We had an amazing time today at the Skydeck Chicago. Impressive city views all around the 103rd floor and on the glass box, you’ll take the most beautiful pictures showing yourself on top of the wonderful city of Chicago. I definitely recommend it to anyone. If you come to visit Chicago and you don’t go there is like you didn’t go. Keep in mind that if you get the CITY PASS you’ll save money cause they’ll give you the expedited pass which allows you to skip long wait lines. I’ll rate it with four stars due to the short time they let you be on the glass box (1 1/2 minutes) and because of the bad customer service received at the time of printing out the pictures.
I appreciated all they have implemented to take proper precautions during covid.Im deathly terrified of heights, cause if God wanted me to be higher off the ground. He would have made me taller. But this was a great experience. I just wish the weather had been better given it was very cloudy so you couldnt see the skyline.Just know the elevator ride up is a whole other thing.Definitely want to go again
This was an experience that I initially had no desire to do. Whrn we went up and saw everything below look so small from that birds eye view, it was awesome. Looking down at the other tall buildings that we had previously walked by looking so high I at and now perceiving them as small was fascinating. The uppermost level with the viewing space that protrudes from the side of the building was entirely worth it. Very remarkable to stand so high up over nothing but hundreds of floors of air.
Highly disappointed. We went on a Saturday and they told us they were sold out and had to reserve a time, which was fine. Reserved a time, went in the next day and went up. Three lines for three elevators. We could not even explore at the other stops. The lines to the elevator was really long, which was expected considering this is a well known spot. Here is the reason for one star: the time. 2-3 hours in line for 1 min and 30 seconds??? I mean $26 for a minute? Not worth it. Also they print out your pictures, but I guess they just throw it away if you don’t purchase it? 360 was better in every aspect.
Although not a fan of heights by any stretch, we wanted to get into the Willis Tower in order to see the City at night from above. It definitely did not disappoint! It isnt cheap by any stretch to just access the tower, but the views from the top are incredible. There are many traps at the deck to take more of your money, but just wandering around, learning about the architecture, and taking in all of the views is absolutely incredible, and was worth the time.
So let me say this. I fear nothing...but walking out onto that ledge is a different feeling. I saw so many cool photos and thought about all the poses I would do but that changed once I got out there. The staff was polite and helpful. I think knowing that I was on a time limit made me even more anxious so if you can go at a not so busy time it might work in your favor. Giving you time to get comfortable in the boxed area first. Nice gift shop to grab a souvenir. Wanna go back though.
This place was awesome! my husband and I came here while in Chicago and loved it. Although they dont give you much time for pictures. Luckily we got some nice shots. Very fun!
Yesterday I went with my bf, and it really was not with it. I came here for a vacation and was excited to check this place out but I do not recommend going and wasting your money in all honesty. I was really disappointed. It’s $26 per person, and you only had 2 min to take your photos. We were trying to take our photos and since there was a lot of clouds they had told us to be patient when taking photos. But it was difficult. If I would have known that I was going to be given 2 min I would have never gone. I don’t recommend it. Go to Chicago 360 / tilt
This is a must for anyone looking for memorable impressions of one of the most beautiful and alive cities on the planet
The entrance is kind of weird, we got sent our of the building & had to walk around to another side. Our appt time was for 630pm & we waited in like about 20-30 minutes {this included the 3 elevator rides it took to get up there}. However everything was very organized & the staff sanitized each box after each group went inside it.
It is beautiful. A little scary if you are not good with heights but it was a wonderful experience.
The deck has awesome views, 103rd floor you can have a complete 360 view of Chicago.
We arrived a little late to our showtime but it was worth it, got to see the sunset, the scenery was beautiful seeing the the nightly lit city of Chicago.
Loved it! Very cool experience for the whole family!! Wish we had a bit more time tho.
As much beautiful the windy city itself is, its definitely a different story from atop the iconic and legendary Willis Towers 103rd floor skydeck. The city looks mythical and magical, to say the least. Its so magnificent that one can spend hours looking out of the glass observation decks and never get even remotely bored. It looks as if decades of American prosperity and architecture is concentrated in Chicago.
2nd Best experience I had in Chicago.. must do .. sky deck is nessesary when in town.. amazing sights.. FYI #1 experience was architecture boat ride through Chicago
Good views, there are nice facts about Chicago on the 103rd floor. Theres a nice waiting lounge to get to the observation deck. The box is a great unique experience.
Very nice place to hang around with your friends and family. Almost 1353 feet tall building. You can see the scenic view of entire Chicago. Also part of Michigan and Indiana state. The extra 4 feet long glass edge part will add the most adventurous experience in your life. Love this place.
103rd floor has a great view. Your ears pop twice on the way up.
I was very disappointed in our experience here. There was some bad weather that was clearing up and we called ahead to ask if there would be a problem with that. They said no that everything would be fine. When we get there, there is nothing but clouds you cant see the city at all. On the way down a manager said that if we talked to the managers on the lower levels it would be fine they would get us a rain check that would be good for a year. When we got down there they told us that we could schedule a rain check for tomorrow but that was it. I already have things booked for the next day. Deplorable client service, they are liars who are not worth the money.
Went monday afternoon after lunch. It was less crowded but took around 45mns for reaching skydeck floor due to wait for 3 elevators change, no complaints as its a safety precaution. The crew were kind and gave us enough time for experiencing the view and also taking photos since there were only very few people next to us waiting. Will be visiting again for night view.
If youd like to experience amazing 360 city view along with getting some fear - that is perfect place for that :) Be advised that capacity is limited during COVID era so you probably will be waiting for some time before get in.
Legit feel like I wasted my money. I was so excited to do Skydeck since this is my first time in Chicago & have seen so many beautiful pictures however when I got there they only give you 1 minute & 30 seconds. My boyfriend & I were rushing to take each other’s pictures so we weren’t even able to actually experience the view.I understand COVID may have caused changes however if I would’ve known it would’ve been like this I would’ve never done it. They should find a way to extend the time you’re in the box. At least to 5 minutes.I’m highly disappointed. So glad I didn’t pay for express.
Loved it. The wait wasnt as bad as I thought. Loved the night view
Booked tickets for this weekend on their website only to later find out that that the reservation didnt go through, didnt stop them from still charging my credit card though! When I called to let them know that I never got a confirmation email they said to just wait to see if the payment processes and if it doesnt to try booking again. Well it processed, yet they STILL didnt honor the reservation. I asked if they could help me re-book and they said no, I have to use the website. The same website that took my payment and didnt honor my reservation, and now all the time slots are sold out. Not worth the trouble, going to 360 Chicago. Garbage website and customer service.
If you want the best views of the from a skyscraper, this is the place. The views are amazing (specially at night).
So it said 7:30 but it literally took an hour to get to the top. Maybe let people know that it will take a long time to get to the top, because we had a reservation at a restaurant, and if I make a reservation for sky deck at 7:30, I expect to be up there at least within like 15 or 20 minutes. But it took literally an hour to get up there and constantly going through elevators and standings .Also you ONLY GET 90 seconds at the top. That’s a small detail no one mentioned nowhere while we waited and not on the website. I never saw it once in the whole ticket buying process. The people said YOU CANT GET BACK IN LINE but now I see someone saying you can get back in line and they are the owners of the sky deck. The staff literally lied to us, and we barely got any pictures because 90 seconds is nothing. The only good thing was that the manager gave me an extra 10 seconds for a picture of me laying down on the see through floor. That is why I haven’t given 1 star. Honestly I would like a refund, and you can contact me through here or I can give you my email. People NEED TO BE AWARE. The staff lied to us and the owners said that YOU CAN in fact get in line twice to stand on the sky deck. We don’t live in Chicago and now we only have a few pictures. Real bummer and it does piss me off that staff wasn’t aware that we could get back in line.
A Must-Visit if you’re visiting Chicago for first time. Awesome view of the city in all 4 directions. Plus City-Pass gets you up there two times- once during day and night time. The Ledge is an amazing experience too.-1 star for accessibility of the deck elevator. Way too much detour and stairs.
Despite it was rainy and cloudy, still it was fun!Gift shop really expensive
The view is amazing and part of money is going to help buy Ferris Bueller a new kidney. SAVE FERRIS!
Terrifying once you actually grasp how high up you are but a great experience.Bare in mind, due to COVID-19 sanitation and cleanliness precautions, staff members are not allowed to handle your phone to take photos of you here. Youll have to ask another patron.
The wait time it’s too long for only 2 minutes in the 102nd floor. The employees are hurrying you up, so you cannot enjoy the moments and take pictures properly. Very disappointed! Therefore, you have very restricted access, after you finish your time in the transparent part. You have to leave right away.
Fun activity but with Covid and social distancing it’s kind of a let down. We waited in various lines for about 45 minutes to an hour the top floors are very underwhelming. I came here many years ago and I remembered it being awesome - not worth it these days in my opinion. And they take everyone’s photo at the ledge, print it out to try and get you to buy it — and then when you don’t buy it, the photos just get thrown away. It’s so wasteful. Go to the signature room bar at the Hancock - it’s free and the exact same thing now.
Chicago sure looks great at night! This was an amazing experience. Not a very long wait, and best to purchase tickets ahead of time.
I do not recommend this place! The staff is basically just a bunch of extremely young, unprofessional, chatty kids who have no idea what they’re doing or what’s going on around them. The 360 observation desk at John Hancock is 100% better and worth your time and money (plus you will have someone available to take photos for you!... I was told beforehand this place provided a photographer as well but they don’t inform you of this until you’re walking out of the building lol).
The wait is too long. You make a reservation for a 30 minute time block, then when you get there you wait in line for 1.5 hours for 2 minutes in a skybox. There is no reason for the long wait, and the 30 minute reservation time is highly misleading. You cannot make plans for dinner, etc. after going here.Go once, and then never again
The sky deck was a really cool tourist attraction. Being from south Carolina and living now in Washington DC I dont get to see very many tall buildings. Being up that high in the clouds was just amazing. A view of the city. Not being able to see the ground at certain times, looking down only seeing clouds was very cool. It was very organized and didnt take too much time. I went on a weekday so the lines were very short.
My family and I were so excited about this and it ended up being AWFUL. Due to Covid you need to purchase tickets on Advance and reserve a time which we did. We waited in line over an hour. We warned about some fog and told we would be able to see 2 miles out. Every single window was Completely WHITE. No visibility of anything. NOTHING BUT WHITE. We spend so much money getting there, traffic, waiting in line to get there, waiting in line to see the Ledge, waiting in line to leave. This is pitiful that the business allowed this to happen. It was really sad and depressing because everyone was so upset and all the employees acted like it was nothing.
One of my best decision while visiting Chicago was to go to Willis tower for the Skydeck experience. There is no way I could have missed it.Mindblowing experience! It was so magical standing on the skydeck of the tallest and most iconic building of Chicago. Loved loved loved my time spent over there. The place was crowded but the administration was handling the crowd in a very nice manner. The money is totally worth it. You get to take professional photos too (which you will be charged separately)Those of you who are visiting Chicago, this should not be missed :)
Very Nice view. Creating Memories per the usual. Sweetest day getaway!
It was absolutely stunning. My fiancé and I absolutely loved it. I would definitely recommend going at night because everything is so lit up.
Skydeck Chicago is a fun and great place to visit if you want to soak in some city views. You are able to buy tickets online or at the door. I went during the morning so it was less busy, and I got to the top quickly. Just a quick heads up, before going up you do go through a security check. To take photos at the glass floors, you do have to line up but it usually goes pretty quick as there is a worker monitoring that area. There is also a Shake Shack at the bottom of the tower if you want some lunch after ( or before) visiting the Sky Deck! Overall, a great experience!
You pay so much for tickets and then finally when you go to the point where you can click photos for which you have paid, the lady the managers they just push you out after like 30 seconds. They promise to give you 90 seconds but instead they come and shout after 30 seconds. Very bad behavior of the lady and people monitoring on the deck (103 floor).
Unpleasant experience! We are aware about the restriction due to the pandemic but the the guidelines taken by this tourist attraction is extremely RUDE.First of all they charge you $30 for the experience, and they make you do a 2 hours line 30 min before the time you are scheduled.Every area close to the windows is not allowed to see. After the 2 hours of line the allow you to stay in the photo room for ONLY 2 MINUTES, which is not enough time is you group is more than 2, not even enough time to enjoy the view!!!The customer service overall is terrible, unacceptable behaviour, we are expecting to at least be treated in a proper way! They should take corrections about these issues because many people is coming to chicago wishing to enjoy the Skydeck and they don’t even know how angry and disappointed is!
The Sears Tower staff did an impeccable job with enforcing social distancing, I was very impressed. For tourists (or people who are visiting for the first time) A lot of people are complaining about the time limit...before COVID, you were crammed into the Skydeck with other people, you almost never got a solo pic in the deck pic unless you went really late or really early. If you want extra time, go first thing in the morning. I went at 9am. I didn’t mind the time restraint because we actually had the space to ourselves, and it’s wiped down after each person, so we were able to lay down for pics
Incredible experience at the Willis Tower Skydeck and The Ledge. We waited 2.5 hours to go up to the 103rd floor and experience the breathtaking views of the city. It was definitely worth the wait, and I cant wait to do it again. The staff were very friendly and did a great job keeping the lines in order and moving along. Bathrooms and water fountains were available while waiting. Once at the top, you can experience The Ledge. It is a terrifying, and beautiful thing to see panoramic views of the city all around and underneath you! Just a bummer it only lasts 60 seconds.
Must see while in Chicago. Best time is sunset
The views are spectacular. From my experience taking both the Skydecks ( Willis tower and 360 Chicago), I felt like Willis tower is a bit more commercialized rather focusing on tourism where on the other hand 360 Chicago has both better views and good management. I had good experiences on both the places and both have wonderful architecture and awesome views
Need to visit again when the visibility is 100%. We went for 0 visibility to just see how the clouds cover look. Its like you in a flight. The box windows view was breathtaking. You get chills standing on the clear glass and looking down. If you are not tight on pocket you can visit without getting the full view as its an experience in itself.
The view is absolutely beautiful and amazing. The line is long and it takes some time but the whole experience is worth the time and the money.
Fun for the family. Well organized. Nice people
Overall, my experience was good. They have implemented timed entry. The customer service was wonderful as we had to change our timed entry for a later available time and it was quite simple to do so. While the time entry works better for overall organization, we still had an hour wait time before allowed entry to the Skydeck. The unfortunate part is that once in the skydeck, you are only allowed 60seconds for parties up to 3, and 90 seconds for larger groups! So, you wait an hour just for 60-90 seconds??? NOT OKAY! Especially after paying about $26. They should allow at least 2-3 minutes to be fair.My second picture is from the 60th floor, which is one of the floors you’ll be waiting on until getting to the skydeck. The view is overall awesome, just wish we had more time to enjoy it.
I want to share my bad visiting experience at skydeck 08/29. We booked 9pm visit and all things are good except last minute took photo at lodge. We waited for 30 mins as everyone did, our previous groups spent about 5-10 mins to enjoy taking photos, but the staffs only gave us 1 min for all 4 of us. The staffs keep pushing us leave! That’s not fair!! I understand you are almost close but why only apply the 1 min policy to us? That’s extremely bad experience for us and no one enjoy the time we spent here.
Really I love this great place when I seen chicago views . Recommend to all visitors from all over the world.
30 minutes to get the ticket, 45 minutes to take the elevator and another 45 minutes line to 60 seconds photo on a glass floor.. views are great but if you are in a short weekend trip you may spend your time wisely depending on your preference. As I said views on a clear date are great but if you want to make better use of your time better walk the city or go to a museum.
Only downer is the wait time, but yo, be realistic! Its a major landmark, expect to wait. It is sooo worth it every time I go and I think extremely reasonably priced for the experience.
Wife and I had a weekend trip to Chicago and this was a staple that my wife had on her list of places to see.We booked ahead and went with fast pass and I’m EXTREMELY happy we did because upon arriving, we had seen the regular wait time was around 2+ hours. That’s to be understood obviously being a big tourist spot. The views were incredible and definitely a highlight of our weekend trip aside from all of the amazing food.
Incredible views of the city in every direction. I recommend going in the morning to try and beat the lines/get more time on the ledge. Additionally if you want to buy the city pass it comes with a morning and evening visit so you can see it during the day AND the night.
Its a great place to view all the city of Chicago!
Amazing view of the city of Chicago, I will only give them 3 star because of short amount of time they give you to take your picture we couldn’t even take a good picture and after the 2 minutes pass they will rash you out there so quickly that you wouldn’t even know.
Bought tickets in advance because visiting from out of state but picked a day with zero visibility. Don’t get a refund but don’t get a experience either. Paid money to ride the elevator not as fast as it was before lol could have save money rode the elevator at the hotel. Should have been offered a voucher or refund. Customer service?
This was very nice, to see, the tallest building in Chicago! Loved it
$26 for an adult, currently open Fri/Sat/Sun. There is about total 30-40 min of queuing for three different elevators. Im not sure if this is COVID-19 related, or if it is always like this. Doesnt have a bar (unlike Chicago 360) so no ability to sit and admire the amazing night views. Therefore feels a bit rushed, once you are past the elevators, so you cant soak it up properly. More queuing to go in the glass windows where people were spending a good 5 minutes taking photos. Dont get me wrong, this is one of the highest and best views in America! But, overall felt a deflating experience - maybe its better in normal times.
I absolutely love observatory decks and seeing a city from up top! I have been to this Skydeck twice and both times it never disappointed. The view from above is incredible. This is my all time favorite skydeck observatory for the reason that it has a box that pops out and when you step on the glass you get a thrill like you are floating in the air. The elevator ride is super fast so before you know it you’ll be on the 103rd floor!
It was exciting to be that high up and see through the floor youre standing on! I recommend this experience.
Very sad to find out that was close but I understand is for my safety
This place was so cool. The views are incredible and the staff is friendly. They have a great gift shop and incredible views from what feels like the top of the world. I highly recommend visiting this attraction. During busy times there can be a bit of a wait, yet there are exhibits on the construction to view while waiting in line.
Really cool experience. Awesome view
Must see while in Chicago. Best time is sunset. Awesome place
Definitely buy tickets ahead of time to save yourself some wait in line. The other option is the Tilt which is new too. The Willis tower is although a landmark building of the city so this was more attractive, although will great phenomenal views at both. Get only one minute on the ledge
This place is awesome!!! My son and I are from Massachusetts and we can not wait to go back!
This was a great experience to see all of Chicago and other neighboring states! They said it was a 45 minute wait but it went very quickly. They had good organization and kept the line moving. We were able to take plenty of photos in the 60 seconds. It was also cool to see how tall this building was as you rode up the elevator. It’s a great change to take some funny pictures with all of Chicago below!
It was an awesome experience to try out with my boys. My sons best friend is visiting from Wichita KS, so we brought him out to see. The Ledge was an amazing thing to experience, love our pictures!
Would highly recommend buying tickets ahead of time online to cut the long lines. It’s a pretty cool to go 17 miles per hour or 24 feet per second up a 103 story building. View is phenomenal and the glass-floored boxes are a thrill. You can see up to four states on a clear day and you can really appreciate Chicago’s layout from this height.
Highy disappointed. The staff was rude and clearly did not want to be there. I understood because of covid they were going to be changes, but I paid $60.00 for 2 tickets and we got 1 minute in the skydeck! 60 seconds and then they told us to move along!! WILL NOT RECCOMEND TO ANYONE.
Different sceneries and amazing view, beautiful at night time. Standing on the Ledge was a Awesome feeling
Nice tower, transparent glass, little scary but good adventure.
AMAZING!!! Definitely a MUST DO in your lifetime if you in Chicago. Can be somewhat pricey but without a doubt worth it. Breath taking views!! Lifetime memories. Be prepared for a wait time tho. Me n my son checked in at 1:30pm and left at 6pm.
They give you 2 minutes to take pictures on the Skydeck. I know its to keep it running smooth, but I truly dont need a 30 second countdown. Just FIY if you buy the express pass is ALSO 2 minutes. FYI again if you get a photographer is still 2 minutes on the skydeck. You guys can be less strict when theres barely a line. my 2 cents about this. I used up $60 dollars on ubers to take me from airport to the skydeck AND $50 to purchase the skydeck tickets. Invested $110 dollars for a 2 minute view. Not worth it at all.
Worthy to visit while you are visiting this city! Amazing veiw but be prepare to wait two hours or more. Highly recommended!
30$ for a minute, fighting between photo or enjoy the view
Fantastic views, around $25 admission per adult, which I think is reasonable. Amazing experience and something every visitor should do. We visited Christmas day, was not busy at all.
Its the top of Willis Tower. If you need to make a choice between this and 360 Chicago Observation Desk, go with Skydeck! Or you if you are staying at least couple of days, you may buy city pass which will allow you visit both and couple or more tourist attractions for cheaper prices. Deals may change from time to time, but search for it. See this beautiful city from the top of this building, have a drink or a meal there.
Beautiful and amazing viewUp in the clouds
Awesome place and a fantastic top view of the city from the top of this Willis Tower at a staggering height of 1450 feet. If you are acrophobic you guys must try this place. Because I am very scared to land my feet on the glass but once I landed I am comfortable and enjoyed the awesome view from the top. People will go crazy here posing for weird photos and with wild expressions. Fun place to hangout with friends. There is a donuts place at the entrance of the tower in the ground floor named Do-rite and chicken. These are one the best donuts I have ever had. They are very creamy and delicious. If you love donuts u must try them. Looking forward to visit Skydeck again.
Beautiful views. Rather expensive for what you get to do and see at the top. The ledge is cool, but weird location, couldve been more on the city side. Overall, beautiful, places to eat and places to shop. Definitely a great place to get incredible views of the city.
Best View Of Chi-town
One of the best experience ever happened in my life, great views of the city from top, the staff is simply amazing and very welcoming, very happy to had the chance to go there, if you ever go to chicago you MUST visit the skydeck.
An absolutely wonderful experience,me and the wife had a great time.the view was incredible.the staff were very nice and accommodating.covid measures were in place.
Great attraction. Good all round views. This is one of the 2 famous observations decks in Chicago. The other being 360 Chicago. Both have their charms. The Skydeck has the additional benefit of The Ledge being included in the admission ticket. The Ledge is an all glass balcony that juts out of the Willis Tower. It makes for a great place for selfies and group photos.Visiting the Skydeck after sundown is also a great idea when downtown Chicago is lit up by thousands of lights. The nighttime views are a different experience.Recommended. Worth the visit.
One Star because The BAD EXPERIENCE I had with my family. You have 2 minutes to take pictures in the “Glass Box” (Or 90 seconds if you go by yourself). It doesn’t matter if your group are20 people or 2 people.Same 2 mins timeframe .They don’t care! The manager is rude and close minded withzero leadership and the staff treats you Horrible!Bad organization, that’s why you have to waitforever in line. Now, The views are AMAZING!Definitely a place to visit in Chicago, but be prepare physically and mentally to wait forever to get to the Top of the building to have your“90 Seconds “ of fame to take probably 1 picture.So... GOOD LUCK!
What an awesome experience. Breathtaking views and a ton of history of the building to read through. We went on a weekday and there were no lines or long waits. I like that you could walk around at your own pace. A once in a lifetime experience.
It was so much fun and i had the best time
This place has a great view. You can see 3 other states besides Illinois from the top. The place has so much history. Its not the newest/nicest building but it has its charm. The skydeck is pretty cool. Id recommend to go when theres no vacation. The line can get pretty long.
Outstanding, expedited tickets worth the increase in price imho
We visited the Skydeck at 9:30 am, we took 1 hour to get to the Top, even that there were Few visitors!!I can’t imagine how long we would had to wait if it was crowded !!!! We were kicked out after2 minutes of taking pictures with my familyof three (3) people. The people that work there are very rude. The Funny part was that once we were on the top (nobody was waiting in line to take pictures... and the guy told us to leave when it was empty.)Nobody advised us that we just had only(2 minutes). No signs at all. Not even when waiting in line from elevator to elevator going to the Top of the building.I searched on their webpage as well ...and it doesn’t say the 2 mins to be prepared. Also, Our friends came with us (a family of 5 people), they got the same (2 minutes) not enough time obviously, 2 of them had to buy tickets again to get their pictures.I talked to the Manager to try to get any option to take the pictures missing or a discount and his reaction was rude, reacting with a bad actitud telling us “those are the rules”.Great Views after all !!! The only good thing.
If there is one place you shouldn’t miss it is the sky deck in Chicago. Make sure you go on a clear day. We went at 5pm so we could see the daylight and the night (unintentional) there is so difference in process.Buy tickets on Groupon they are cheaper. They don’t have student discounts. We paid 40 and otherwise they were charging us 53.It’s a little scary at first but trust me once you stand on the glass corner it’s amazing. You can stand multiple times in line for pictures if you didn’t like it the first time, they give each one 10 mins on the glass corner.
