This place is dirty, and has roaches, don’t get a membership here. The inside pool is closed 24/7 and the men haft to use the ladies sauna because the men’s sauna has been closed for months now and they don’t plan on fixing it.
This place is terrible I recommend not coming here..,.the woman’s bathroom after hours is dirty, you also can’t access the pool also men come in the ladies sauna.
This place has roaches in the bathrooms and saunas are closed 24/7 for men, they haft to use the women saunas and the inside pools are closed 24/7.
We recently joined and during the tour we talked about how much we liked the indoor pool and thats why we decided to join. My daughter loves to swim. The person who did the tour said nothing about the pool closing.I feel that was misleading and dishonest .And they will not let you out of the contract.
I’m a member, always have since it was owned by the YMCA. Sorry but lately the place is not kept as clean as before. Shower rooms are messy, showers and liners dirty. I even donated some shower liners and have not been change. Pools are clean but need some touch ups. The hot tub has not been working for over 3 weeks. Now I heard the facility will be closing the end of March for good. We, me included need heated pool in town to be able to keep doing some sort of therapy for our health. We need someone else that cares for the town of Columbia and it’s people to get it and maintain it correctly.Thank you
Never very crowded.
They’re dirty, and have roaches.
I’ve visited this place since I was a kid, and I’ve loved it. But it’s disappointing that the indoor pool is closing, especially with how much a membership costs.
No heated pool as advertised. The prices are very high not to have it heated. Can not swim in something too cold like that. It is a shame they advertise heated and it not be. Several senior citizens that use the facility no longer can due to the temperature of the water. Was told the heater has been broken. It has been several weeks now. Not happy
Outdoor and indoor pools are very much worth the membership. Helpful and friendly staff. Great workout programs and classes as well as excercise equipment. They also have a gym for basketball.
Its very clean, well staffed, well maintained.
I enjoyed Muletown Rec a bunch! The water aerobics and Barre classes were just what I was looking for. Yoga, however, was the best! Their instructor, Lynne, is fabulous. The indoor pools and sauna were great.
Great place for pool therapy if you can get in the pool without an unscheduled class taking place.. Very disappointing that they allow classes to take over the pool when they are not scheduled for that day. Needs better time management or control over the one lady believing she has special rules that only apply to her and her little class of 4 ladies
Ilove this place! Something for everyone in my family to do and benefit from. Do yourself a favor. Invest in you! Get a membership.
I sent and email with questions and the director got back to me the same day and answered my questions. The only draw back for me now is they are talking about closing the indoor pool which is the one reason I needed the rec center:(
We love this place. Best quality Ive seen for a rec center. Usually not too busy and great location. They have yoga classes and pool therapy classes as well.
During the first six months of membership, it was just barely worth it. After that, however, it became DEFINITELY worth it. The difference? We went more! Took advantage of classes. Invited friends to join, whom we knew would enjoy it and use it, so that we now like to go meet them there, which encourages us to go more. Were a family of ten now, so $8/mo/person is a totally amazing deal. The facility is top grade compared to what you might expect in Columbia. The staff are solidly professional and genuinely personable. We havent encountered any rude clients. Its just been a great blessing to us.
Good facility, but very rude. They have been rude to me and my friends many times. They even kicked me and my friends out of the building five minutes after they closed, while it was raining, and we said our rides were almost there but she still kicked me and my friends out in the rain. This is not the first time something like this has happened and it’s just very disrespectful to your members. I would say a membership is not worth it because the price is too high along with them being rude.
I havent been able to go because of shingles.
A great place to exercise, swim, take classes, build strength & stamina.
If I could give no stars, I would. The indoor pool heater was broken. I was not using the pool (and paid) because I was watching our baby and my husband was helping my 3 year old daughter practice swimming (we were going to alternate who was swimming with her). The pool was so cold, she couldnt even focus on putting her head under the water, kicking, swimming or floating. Her lips were blue and she was shivering. We didn’t know until we walked into indoor pool and there was a sign “heater still broke”. The sign should have been posted when entering the facility. That way, visitors can chose “is this worth it?” We would not have paid $30 for 30 minutes. Absolutely no excuse for a broken heater with prices that high.
After paying the day rate a few times for our daughter to play in the pool, we joined Muletown Rec with the family membership. There’s a great balance between plenty of classes to get into and non-crowded equipment times to do your own thing. I love going into The Jungle and getting my own workout of the day on the weekends!
MY NAME IS BARBARA WILSON IM A SENIOR WITH ARTHRITIS AND SPINAL STENOSIS . I WAS A MEMBER OF THE YMCA FROM 2011 UNTIL IT CLOSED AS WELLNESS ON APRIL 15 2015 !. THERE WAS NEVER A PROBLEM WITH THE HEATER . THEN MULETOWN BEGAN I JOINED 2015 THEN THE HEATER PROBLEMS BEGAN NOT TO LONG AFTER . THEN ACTULLY IN 2017 THROUGH 2018 NO HEATED POOL FOR WEEKS AT A TIME . I WAS A MEMBER AND EVEN THOUGH NOT ABLE TO USE ANY PART OF THE FACILITY BUT THE POOL I WAS STILL PAYING MY DUES TIL THE LATTER PART OF 2018 WHEN I CANCELED . THEN BECAUSE IT IS THE ONLY PLACE AROUND WHERE I CAN DO MY THERPY EXCERCISES I DECIDED TO GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY ! I BEGAN MY MEMBERSHIP AGAIN IN MARCH 2019. IVE BEEN UNABLE TO USE THE THERPY POOL SINCE THE HEATER HAS BLOWN THIS TIME. THEY TOLD ME THEY WHERE SO SORRY THAT THEY WOULD NOT CHARGE MY BANK ACCOUNT FOR ONE MONTH . THATS NOT GOOD ENOUGH ! I CANT CONTINUE PAYING LIKE LAST TIME AND GET NOTHING FOR MY MONEY. BEFORE I PAYED $40 A MONTH NOW WITH MY SENOIR DISCOUNT ITS $36 . BUT WHY GET A DISCOUNT IF I CANT USE THE POOL! THE LAST TIME I TRIED IT FELT LIKE ICE WATER I ONLY GOT MY FEET WET ! IF I HAD STAYED ID BEEN UNABLE TO WALK FOR A MONTH ! THERE WAS NO SIGNS STATING THE HEATER WAS OUT NO WARNINGS OR I WOULD HAVE STAYED AT HOME, SO I WILL NOT BE A MEMBER AGAIN ! I REALLY DESERVE MY MONEY BACK !!!!!
Not a good place to have a swim meet. First you have to register with a lot of your personal information just to watch the meet. Then you realize you cant watch the meet because there is no room for a chair. Ridiculous!
Called to get pricing on taking my disabled daughter to use their swimming pool to get her some physical therapy on her legs. $60 a month to just come and Bob around in the pool a little bit. I thought it was a little expensive. Not something we can afford to do it this time.
Run down equipment.Slowly cancelling late morning classes. The Easter dive was a joke!Had to pay a full day rate even though the gym closed an hour later and only 1 prize egg.Very poorly organized event!!!!!!!
Very helpful and nice people. They offer a lot of classes and trainers that can help you. My daughter is there at least four times a week.
Smaller than expected. Very friendly staff.Price seems reasonable. Unfortunately, not what im looking for as they dont have alot of kids programs other than what seems like a p.e. class.
Clean and very large facility. The pools and splash pads are nice. The life guards are a bunch of kids and not too friendly.
I love mule town rec! Amazing people!
I thinks it way to over priced for what it is
Great classes and resources. customer service could use a little work. but overall a great place to get active.
Went to take the grandkids over to the pool to swim and they told us it would be $50 to swim for an afternoon. That is a rip off. Went to David Crockett State Park with a 50 meter pool $5 each.
Love this place
Great place to work out. Indoor and outdoor pools, exercise classes, sauna and full machine / cardio room.
Well kept facility with very friendly staff!
Best gym! Best coaches
Great place to workout, swim and have a good time
Get place to go swimming love it
Great, other than full court in the gymnasium
Awesome family atmosphere!
Nice place but really pricey for columbia. Not worth $80 monthly just to visit a few times a year .
Fun place to swim.
Very friendly and accommodating !

I went to muletown rec after hours and went to the bathroom and I seen a lot of roaches (I have it on video).Members don’t have access to the inside pool. This place is to expensive to barley have access to anything that we’re supposed to.
