I worked for the PCF through AmeriCorps and it was the most unprofessional environment Ive worked in. Was on a team with one other girl and the team leaders were men. The workers would drink, do drugs and made me feel really uncomfortable. When I gave a compelling circumstances letter to quit because I had to take care of my daughter back home, the Program Coordinator Rachel refused to accept my letter and said it wasnt compelling enough to have to leave so I didnt get my partial education award that would have helped me go to school. I asked for phone numbers for individuals above her to call about the situation but I had no luck. I spent three months in a program that didnt respect me as a person and worked you even if you were physically hurt. I do regret this experience, I spent a lot of time away from my family for nothing.
