Came here for a concert. Pretty laid back. Could use a few more seating options for people who dont want to stand up in front of the stage. All in all its a nice little bar with some good shows now and then.
Really enjoy A&R Music Bar. I appreciate that the stage isnt level with the floor like it is at the Basement (not counting the pit). Always enjoy coming here. Make sure to get here early enough so you dont get stuck behind a support pole!
Staff was nice and the venue was small and personal. Only problem was the extra downstairs restroom was blocked off for the first half of the show which created the longest line ever. They should keep all restroom options available at all times.
A small but nice venue for up and coming artists and bands. I liked the venue location and indoor style. There is an outdoor patio and seating, and indoors there is a Boston pizza chain. I wish there was a more varied selection of beer and alcohol, but overall it isnt bad.
Who doesnt Love The A&R Music Bar?! Its my Fave Dive Bar to see Up & Coming Bands! It has my Fave Pizza inside, Mikeys Late Night Slice & the Staff & Security are Kind, Helpful & Fun people who Love their jobs!! It has ample outdoor seating where you can still hear the music! You can get up close & personal with the band members! Always a Great time here! Rock On!
Great venue for an intimate experience with your favorite bands! The sound could use some adjustment as it was VERY loud and the vocals got overpowered some but still was a great experience! There was security at the door and they got everyone in at a good pace. But beware of bringing bigger bags and purses, they had people leave them outside the door but they kept watch over them the entire time. Overall a good experience.
Really fun bar and great live music would go again
Absolutely FELL in love with this not so small, medium to large sized bar with a very nice stage. We saw the band Bayside it was hands down one of the best shows I’ve ever been to. I would highly recommend.
I love venues of this size, but this one is the first Ive ever been to with so many bad sightlines. A series of pillars divides the place 60/40 from stage to soundboard, leaving a third or so of a capacity crowd unable to see the stage. Its unlikely the layout can change, so Promowest needs to reduce their capacity. Thank goodness Ive seen the band so many times, and was happy dancing on the fringe!
Good small venue for a concert. Reason I gave it 4/5 because the trash cans over flowed and trash was all over the floor. Could have been avoided if staff emptied the trash cans while they were walking around.
Decent concert venue. Limited seats. Very crowded.
Unsafe venue, we visited last evening to see Teddy Swims. There were far too many people standing in the venue. All admission tickets are standing only and Teddy started real late. A&R kept all patrons outside in the rain rather than open the doors to allow people in. Tje crowd had drugs going around and drinks were being spilled, with no where to move we were getting wet with bear and other drinks. A terrible venue.
Saw Tender here and had an absolute blast! Highly recommend.
Staff was friendly and very organized even with the huge crowd. The bar staff was great as well. Drinks were poured healthy and wait times were small. Very nice experience overall.
Great place. Too few of bathrooms though.
Was a nice and personal experience, drinks wernt to much and the sound quality was pretty great
Was awesome. Had a great time and was a plus that parking was just across the street. Will definitely be back.
Very minimal seating. Took teenagers for a concert, good show. Easy parking behind the venue.
Bummer man, site says open at 11️4:15pm and cant get a beer. 2 workers there, doors unlocked, big room is cool and empty.️ and its hot outside.
This is basically a large flat room with a bar on one long wall and a stage tucked into the corner. The half of the room with the bar is kind of separate from the sound area, leaving the space for the crowd pretty narrow and cramped. Columns block the view if you are not squeezed into the main throng of people. I think this could work a lot better if they scattered tables and chairs and made it an intimate space for quieter performances, but the show I went to was just too crowded.
Service is good. Venue is intimate with large pillars in the way of viewing the stage from multiple angles. If you like to hang back in the rear, your view will be partially blocked.
Good rock club. Not always easy to see with columns in the way. Better in the warm season with the patio doors open.
Smaller venue, but fun. Nice that they have the side doors (garage doors) to open so you can sit on the patio and still see ane enjoy the band.
A bit small, but I was right in front of stage & had a great experience. The staff was very friendly. Loved the pizza!
The worst place. Everything is overpriced and they will turn the volume up so loud you wont be able to comprehend the music being played in front of you. The staff is rude and obviously the sound guy has no idea whats going on. This place could be awesome but currently it blows. At least they have a late night slice inside that is excellent however its almost double price from a normal Mikeys. My assumption is the express has to take a huge rake from Mikeys. Unfortunate.
The concert was perfect but the venue was tragically less so. Smoke machine set off fire alarms, staff was rude.
Its a good space for concerts. Its small enough where you can still see the artist. Service is fast and thats always good.
Love where its at and its really open the mix drinks are one of the best to would go back
It was a really cozy intimate setting.
Awesome little venue. Up close and personal.
The venue has a old timey feel. The staff was friendly. A wide selection of beers and mixed drinks. The acoustics weren’t the greatest. Sound bounced off the walls too much.
Service is usually good at the bar. They have a late night slice inside which is nice. When its nice out there is a nice outdoor area. As far a venue goes, the sound is bad and usually hard to see unless you are tall.
Another amazing show at the Basement! Staff is great and the Basement and A&R bar are great places to see bands!
I like the venue. The main band was too big for the show, and the crowd was awkward, but I had fun...kinda.
Ok place... good band scene. Im fairly sure that the bartenders over billed me. I asked for a breakdown of my final tab and they could not provide. Keep an eye on them!
Saw Cuz Simple!! Awesome show, awesome service!!!
Great place for Pre-party
A&R music bar is by far one of the nicest venues weve been to see artists perform. Its easy to see the artist up close and hear their music. People are respectful and dont push and shove you. Its always one of the best places and guaranteed good time! Highly recommended!
Nice ambiance! Great place to hear Jonathan McReynolds concert!
Despicable customer service. Left a concert and walked to the exit and turned right back around after remembering that it’s a Thursday and nothing is open food-wise so my sister and I wanted to grab a slice of pizza. And even after explaining that to the woman who saw us leave and turn right back around, she rudely denied us the opportunity to do that. I understand the policy of no reentry, but she literally saw us leave and come back RIGHT back in. We hadn’t even made it down one step yet. We paid for tickets, we paid for merchandise, and we paid for parking. And to not have the bare minimum exception made while there were still plenty of people inside felt extremely rude, disrespectful, insensitive and abhorrent. What started as a nice night ended as a letdown and a horrendous experience. Talked with others who experienced a rude dismissal after show as well. I get you’ve worked a concert and everything but it was pretty much unacceptable. As someone who works in customer service, I would never intend to treat someone that way, nor would would I want to experience being treated as I and others were treated tonight. One woman was walking out as I was trying to go back in and stated she and her 9-year-old niece had driven from out of town for this concert and their night was ruined as well by the way the employees of A&R music bar acted towards them. Completely reprehensible, disgusting, inconsiderate and vile. It would take a lot to get me to return to this establishment. Thanks for ruining what had originally been a great evening.
Great sound for show, great bartenders
Staff was very nice and respectful
This is a cool place to see bands a couple tiers above what youd normally expect to see at this kind of venue. The stage is reasonably accessible, but not very wide, and there are some structural pillars in the way throughout the room. Bathroom situation is a mess, only two toilets available. Beer selection is just cheap domestic and Canadian stuff. Sound is great though and everyone Ive seen here has done a meet & greet.
Not open on Saturday? Concerts are going on. Ok.
Intimate venue. Limited seating but who wants to be sitting down when you can stand just feet away from your favorite bands! Staff has always been friendly and the drinks are reasonably poured if not completely reasonably priced which is about as much as one can ask from a downtown concert venue. Also, Late Night Slice is in house-cant be mad about that!
Had so much fun with my kids at the Black Stone Cherry concert. Even found a new band to follow....Through Fire. Everyone was so friendly. My teen even got to meet the bands!
This is an intimate, fun venue to see bands from a whole range of genres. Ive seen folk/country, Alt, and Prog Rock shows here and they have all been fantastic. The beer selection is decent with large size drafts for those with a DD. Sight lines can be tricky (reason for 4 star), when situated to the right side of the venue by the bar, due to support columns.
Great concert venue and great drinks, love coming here!
Great place, last night I went to my 2nd concert at A&R with my girlfriend; We three was amazing! My only complaint about A&R is that there isnt enough seating.
Been here a few times for small concerts. The venue is nice and intimate aside from a few inconvenient brick pillars that block view of the stage
The place has a Mikeys Late Night Slice inside!
Awesome for live entertainment. wide variety of music played and plenty of space. great drink selection.
Small venue. Long bar without stools. About 6 high top tables with a couple of chairs each. Little kitchen to order some snacks. The bartenders were friendly and I never waited long for a drink.
Really good venue
Love having the patio to relax on before and during concerts.
The music was awesome. I only wish I had known that you have to stand as I have a bad back.
Love seeing any band here. Great close up view of the stage and performers. Beer prices are pretty good to.
They do a nice job of recreating a dive music bar.
I went to this place for the Janine concert they were cool but I havent been outside its that one event
What an awesome little venue for bands. I had an amazing time watching Biffy Clyro perform. It was hot as balls but the garage doors along the side were opened and allowed a breeze to roll in. Outdoor seating and a big bar make this an awesome venue.
A nice small venue joint. First time going was impressive.
Decent place for a show. Okay beer selection. Like the fact that they can open the garage doors on a nice evening to help with the air flow.
Best bartenders anywhere! Very comfortable bar setting for an intimate music performance too!
Really great service from the bartenders but the sound at the last show I went to was TERRIBLE. all you could hear was bass and drums from every band. Levels dude. Levels.
I went to A&R for a concert. The concert was great. However, the crowd was quite loud, and the bar was reasonably dingy. The draft selection was also reasonably poor. For the price, I didnt mind it. It also didnt impress.
Fantastic small music venue.Kicker theres 2 venues here.Upstairs A&RDownstairs the BasementBoth intimate
If you like to mosh and slamdance this isnt your venue. If you like to watch your favorite bands in a sardine can this venue is for you.
Really great venue, sound system was excellent. Wish there was more seating!
Cool smaller venue in Columbus
Great venue!
It was a fun time. Very diverse audience. Different bands all the time.
The security restrictions have gotten a little out of control. Tried to go to a show and they told my friend to leave her purse outside because it was an inch to big.She wasnt about to do that so we missed a show that I had bought and paid for. The staff was pretty rude about it so that made it worst.
Hell of a good time!
Great place to go and watch bands. Bar tenders are great!
Very divey bar with mediocre drinks and bands.
Very intimate venue, with a huge bar and late night slice right inside. Great place
Awesome venue
Great venue for live music! Outside porch for when you need fresh air, reasonable drink prices.
Horrible experience. Small space with a lot of people, the columns make it impossible to see the stage from certain angles, no a/c, the bartender makes you say please for a cup of water, and the security staff gropes you before the concert and refuses to let you outside of the bar while the concert is going on. I will never attend another concert here.
Great experience. Intimate and everyones passionate about the art of the music!
Great small venue for concerts. There is a bar and limited food is available, pizza, fries, that sort of stuff. The prices are comparable to other concert bars. It is mostly standing unless you get there early as there is very little seating.
Prices are concert-level high. Bathrooms are single, and the line for them is perpetual.
Decent bar for a music jam venue. Everyone is close to the stage. About 300 max I was told.
