Really awesome room! Unique puzzles that require use of the whole room, which encourages team work keeping the game exciting and engaging for everyone. And since this facility is in a home the room had windows; perfect for people who might be a little claustrophobic but still want to try an escape room. Clues we received were helpfully enough to push us in the right direction without giving away the answer entirely.
This was only the second escape room I have ever done and now understand the escape room craze! It was incredibly fun, it was challenging but not frustrating, and the game mechanics were awesome. Felt very welcomed from the beginning and top notch cimeatics with the room intro video. Everyone in the group really enjoyed the inventors room game and we escaped with less than 5 minutes! Highly recommended and will be back!
It was so much fun. This place actually led the way for our family to continuously play escape games. It was truly memorable.
My family had a great experience! The staff was fun and friendly. The room was well designed and expertly set up. My husband and I took our 7 and 15 year old sons. They both had a great time and each felt challenged by the puzzles. My husband and I also had a great time. We would definitely recommend!!!
Very enjoyable experience both times we went. I would highly recommend these rooms for creativity and thoughtfulness of the design. We are planning on going back to experience the last room. The staff was very friendly and made for a truly fun escape room.Or favorite room so far was the mining experience with Sourdough Joe and his missing fortune. Highly recommended
There are so many reasons to visit the Greatest Escape Games. First, it was just fun. My two kids (8 and 5 years) were challenged by and enjoyed Santas Little Helper. I even struggled with the puzzle! Second, the ladies who run the place are really, really nice. Third, the house in which the rooms are is picturesque. We had a blast and will definitely be visiting again.
I highly recommend The Great Escape Games! It was so much fun for our group! We’ve been twice and have done two different rooms and our favorite is definitely the Inventors room!!Take a groups and get ready for fun!! The girls that start you with directions are very friendly!!
We always have a great time here. The puzzles are challenging and the Victorian house is a great scene setter.
This place is really neat. Easy to find downtown. We did the cabin fever scenario and it was a blast. My 12 yr old and 10 yr old sons were able to figure out most of the clues without our help but it was still difficult enough to make us have to collaborate with each other.. will definitely go back for more!!!
Super fun and we escaped! We did the most difficult room they had which was Inventors Workshop, definitely needed all the hints it was quite difficult but awesome! The room was put together really well, and in a cute older house south downtown Colorado Springs. I would highly recommend!
Upon doing all the rooms, my husband and Is favorite room is Inventors Workshop. This room is very unforgettable and we highly recommend The Greatest Escape Games. We will definently be back for more!
Nice and friendly staff. Parking was a bit tight. Room where we were put up was clean. An existing house was converted into this game area where I believe they had 4 different game areas. We had booked for an hour and got timely clues when we waived our hands in front of the camera. All the electromechanical systems were solid and worked well. The mystery was well thought out and it was a lot of fun.
Very fun and challenging room my group and I had a blast. Cant wait to go again and try another room
Thought the room was pretty good, ours was mostly just combo locks which is fine, but a group we went with did a different room and loves theirs which sounded a lot more immersive. Id go back and try a different room.
Fun experience, imaginative puzzles but very little story.Overall: Although the puzzles were fun and different, they lacked any connection to the story of the room. We booked The Inventors Workshop. If you hate lock and key puzzles or combination locks then youre going to love this room. No keys, no combination locks. Every puzzle uses a different gizmo and gadget to unlock. That was the fun part of the room. With that said, the story felt like it came out of a Escape Rooms R Us box. A short, well produced and very generic video plays at the beginning and you shortly forget why youre locked in a room and why you should care. Ive been in escape rooms where we had to defuse a bomb and every puzzle reminded you of the urgency of the situation. The impending doom and the progression of the story was exhilarating. I didnt get any of that in this room. I just felt like I was solving puzzles for no good reason. The booking experience: I reserved the room online and paid for four. I emailed them and asked them to reserve the other four slots for friends. They were very responsive and helpful. NOTE: The reservation email says If you have not booked the entire room you may be paired with other guests. They suggest eight people for this room but its too much. Id suggest four to keep it fun and challenging. Six max. Before the room: Parking is on the street. We went Friday night and didnt have any issues finding spots nearby. There was another group waiting for another room. The waiting area was somewhat crowded. Some of my group still had to pay when they arrived. After they paid, they got a receipt with the amount I paid and the amount they paid. Momentary panic ensued, thinking their card was charged a couple hundred dollars and they had to ask for clarity. The payment system isnt good and Id encourage the owner to explain receipts before freaking more patrons out.The room instructions were minimal but gave away a few surprises unnecessarily. We left all our coats and purses on a table. I appreciate it when other places have lockers to store your stuff securely. The room and puzzles: The room isnt large. Another reason Id suggest 4-6 people. The puzzles are big and obvious. The design was fantastic and the mechanics of the entire room were impressive and imaginative. Someone was creative and thought outside of the box, making for a unique escape room experience. If every puzzle tied back to the story, this would have been a top experience. After solving a few puzzles, I actually forgot what the story was and why the cool props and puzzles mattered. Spoiler alert: Theres a puzzle that requires a sense of smell. They need to find better scents. It was hard to nail down the artificial scents. We got stuck on one part and got a clue from the host. We were allowed three clues, and only needed the one. That says a lot about the logic and puzzle progression in the room. Ive been in some rooms where the puzzles are a little too abstract and need some more explanation. We didnt have any issues with that here. One of the clues was just hard to see because of the lighting in the room. The verdict: We successfully escaped the room in about 40 minutes. If we had six people, it probably would have taken 50 minutes. We just had too many people per puzzle. The puzzles are really hard, the odds were just stacked in our favor. The host congratulated us and seemed to apologize. Well, I hope you at least had fun. Maybe we were arguing more than I thought. The host offered to take our picture with the final time. There wasnt a competitive leaderboard (like many other escape rooms). Unfortunately, this added to the purposelessness of the experience. We came, we saw, we escaped. With a little time and creativity, tying the puzzles together to the narrative, making the escapers feel like they have an important role to play in the story and giving people a sense of competition would make this escape room one of the best in town. The puzzles and mechanics are there. They just need a reason to be solved.
Family tried the Santas Naughty List room. We had a good time. It is very generation one though so be aware of that. The puzzles were fun though and its a great room for families. Our 10 year old had a really good time.
We did 2 and really enjoyed the automated room more than the room with locks & keys
Great staff, puzzles keep mind stimulated over had a wonderful time
Really fun time with the family! I would definitely recommend.
My 15 year old daughter and her two friends did the Scandal room, and though they were not able to open the room, they had a lot of fun and will definitely do another in the future. The attendant was really nice and accommodating. The place is easy to find, I found a parking spot right in front of the building. Overall, a great experience.
Did the mining room. Very well thought out. Already talking about returning. Staff was great. Room was challenging but not impossible. Overall worth every penny.
Amazing place for team building. I laughed so hard, had so much fun and I did it with great people!
Had a wonderful time and enjoyed being here with my coworkers highly recommend them
Very mind stimulating. Great team building activity.
Ive been here twice now and its an absolutely wonderful experience! Had so much fun with friends and family both times!! Definitely an experience everyone should have!
Had my daughters 11th birthday party in the Scandal room. The room was adjusted accordingly so nothing was inappropriate.Grant was great with the kids. He made sure they understood what to do (and what not to do) and gave them hints when the Birthday Girl asked for them.It was a lot of fun and the kids had a great time. Thanks again to The Greatest Escape Games!
Great fun! Finished the gold mystery with only three minutes to spare. But even if we didnt finish, we still would have had a great time!
It was good but a little too hard. Maybe they can make some of the escapes easier because me and my whole family could not escape the Cabin we was locked in for an hour.
Got out with 2.5 mins to spare!!! ;My husband and I went here for our Anniversary and this was such an amazing experience. This was our very first escape room and were partnered with another group for the same room. I thought this would be a bad thing, but loan and behold, it was the best thing. We started out doing our own thing, but ended up working very well as a team. The lady on 9/9/17 at 12, was such a sweetheart and made it so exciting and definitely set the tone for the room. I cant wait to go back and try the other room/s. DEFINITELY a fun place to go
Had an amazing time, came for a team building event!
We had our sons eighth birthday party at Greatest Escape. It was a blast. They set the room up well for eight 8 year olds and provided just enough clues/hints to help them along. The staff was fantastic. We also used the upstairs room for cake/pizza/gifts. When the escape was over, all the kids were super excited and wanted to do it again! The only thing we regretted was our son got to do it before us! Well definitely be going back for a date night - it is very cool. Highly recommend!
Went in unsure if it was worth $30 for an hour. Left knowing that Ill happily pay that in the future to do it again. Would recommend doing with several friends or family as it is the sort of experience that is better shared.
Great Birthday Party! We took five 9-year-old girls to try the Cabin Room for a birthday party - they all LOVED it! The room is decorated beautifully - you are instantly transported back in time to an old gold-miners cabin. The game and clues are extremely clever. Mr. Grant was super helpful in giving the girls just enough clues to keep them on track, while making them think hard to come up with solutions. We also enjoyed their upstairs party room for cake and ice cream after the adventure. Thanks so much for an unforgettable 9th birthday for our daughter! Ron and Jenni
The room we did (Inventors Workshop) was super fun and challenging!! 10/10 Experience even though I almost killed my mom for talking over audio puzzles
Freaking awesome! Had such a blast. The room was difficult, but we got out at the last minute. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Cant wait to come back and try another room.
I have already gone to this place 3 times and every single time was a blast! Every person Ive spoken to about this place have nothing but great things to say. It is unique, interactive and the most fun you could possibly have in 60 minutes! Honestly, if you havent given it a try, please visit! The owner is very passionate about making the experience enjoyable and wants you to be in the moment. If youre ever in Colorado Springs, please go to this wonderful place!
Very clever. My first time but I really liked the setup.
Just attempted the heir challenge and I must say we had a blast! We were so close to finishing too! I will say he warned us we would get addicted and we truly are now, cant wait to start planning our next date night! hope they make another hard challenge like the Heir and wed be more than happy to try and escape it!
I purchased a certificate for 4. The certificate says call ahead. Over the past week, Ive called the number on the certificate (same as on website) a dozen times. Ive left four messages requesting a return call. Ive emailed. I even went to 801 S. Tejon when they were supposedly open to find the place locked up. It looks like Ive been ripped off. Apparently, no way to contact a human.Ask yourself if a business that operates like this deserves your money.
Or group split into two teams and competed. It was great fun and very challenging. Looking forward to the next time.
Too much fun! Went for a date night with two other couples. It was everyones first escape game, we werent sure what to expect! It wont be our last! Played the Scandal Room. The decorations were spot on with the story. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We got out...with 45 SECONDS to spare! Whew! Intense!!
Love going to this location! They changed the rooms since I last went was very fun!
Well done room with clever puzzles. One of the puzzles was broken causing some lost time, but overall fun experience.
This was my first escape game - part of my sisters birthday celebration. It was pretty fun. We got out of our murder mystery room with 2:33 to spare. They had a cool way of giving us clues if we wanted them, and it was fun to find hidden clues.
A great thought provoking experience fun for families or groups.
Not my thing
Good location, interesting...
Have done all three rooms at this place and each one is unique in what you need to do and stuff to find. Really enjoyed finishing each of these rooms.Only one negative part that messed with the heir escape room was that they misplaced two locks to wrong draws for clues. So it confused us and they eventually let us know to ignore the locks cause we had solved past them already. So it sucked that we kept wondering for about 30 mins why we didnt have those unlocked and were solving the final door, but it was still fun, sometimes its just small mistakes when they have to clean a room that had been destroyed by the previous customers and prepare the room for the next customers. But still an amazing experience every time. I hope they can do another difficult room like the heir. That challenge to get out of that one was good. Another difficult room like that would be super fun. Thanks guys, looking forward to another new room to do.
Did this for a work party. They were organized, friendly, responsive, and easy to work with. They were the only place that consistently answered the phone. Rooms were clean and the puzzles were challenging. Id definitely recommend. Only problem was one of the locks wouldnt open but they helped us.
Terrible... We got there 15 minutes before our timeslot as requested and nobody was there. We stayed about 5 minutes after our time and still no one came. We ended up leaving, which sucked because you have to pay in advance and theres no refunds...
Detailed room and fun puzzles to investigate and solve. Only reason for a 3 is a problem in the room. We were unable to escape in time due to a rooming glitch that was out of our control and full responsibility of the company. That part was disappointing since we travel all over and complete room escapes. We are competitive and enjoy successfully completing challenges. Hopefully after seeing this glitch, they can adjust. Overall, we still had a good time.
My family and I had a great time!
Staff left a little to be desired. They were young, but should be trained to be more professinal in appearance and behavior. Part of what we needed to solve the puzzle (fishing rod) had a part break, so we were unable to use it.
So fun !!! We went as a group of three in the cabin fever room. Highly recommend anyone who likes an intense game of solving clues to get out !!
This was a great date night. The puzzles were very difficult but we were able to figure it out. Lots of fun
A lot of fun for our party of four. Got the puzzles solved inside an hour. Looking forward to doing another escape room as it was just like playing an adventure game in real life.
What fun ! Possibly one of the best escape rooms we have been in. If you want fun, then come here....
Super fun! Friendly staff and interesting puzzles, set up to accommodate every age. Highly recommend!
Very very cool for us. Great set up, great story and a great time. A blast with the family and would be great with friends also. A must thing to do.
Fun themed escape room in a cool old Victorian house. We will be back!
I had a lot of fun, the puzzles where hard but do able. Great for any age 7 and up. Great team building excrescence or fun thing to do with friends.
I actually havent gone to this escape house, but was looking online for one for me, my children, and grandchildren could go to. The thing that struck me about the reviews I saw was that even though the proprietors admitted that some of the bad experiences were their fault, they did not extend the common courtesy of a free replacement visit or at least a discount for another visit. I cant count the number of complimentary meals I have received when I have brought attention to rotten or substandard service at restaurants. I return to the ones that take responsibility for their actions, but apparently this place wants you to pay for another try at a potentialy substandard experience.
So much fun with a lot of interesting aspects to Scandel room. Would recommend this place for sure! Experience director was awesome!!
Staff is very friendly and the place is clean. We did the Cabin Fever room and it was quite challenging with 2 adults and two 14 years olds but very fun.
Enjoyed the escape room even though we didnt escape. I would definitely come back.
Fun escape room did scandal. There were some issues with the clues I guess from the previous group but they give you clues to offset any issues
We did the hardest room and were 2 tasks away from escaping. It was so much fun!
Had a great time and really enjoyed the complexity and depth of the game. I thought this was going to be another lame thing my wife dragged me into, but I really dug it.We did the Cabin Fever game and made it out with only a few minutes left to spare. So yourself a favor and check this out whether you are a local or tourist. Thanks guys!
Lots of fun! A great experience and very challenging. Great staff too!
Very nice and fun.
Noone was there when we went and there were listed as openJust one sign saying by reservation only then I try to make a reservation and the only one available was 6pm well its only 1:00 and me and my family just walked a Mile from our motel to get there so either sit in the sun for 5 hrs or walk another Mile later.. no thanks!
It was A LOT OF FUN. You actually have to think so dont be underthinking the first half like I did.
Very fun scenarios, and helpful staff. Will absolutely come back.
So much fun! Staff was so nice, even offered my friends a job! :)
Great game! Would recommend trying it out, maybe doing all three puzzles
Fun and challenging! Great place to go with a family or work group!
Had a fun time trying to solve.
Great for groups under 12. A lot of fun.
Lovely people great escape rooms
Very disappointing. It used to be a good escape room with good employees but it has really gone downhill recently.
Highly recommend! So much fun
Well designed room, friendly staff, good price, and tons of fun
Had a great time, will be back.
Great time
Had a lot of fun on a Tuesday afternoon!
It was cool, enjoyed the challenge.
Difficult, different, and fun
Good times had by all
A really fun family experience!
It was a lot of fun until we solved the puzzle because one of the locks broke.
They just need to fix some of the escape machines
Fun and challenging
Yummy
They are amazing!
So much fun!
We loved it
So much fun!
