Very quiet, enjoyable country setting. Wine host, owners father, offered a nice explanation of wines and the winery. Rustic buildings with a ample seating.

Great wine, live music, a full playground for the kids, clean bathrooms, friendly and knowledgeable staff.... What more could you want? Be sure to bring some lawn chairs or blankets for your group if you think its going to be a busy day.

Excellent wine for all pallets and a sense of fun make this winery in a corn crib a great destination. They have a nice size venue so social distance is no problem. We went for the afternoon to sit in the shade, sip some wine and soak in some blues. Highly recommend.

It was a really nice place it has place area for kids and a good outdoor area for the adult to lounge whilst they drink. But has no real indoor area.

Beautiful property with great tasting wine. Ordered the dirt road rose and hard apple cider. Lots of space to spread out and social distance. The owners had put in place clear rules for covid, restrooms were clean and we felt safe and happy! Definitely worth visiting.

Mountain run has a great barn feel as the main tasting room is in a barn :) it was a great place to avoid the rain and still enjoy Virginia wines. We spent approx 2 hours there and felt relaxed and not rushed. We had a great time and would come back! Our frenchie had a great time!

The winery has multiple outdoor seating with beautiful scenery and live music. The peach sangria is the best!

I love the atmosphere here but honestly, Im not a fan of their wines. The cider they offer is delightful and I will be back with my family to enjoy the provided yard games and glorious sunset!

Amazingly beautiful landscape and sunset. Friendly environment and fun for families, several events were going on at the same time. A fundraiser for psoriasis, a Dagorhir larp and live entertainment open to the public. Food was grilled by Bob and Sue and was awesome! Vending was available and the weather held up fir most of the time.

I’ve photographed several weddings at Mountain Run Winery and it is definitely one of my favorite venues! The outdoor ceremony site has a gorgeous view and there are ENDLESS options for photo locations around the property. It’s a photographer’s dream! Even on a rainy day, the barn and covered front porch of the farmhouse are great backup options for the ceremony and for photos. The owners are amazing and my clients have all loved their experience with them.I’ve visited the winery on non-wedding days also – the wines are wonderful and they’ve got so many fun events!

By far one of the best wineries in VA. They have only been open for a year and their wines are so good! This is the first winery I have honestly enjoyed every single wine they have.Not only are the wines tasty and varied, the atmosphere of the place is so relaxed and fun, not like some of the more stuffy places. Bring over a pizza from town or a picnic of your own and add a bottle of their wine to the experience! Enjoy friendly owners and beautiful backdrop with gorgeous sunsets!This is also the ONLY place open till sunset! Not like the others who close at 6, come enjoy an occasional bonfire! They have events every few months including yoga at the winery and pallet painting on site! Ive never been around such happy and pleasant staff at a winery.

This place is amazing! Great wine, friendly, crazy knowledgeable staff, and lots of room for the kids to run around. Plus there is corn hole and ladder golf. Best place to spend a weekend

Hidden jem... this winery is pretty amazing. Seems little and nothing special upon first arrival but is really quite unique. Really neat barn with unique seating areas. Wife says wine is pretty good too.

Took my mom out here for an afternoon. We both enjoyed a wine tasting, chose our favorites, then headed out to the property where there were some nicely placed chairs/tables to relax in. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly in a casual, farm atmosphere. We enjoyed it and will be back!

They have the rating they do for a reason. I did not get the opportunity to taste their sweet wines as I lean more towards the dryer side when it comes to whites and overall I tend to be a red fan. I enjoyed every single wine I tried and found none to be average. We met the owner, David, along with his wife, Kayte, & their daughter. Their set-up is unique and charming. During the warmer months your tasting will take place in the original corn crib in their 70+ year old barn. As we came in the colder months we were up above in the loft area of the barn. They are a family-friendly and pet-friendly location for those who enjoy wine. A bonus offering is they serve one or two ciders by the glass or bottle (not part of the tasting menu). The ambience is cozy and friendly and from the books they have made to commemorate each year this is a fantastic location to come to in the warmer months. They have seating out and ready for those wanting to sit and view the vines and hillsides. And for my petit verdot lovers - they have them! Check it out!

Probably my favorite winery in Virginia. The tasting room is in this great old barn that you can tell was used for decades as part of a working farm. Beautiful grounds and I go all the time and really enjoy the wines (they even have mead and cider!), the rustic atmosphere and the friendly staff. Kayti is my favorite there. I highly recommend and the best time to go is around sunset since they stay open late!

This is one of the best wineries i have been to. I was asked which winery is my favorite and now i have a tie! Amazing! My favorite wine was the Traminette bought a bottle. They are priced so reasonably!

The tasting room is cute and the wines are really good. They offer two tasting menus - White and Red - for $12/ea or you can do both for $24. There is a wine for everyone.My favorite was their dry Rose - Dirt Road Rose. A must try if you dont like a super sweet Rose.

Nice location on a old farm. The tasting room is a 150 yr old barn and adds a nice touch to the place. The owner/winemaker is very friendly. The wines are nice with a variety of whites and reds. They make all their wines from grapes grown in Virginia. They place isnt easily seen from the highway so you have to look for signs.

This place is awesome! Great place for friends and family! We have two little ones and it’s great to sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine and let the them play. The owners are very friendly. After visiting most of the wineries in area, this is by far my favorite. Laid back atmosphere and family friendly!

My boyfriend and I went here this past weekend on our way down to Orange, VA. I honestly couldnt believe that they had only been open 17 weeks. This is probably the best winery I have been to (and I go to a lot of wineries).I absolutely enjoyed every one of their wines, the customer services was wonderful, and it was the owner serving us the wines for our tastings. The owners father was there to help with pressing grapes that day, and he was fun to talk to as well. Both were very personable. We ended up buying three bottles to take home, and I cant wait to drink them so I can go back and visit. It was completely worth the short detour.

We had a great time at this authentic, rustic experience! Though it didnt have a plethora of wine styles, the wines we had were delicious. The tasting room was extremely cool, and the outdoor seating was beautiful. Dog friendly!

Grounds are fantastic, particularly the barn/bar combo. Games for kids to enjoy - so a family friendly atmosphere. Tasting was nice. Ill reserve the 5th star for when they begin rolling out their own. Wonderful to have this close by. Owners were exceptionally friendly and informative.

Very beautiful winery with a friendly and knowledgeable owner. Cozy layout and even has Renaissance fairs and activity. Also a very good bang for your buck wine club.

We showed up when the painting and wine event was just about to start, and everyone involved was finishing their orders. They had about 40 people there for the painting and wine! Once the mad rush for the wine subsided, we got an excellent tasting from the owner of the winery. We love that because he could answer any questions we had, and we also got some of the history surrounding the winery. We had perfect weather for the open air wine bar in an old barn, we did not go upstairs to the air conditioned wine bar. A first for us was that they used a barrel with Heavy Toast, and it produced a very nice wine.

Dont waste your time. Out of their white wines; reds not very good and the hard apple cider tasted like water. They were using 3 wines from Narmada which were great. Save your money and go to Narmada Winery.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit last weekend. The owner was very personable and the property beautiful. We bought a delicious jar of wine jam and a bottle of red wine too. Highly recommend this gem of a winery.

A picturesque winery run by a knowledgeable and friendly couple. The wines are quiet good, especially the Cab Franc. We had a wonderful time in September 2017.

This is my new favorite winery! At the majority of vineyards Ive visited in MD/VA, there are a few wines I like but more that I dont or that are just ok. Not here! My husband and I loved every single wine we tried and had decided to hold our wedding here this past weekend. We had contemplated choosing a few wines to offer at the wedding but loved every one so much we couldnt cross any off the list.I couldnt have asked for a better wedding or venue, everything was PERFECT. The owners, David and Kayti, were organized, gave us a list of vendors close by to help with the planning, had a website for planning out the ceremony seating and reception floor plan, and went out of their way to answer questions or help where they could.They are the sweetest people and I hands down recommend Mountain Run for everything from a fun day visit (they also hold fun events like wine + painting days or yoga + wine days, because lets be real, everything is better with wine) to a party or wedding venue.
