This venue is just big enough without being too big. Ive set in second row seats and second balcony seats. All seats are great!!! The Koger center is coming into its own now. They are bringing more off Broadway shows which I love!!! Just saw Wicked!!!

Not gonna lie I felt pretty dumb because I didnt realize that actors in a ballet dont speak on stage. Anyway its a beautiful place. Lots of pretty art everywhere outside the stage. Everyone who works there is very nice. Their theater equipment and AV effects are high quality. The only downside to this place is parking so get there early!

I have came here for several ballets over the years, as well as concerts. My favorite event is the Dracula ballet. The Koger center is laid out very well. There are drinks available for purchase although it is a little steep in prices. The theatrics for the Dracula ballet are very well laid out. They change up the performance every year. So that it’s always different to some degree. It’s fun to dress up and pretend you’re fancy. The intermissions are very well timed, however you have to rush to the concessions to be able to purchase anything during your 15-20 min break. I would and will continue to attend performances here. I’ve never sat in the balcony, but I hear it’s a good view if you sit more center. If you get in the ends of the aisles then your view of some angles of the stage might be blocked by curtains. I would recommend checking out a show here. Especially the Dracula ballet if you are new to ballets.

The building is beautiful! Full glass views from all floors. Parking in garage adjacent to building was convenient. Performance was amazing, sounds, lights etc. Our seats were 3rd floor balcony, first row. A short person will require the booster seats available to see over wall. I watched entire performance without unfolding the seat, utilizing the height and was able to see perfectly and remained comfortable. Bathrooms are located on the right side of the building only ( all floors) . The biggest issue that I observed: there is no main isle, you can only enter the row your seat is in from L or R side therefore causing you to walk in front of many people to go to and from your seat. Once we arrived I n our seats, we didnt move the rest of the evening.

The staff was so friendly! We had so much fun, the only negative comment I have is that the Row F seats were a little uncomfortable for larger people. My boyfriend was a just a bit too big for the chair and the arm rests dont move. Other than that it was a wonderful experience and we both enjoyed ourselves.

For as long as this place has been bringing cultural enrichment to the midlands, we have loved everything we have ever bought tickets for. The staff of the Koger Center are ALWAYS so helpful and friendly, whether via telephone or in person. Tonight, my daughter and I saw WICKED! It was absolutely wonderful.

Just saw Wicked. Loved the show. Prefer to see it in Charlotte like I did the last time. The show is so awesome I didnt want to wait until it comes back to charlotte next year. Big mistake! For a new theater it was built very odd. Not enough lady restrooms, although I have a small frame, the seats were very small and uncomfortable. First theater that didnt have aisles. We had middle seat 34/35 so each time I had to scoot in front of at least 33 people to get to my seat. Notice that staff didnt assist with elderly clients. I noticed that once the doors opened, they were practically knocked over by the crowd. I saw many trying to get to railing to assist them. Will definitely not go back. We love the theater but

Great place near University of South Carolina campus in Columbia for plays, shows and events. Lots of good seats, several levels. Decent acoustics and food / beverage service. Prices better than Charlotte. Parking is NOT great but several places in short walking distance. Close to downtown hotels and restaurants.

Great show! We saw wicked last night! I am a smaller person as is my husband and we felt very tight in our seats. The cushions made it so you had to sit perfectly straight up which made for an uncomfortable couple hours, but was worth it.The presales for alcoholic beverages was a great idea! However, it would have been nice had they explained it a bit better so I wouldnt have waited in the long line and known the table I needed to go to was somewhere else. But thats fine, it worked out.I had about 45 seconds to drink it before having to throw it out or miss part of the show, so I drank fast! Its the only venue I have been to that wouldnt allow me to bring my drink in with me. I did at the first act but walking in for the second I was stopped. The show was amazing!

I worked a merch stand for wicked and I didnt get to go into the theater but the staff was amazing and they keep the bathrooms amazing. Snacks are a bit pricey but they do need to make a profit. I cant wait to see my first show in the theater and I would Deffinitly check it out if you get a oppertunity.

Review №23

Do NOT purchase seats in Balcony, Row AAA. There is a metal safety bar above the railing that will obstruct a good portion of your view of the stage. I am 57 and the bar cut off anything that was on the proscenium line from sight. I had to lean far forward to see faces during a Broadway show last night. My family ended up moving to empty seats even higher up because of this. Otherwise, this venue is lovely. Plan to walk a bit up up some hills from available parking sites.

Took the wife to see Dracula the BalletI thought I was doing good by purchasing Orchestra seats in Row H seat 1 & 2, bad move on my part. Our necks were craned left all evening and also being on the end of the row meant all 50 people in that row are going to be sliding their asses across your face getting to their seats before the show and during the two intermissions, the seats were comfortable but your crammed in like sardines. The next time I purchase tickets for a show at Koger Center I will purchase center seats. There is a small refreshment stand offering basics such as drinks and candies,no food in the show area so serving only the basics makes sense..

Im really thankful that the Koger center brings great talent including broadways to Columbia!I attended the Nutcracker performance last Dec 2019. Parking is across the street for a fee normally $5 and up per car. There is some free parking on streets if you get lucky. USC parking handles large crowds, so no worries about a parking issue. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The Koger Center is very modern and up to date, bathrooms very large with plenty of stalls. The seats in the theater are comfy with enough walking space in between. They are leveled appropriately so others can see the stage comfortably.I will continue to use this venue for yrs to come!

A decent venue, but avoid buying tickets online here if at all possible. In addition to the normal expected fee for these services (though it is a little steep), they apparently think we still are in the 1990s because they then tack on a $16 internet fee (through their provider Choice Entertainment Technologies, now part of The Shubert Organization). The response from the Koger Center was a) We dont have any control. Yes, you do. You negotiate the contract and its done under your name; b) Come to the box office (no fee except for the $2 restoration fee to help preserve the place; but two trips in my vehicle, one for the tickets, one for the show -- guess they dont care about carbon footprint); or c) Use the phone option (other fees but at least no internet fee -- Im unsure if theres a phone fee; you know, thats pretty cutting-edge tech). Sure, you open at 6 pm, 8 am? Yeah, didnt think so. Same conform to our business hours attitude. But, you see, its 2020, and the world doesnt work that way anymore. So those in the arts note -- treating your patrons like a piggy bank is not a winning strategy.
