Thoughly enjoyed the experience. Went on the recommendation of someone that lived in Chicago as a place to go (as a tourist). Ended up going on the same day but as it was last minute, just as I was booking the ticket the opportunity to buy online had lapsed. The plus is that I headed to the box office and avoided the $5 booking fee but you will run the risk of not getting a ticket if it gets sold out.
Best nightclub in CA! Two different floors depending what your looking for, you cant go wrong ! Thurs.- Saturday its the spot to be at! My host Jonny Gatsby is the man to go through if your looking for a great time! Gave me and my party the ultimate experience and we will definitely be coming back.
We always have a pretty good time seeing Second City. The only reason I say pretty good is because Im never a huge fan of the seating or the food and drinks. Be careful getting there too early, they might sit you off in the far corner (happened to us). That being said, the shows are normal great for a laugh and showing friends a fun time.
The show was great! However, the service was horrid. We had to ask 2 people over the course of half an hour to even get a waiter to our table. The seats were also pretty hard to stay in.
Fun place. We saw She the People there and had a fantastic time! And there was plenty of parking.
It’s a nice place staffed by nice people
Had a blast, great talent. If you cant take a joke stay home.
A good place dining with a group or solo. Good sushi and atmosphere
Waitstaff service took a while to arrive but was great when it did. Drinks and food were fine. Comedy was first class.
Always have a great time hanging out in this place
Really cool venue. Great menu, staff is great too
Great experience. A talented and unique cast. We ended up here because the second city show was sold out. I didnt realize until we got there that the two clubs are associated and share talent. You should set aside time to see a performance or two.
Go see She Power! Amazing cast that had you laughing and cheering!
Very nice room. Intimate lighting. Not a bad seat in the theater.
Funny, funny, funny! Staff was very accommodating to a large group! Thank you!
Holiday Improv, suggested by my sister. A nice change of pace from the Nutcrackers or the dull dinners out when you need to see the family in December; Improv isnt for all-like my wife-but they are good at what they do (and in the case of my show with mostly terrible and unamusing audience suggestions as well). The buffet brunch was good too. Saw the old theatre downstairs for the first time in almost 30 years, as well.
Great performance and service. Space is limited so if youre tall expect to be a bit uncomfortable.
A great theatre and funny talent. But dress in layers because the theatre can be uncomfortably cold. Also, avoid sitting near the piano because it will tough to hear the performers. Its better to sit father back in the middle than close and near the piano.
Super show, laugh out loud comedy. Equally offends everyone. Dont take it personally!
Great comedy club! We saw Dana Gould tonight and he was fantastic!! The staff was friendly and helpful, but they do need more servers to ensure people are not waiting 20 minutes for a drink. Everything else about the club is great and we cant wait to go back.
The group I saw here was great!! Cute place
It feels like a mall on the outside, but like the best of Chicagos comedians on the inside. The seating is tight, so try to go with a group of 4-5 people, otherwise, youll be sitting in a strangers lap.Food and drink options are pretty decent, the best deal is to get a pitcher if you plan on drinking more than 1 beer on your - which always helps at a comedy show.We saw Jerrod Charmichael here last weekend, hes an intelligent, funny guy. The comedians who opened for him were also pretty talented. It might have been the beer, but I was laughing through all three sets.
Really fun night with friends!
Attended the first Up Scale.. Jazz + Stand Up. We really enjoyed ourselves at the show. The only awkward part is the seating, but I get the reasonings. Be prepared for extremely tight seating.
Visited for the first time for one of Pete Holmes shows there roughly a year ago. Fun place to see comedy in Chicago. Its a lot less crowded than the likes of Zanies. Good beer list, nice service. Id still prefer assigned seats, rather than first-come, first-served sort of events.
My wife and I along with our adult children attended the Holidazed and Confused show last evening. The first half of the shoe was pretty funny making light of lifes situations around the Holiday season. Unfortunately the second half of the show was a full out assault on Christianity! During one of the most sacred times of the year for Christians, the comedians accused Jesus of demanding lude sexual acts of his disciples! At a time of year, celebrated around the world as Jesus birth, it was NOT funny! This was completely out of place in the show and unnecessary! Several actually walked out and frankly wish I would have as well!If youre a Christian and celebrate the birth of Christ, or respect those that do, Id recommend you not see this show! This is the second time my family and I attended a Holiday show at Second City. Our first time, several years ago, was great and very funny with the comedians joking about all of our dysfunctional families around the holidays!Very disappointed with our experience this time!
GOOD PLACE TO SPEND FOR ENTERTAINMENT!
Had a great experience here! My first time at a comedy club and I had a blast. Food is just ok but great drinks and amazing shows!
New comedy shows all the time so thats good. I would suggest getting there before or when the doors open for a good seat or getting dinner reservations for the theater.
We watched the ok cupid satire based on real events. It was a great, hilarious show. The drinks were pretty expensive but otherwise a great place to go to watch a show with friends or on a date.
Came here for the show Women in Space. It was very fun and smart. Table service for drinks is amazing!
Love the bar and staff!
The comedians are great, the facility is clean (albeit cramped), food is pretty good, drinks are drinkable (not swanky cocktails, just elevated mixed drinks), and the wait staff is attentive without busting up the show. Theres an ease and comfort found at the improv shows and the actors/comedians really connect with the audience.
An amazing show by incredibly talented sketch and improv artists. A must see.
Had a great time. Show was funny and was called to the stage! Great show: game night
While its the little brother/sister of the famous Famous City, the shows are easier to get into and affordable... The talent/cast members are nearly as good...
Saw a few shows here over the years. Great place, fun drinks, and world class shows.
Great show. Very cheap tickets can be had if you do some searching online, especially on week nights.
A Wonderful & Amazing Experience
Great place for some great laughs! Must see for Chicago! Drinks are expensive though
If you are in Chicago for vacation or just visiting this is a must even on a Low Budget. There is a very cheap and awesome show, for only $12 you can see the rising stars of the school. Recommended: One Trick Phony
A great comedy club experience. A beautiful venue, not a bad seat in the house. THe staff is super friendly and attentive. You will regurlarly see national headliners and get exposed to local comedians who are on the rise. You can get food and drinks delivered to your table during the comedy shows. Close to the el and buses. Great for a first date.
It was a great time with my hubby, the place was clean and everyone was friendly
Good venue to watch some improv or comedy shows. They have multiple stages in the building.
Ive seen some of the my favorite performers at this club (Kyle Kinane, The Undatable Tour, Mr. Show show, CollegeHumor show, Ian Baggs) and Ive always had an outstanding experience. The staff is friendly and the food is DELICIOUS. I highly recommend seeing a show here at least once.
Saw the #DateMe show and had a great time.
I love the show there
The show was pretty short and just wasnt funny, but it seems like a nice theater.
Awesome placeToo bad parking is expensive!
Excellent show
Awesome place
It is always a good experience seeing shows at Second City.
Amazing!!!!
Entertaining and engaging show
Amazing show in a nice theater
Great show and cast everytime!
Wonderful shows, attentive waitstaff, and strong drinks.
Havent seen a bad show yet here
Second City never fails to make me cry of laughter
Improv!
Hilarious.
Imagine going to SNL but never leaving Chicago!
