge. A/C and nicer bathrooms make a hot evening more tolerable.Saw Spoon, Cage the Elephant and Beck.Upgraded to under the roof. Far too loud to understand. Yes Im old but love good sound. Would sit on lawn next time just to get back from overdriven speakers. The staff were wonderful and we felt very safe.
The pavillion was really nice and it was nice to have free parking. What I did not like was how hot it was! In 103° weather I felt water either should have been free or discounted. The fans in the ceiling did nothing and people were passing out left and right. When I say people were sweating just by sitting in the chair and not moving!!!! Its a problem. At that point it becomes a health and safety concern. Since pavillion is outdoors even my seats that were on the indoor still had sun exposure. We all looked like we went to the pool to go swim (not exaggerating). Chris Brown was even sweating like no other. Seats: Section 204 Row SThey also need people directing traffic at the end of the concert. Concert ended at 1035ish didnt get out of the parking lot until 1140pm.
Venue was easy to get in and out of. Food was pretty terrible. Drinks are crazy expensive (even water). The acoustics are kinda terrible inside the arena. Out in the lawn its better... Bit it was difficult to make out what the artists were singing at times because of the poor acoustics inside. The screens are a nice touch, seating is ok but a bit cramped. Lawn was actually pretty nice... And I would have preferred sitting there to the seats we had. (Better sound and more airflow). They need some kind of fan system to push air through the inside... Its way too stuffy.
Love seeing bands here!! Open lawn!!
I had ana amazing experience, the Dos Equis hosted Dan+Shay, Morgan Wallen, & Florida Georgia Line. It was an amazing to see these bands, and it has free parking!
Great concert venue. Choice of lawn or covered seats. Either way cant go wrong!
So glad we got seats rather than lawn since it started pouring. Always happy when we can go see DMB play!
This is a great Venue! Canadians from Toronto first time in Dallas. Dos equis had reasonably priced food and drinks! The music was amazing!! I had the best time ever and people were really friendly! I also liked that it didnt stink of weed or cigarettes. Thank you Dos Equis!- Fancy Margarita slushy - 30$ with extra shot- Pizza 9$ - good flavor, bit thin- chicken fingers and fries - Dope! 12$- pogo - was ok 8$- Dos-a-Rita - Dos equis beer with margarita funnel ontop 25$Cabs to or from the Westin about 15 ish
Its a decent venue, but the acoustics are not great. Also, an outdoor concert in Dallas summer is hot. Really hot when you pack in all the fans. Ill go back if I want to see the band, but I dont look forward to it.
BFD 2019 What a great time, will do it again!
Like the venue but it wasnt a sold out show so consider this. Drinks and food was expensive.
A mediocre concert venue. The acoustics of which are dated. However it books good bands. Parking is easy and distances are reasonable. Most seating under the pavilion provides a good view.
Great venue for a concert!! The staff was great and very laid-back. They allowed me and my girlfriend in with a soft cooler with food and water. The show was great! ( Ozzy ) Great sound and we sat on the lawn, not a bad seat in the whole place. We drove from the Woodlands because it was sold out at the pavilion. We couldnt have asked for it to be better. Thank you Dallas!!
Really nice venue! The giant fans from the ceiling made it feel nice and comfortable even though it was 95 degrees! Good food, beer and other alcohol selection, good sound quality and view from anywhere.
Air conditioning, food, and drink are refreshing. Also, the pavilion is safe with all the police officers going in and out of here. Music is a little loud. But its good.
Nice venue, had a great time. The only issue I had was that there is a lot of echoing happening with the music played, which can put a damper on the listening experience. All in all, a really cool venue for concerts.
We were visiting from Houston. This venue is really nice. The bathroom lines moved quickly as the staff directed people. Drinks were decently priced and no lines for beer or foodRecommend you take an Uber if possible.
Great venue. You get what you came for... A great time!!
The tickets are cheap and the sound system reasonable enough. But there are many downsides which I am going to go through below:- Drinks start at $14, no outside beverages allowed (depending on how thorough the security line you get put in is). Ive attached a photo of the drinks menu.- Everyone smokes, forget about going here if you have even mild asthma. Its also just smelly for everyone else.- Concession vendors walk through the lawn section during the concert shouting about whatever overpriced beer they have, occasionally distracting from the concert itself.-Parking is free, this is good BUT once you park youll be hounded by golf carts and pedal-taxis to take you to the actual venue itself for $5 per person. The walk is literally less than 5 minutes.-Security is really inconsistent. Sometimes theyll stop you from bringing a blanket, sometimes they wont. We carried a blanket over our shoulder in successfully but the people in the line next to ours didnt (most of the lines seemed to be much more thorough than our experience, but that doesnt stop people from hiding things). People seem to have a much easier time bringing in flasks, marijuana, cigarettes, etc all of which arent allowed either obviously. The tickets are cheap, but the experience is fairly confusing and hectic if youre just going for the music.
This venue has covered pavilion with seats. Back lawn area behind is great for families. Can see stage from anywhere. Do not have to look over people. Wife and I attend concerts here often. Bars and drinks everywhere and vendors serving. Easy in, easy out.
Always enjoyed seeing live music here. The food and beer are expensive as to be expected. Not much shade on a hot summer day either. It’s nice that they will allow you to bring in water and blankets for most shows.
Went with my best friend and love of my life to see FFDP
I have been going to this place for over 20 years and every time is fantastic. We tailgate in the same spot every time, theres never been any issues and always have a blast!
Large enough venue to fit everybody, easy place to find and clean bathrooms.
Always a good time! Plenty of seating. Lawn seats are on the ground. Being a blanket or chairs (or rent chairs there). Lawn is on a hill so everyone can see the stage. Food and drinks are expensive, but thats to be expected. Food drink lines are long, but they move with urgency. Security at the door, they search bags. Security line is longer than the ticket line. Ticket line is quick. Staff is friendly. Ladies room has women directing traffic as it were. The bathroom lines are long but they go fast! You can hear the music around the whole park, even if you cant see the stage. You can see the stage from almost anywhere on the lawn/in the seats. Theres stairs to get to the lawn, or you can just walk the hill.
A decent spot to see a show. The acoustics are pretty good. The biggest downside of this place is the food and drinks. The food selection straight up sucks. Options, quality, and prices. The beer is even worse.. $15 for a tall boy of Dos Equis.. at the Dos Equis pavilion. Make sure you pre-game in the parking lot or be prepared to spend a small fortune.
My favorite music venue. It is always affordable to see a concert. The lawn seats are favorite because you still have a great view for a cheap price. Well ran and always clean. Last concert was Ozzy and amazing!!
At 86, Willie still has it. Love the way he stops playing so you can hear the words of his songs Consummate performer. Loved being in the general admission grassy area. View was perfect.
This was our first concert at Dos Equis. For an outdoor concert venue it was nice. If you have lawn tickets get there an hour before. They have chair rental, but they are not comfortable. They are just a few inches off of the ground. They are also expensive. Just bring a blanket. They had several food concessions but outrageous prices. We ate before. Save your $15 per beer money and upgrade your parking. We paid for VIP parking, which enables you to get valet when you get there. You get your own exit. It was pricey at $20, but SO worth it. We just drove out. No line at all. We had a great time and would definitely go back.
Bought tickets months prior to covid 19, cancelation policy prior to event was if event cancelled 100% money back. They did cancel due to covid and changed the cancellation policy once covid 19 hit and gave credit for a later date. Very deceptive and unethical ticket policy change, crooks and thieves. Would not issue a refund.
Great place to sit in the lawn and listen to music. Parking and traffic are the worst.
Even if I really like the artist, I wont go to shows here. Obviously lawn seats are not supposed to be good, but the way this place is laid out, you cant see over the people in seats at all. And good luck hearing with the horrible echoes. Its also totally outdoors and unbearably hot 8 months out of the year, I just dont see why so many tours include this miserable spot.
Great venue! Zztop 50
Maiden was FANTASTIC! Old but GREAT band and what a show!!! However be prepared to pay a lot of money for concessions. Beers were $15 and food was just as much.
This summer I have attended several concerts at this venue. They have cleaned this place up. Thanks so much to the younger lady (Jamie, she younger had beautiful skin, outstanding smile, she was carrying a company radio). She was so kind and helpful during our visit to the venue. We were discussing the night at work the following Monday. Fast forward only to hear that one of the other girls had been helped by this same young lady. Thanks for your helping us
Awesome venue. Every seat in the house has a great view. Clean area with lots of bars and restaurants and even live music out side after the concert.
All staff was very friendly and helpful. Good acoustics.
ZZ Top 50th celebration. Just awesome.
Was there for the Kendrick Lamar show. Pretty awesome. Great sound. Really good production. Pyrotechnics were amazing. Seemed like a really nice guy.
Nice setting. Lawn chairs accessible. Must be 9 in. off the ground. Rentals are available.
9/7/19 and Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace & Chevell on Tuesday 9/10/19.
We loved it. Plenty of venders with short lines.8 bucks for a Pepsi but with free refills all night. I do not recommend the lawn unless your ok with watching the jumbo trons. Section 203 to 206 k-x is the best seats that arent right up on the stage where people rush
Great venue for concerts as long as the weather is nice. Restrooms are plenty and have the basics. Parking is okay, but make sure to lock your doors.Would recommend that ladies not carry a handbag, if possible. Make your life a little easier.Food is expensive and adult beverages are crazy expensive. Eat before you arrive.
Seen quite a few shows here over the years. Most recently saw Dave Matthews and as usual, he didnt disappoint! The beverages are ridiculously over priced, but I suppose its to be expected... If there is an artist you enjoy, this is a great venue to see them at. With the big screens they have, even the lawn is great.
Great venue I love the wide open spaces for a hard rock concert the acoustics are so much better!!!!
Great place to catch a concert! Theyve done a great job to ensure the view is decent from almost any seats, from GA to the lawn. Bathrooms are surprisingly clean, well lit, and plentiful. Staff were all helpful. Concessions everywhere youd want them. Prices were definitely a bit steep, but thats Dallas. If your going lawn, definitely bring your blanket or low fold up chairs. Water is also allowed but only if sealed at entry.
Beer is $$$. The people working at the Dos Equis Pavilion are very nice an helpful.
I have to change this too far stars. While the drinks are way overpriced. The addition of the four new screens adds so much to the show. I am super impressed with all the concerts I have attended this season
Got to see one of my favorite bands Breaking Benjamin again at this venue that they played 3 years ago. These guys know how to put on a show and are so genuine. Their passion for their craft shows in spades and I feel honored to be able to see them again. The venue is always clean with a variety of food and beverage items and parking is probably the easiest out of all the concert halls I get to go to. The stage is set up well for pyrotechnics and lighting the acoustic definitely surround you in the stadium.
We bought the Cabana tickets. Dont get me wrong... They were nice with the big seats and bar.. However... It was sitting for far over to the side that you really cant seeeee the show.. And the big screens worked intermittently... If the cabanas are kinda like Lawn VIP.. Put us in the middle.. Front and center...
I have been coming to this venue for 25 years. It is still an awesome music venue. If anything, there is an upgrade to the surrounding concessions and an increase in your beverage choices and quality foods. The sound is always amazing here and there are no bad seats. The lawn is great! Depending on the show, you can even bring in your own foods and blankets. They have chair rentals so no worries about not being able to bring your own. This place has hosted so many greats on its stage and I have forever many awesome memories. Love this place!
Looking for a great spot for concerts? Dos Equis Pavilion is the spot! All genre types play here. Prices are dependent on the section you buy from. Always reasonable prices $$
One of my favorite outdoor venues! Great sound, surprising quality at the concessions, plenty of room, and focused staff.
Great concert venue! Tonight Shinedown
This place will always be called Starplex Amplitheater, no matter what is the new corporate sponsorship. Its an okay venue to see a concert, however the prices of concessions is WAY too overpriced. If you have lawn tickets, you are pretty far away from the stage and cant really see the acts. You must rely on the big screens that are just as far away...I can think of at least three smaller places where I can see a show and feel like Im part of the crowd...
Great show, but venue gets hot in August and September so be ready to sweat.
Awesome sound! Really enjoyed all the performances.... especially Rascal Flatts! General Parking is free.
