Nice little walk around the concrete trail, which is a loop. So, wheelchairs or walkers can use this without getting into any mud or muck or hard to traverse terrain. There is a dirt trail that is accessed via the concrete loop, which in turn, leads to another trail. Plenty of walking available. After the rainy, windy weather of last night and this morning, there is plenty of tree debris, branches and leaves and such, strewn along all the trails. Nice little stroll in a secluded little nature preserve, in our neighborhood. First time weve been there, but weve been aware of it for a little while. Did see a few people, but distance was maintained. Recommend, if you need a little walk, a bit of fresh air, and a need to get out for awhile.
Im obsessed with this hidden gem. The trails arent very wide like other parks in Charlotte but I feel like I am in a rainforest. It gets muddy easily so dont wear shoes you dont want to get get dirt on.
Great little hidden gem in Charlotte. Feels like you’re in the woods in the mountains, great little getaway in the city. I think I prefer Reedy Creek over this one but this is by far better than something like Freedom Park for me. I prefer this over the greenways in the city too. Feels more natural and less man made.
Well marked trails. For fresh air and nature more than exercise or speed walking.
Beautiful, open, clean paved trail through the trees ending with clean handicap accessibile bathrooms. Since a great place to bring ur dog with you it could use potty bag poles to make sure the pavement remains as clean.A wonderful nature stroll where you cant get lost!
So easy. The loop is basically a greenway through the woods and empties out at basketball courts a tennis court and small park and kids play ground. There are spaces. to rent for a BBQ or outdoor meeting and a nice bathroom by the evergreen nature preserve. The parking is very limited to 8 or so spaces 2 handicapped directly by the bathroom.
Wonderful forest preserve and trail system that connects to Sheffield Park. Restrooms and parking available.
I go through here all the time with family. We LOVE the pure sounds of nature. And the peaceful calm of the swaying trees. It is my favorite place to walk, and helps makes a city like this seem to be frozen in time. Definitely recommend.
Good for mountain biking and quick short hikes. My family and I love it. Definitely coming back for mountain biking
If you have less time but wanna be in peace and hang out in nature or do physical stuff like running, want to take your pet out in open space, this place is not much big but fits within you time. There are playgrounds for children basketball court, grill place and its really close to charlotte uptown. Its quite well directed and spacious for come and go by.
Flat, short, easy. Paved or nature trails.
A nice relaxing walk in the woods so close to home!
Great green space located centrally in East CLT. Easy to overlook but worth a stop!I walked all of the trails with my dog two days after heavy rains and the trail was very swampy at parts. Seems like there is some work to be done for drainage so make sure to not go too soon after a downpour. The woods are nice, trails pretty evenly graded, only a little bit of washout that I noticed.Since this is tucked between neighborhoods and major roads you will almost always hear the drone of society making it hard to truly immerse oneself, but convenience always has a price!
Great little walk for those around the area.
Awesome the lakefront was beautiful and peaceful and is great to do a barbecue or picnic, only problem is the landscape/ trails really not sturdy slippery and kind of dangerous to people.
Ive lived in Charlotte since the mid 80s and just found this place 2 weeks ago. What a gem. My family went to Evergreen for a hike the Friday after Thanksgiving. We loved it! Great place for human and dog walkers.
Quite little get away with very clean bathrooms
Great for walking your dog
Love the trails I built and help maintain
Great place to walk for exercise. The trails are nicely shaded and relatively clear. Make sure you pay close attention to the trail matters, though, because there are a few unmarked trails.
Clean space and nice trails
My daughter told me about it, and it was amazing!
Perfect gentle sloping trails. Well marked and some paved wide enough for wheelchair. I have some friends that are confined to the wheelchair so I was paying special attention to that. Bring your own water, though.
Well kept, quiet little park and nature trail. Its such a nice little escape from the city. We love it here
Nice place for walking
Peaceful natural woodlands right in the middle of Charlotte.
The trails are beautiful and this nature preserve is in a great location just a few miles east of Uptown. I would give it a 5-star rating, but both times that my wife and I have gone there in the last couple weeks the gate was shut (not allowing cars to park on site) and the restrooms were locked.
The park certainly has its pros & cons, When i go for a hike, I like to disconnect and embrace nature. However, these trails did not offer any of that, it was noisy the entire time, from loud vehicles on the road to construction to kids in school. Trails are short, there basically novice all around. So if your looking for a short and mild hike, this might just be the place for you. its a family friendly place to take the kids or simply walk the dog. Furthermore, the trails are scenic, from tall trees to a creek and well preserved, In addition the trails are very well coordinated.
Great place to walk your dog. Plenty of trails to walk on.
This is a cool little place to go and walk your dog or just go out and enjoy the trails with peace and quietness. If you like to have a place to hear the nature without alot of background noises this is the place to go. Theres not alot of trails to cover but still enjoyable secluded spot.
Very nice tranquil hiking
Recently re-dedicated for 20th anniversary of establishment as a nature preserve. Nice new signs added marking trails. Tennis and basketball courts nearby.
Its a nice quiet park with shady trails in the middle of a busy city!
Great trails! quiet and peaceful
Surprising small park with great trails
Its a small paved area with a a but bigger trail. Love to come here to run.
Love this place, not huge but big enough. Beautiful trails and my dog loves it!
Nice and quiet Park the kids enjoyed the playground
The preserve itself is very nice. Quiet and relaxing. My only complaint is that the restrooms were unsatisfactory. Someone should really be checking them more often. I would have rather peed in the woods.
Great for a short walk
Beautiful. Connecting with nature always is somewhat therapeutic for me.
Small concrete loop with a decent nature trail that tees off of it. The nature trail is pretty long and takes you to Sheffield Park. Ive myself spotted a coyote within 100 ft of me, so be careful. Also, dont walk alone. Bring someone with you because theirs been reports of men following women through the woods.
Nice trails, easy to walk. Great nature views.
New park that was added about a year ago public bathrooms for men and women private sitting areas with picnic tables that you can rent from the city for parties or whatever. Very nice quarter-mile paved trail and another three quarter mile Trail through the woods. Kept up very well you can bring your dogs theres even a water bowl there.
Interesting place.. parking is very less, 4-5 cars max
Evergreen has all the potential in the world. The addition of a parking area, restrooms, a short paved trail, water fountain, and doggie waste stations at the entrance off Norland is wonderful. For some reason the gate to the parking lot was closed for many months, which was a waste — but now that it is April (2018) — the gate has been open and people are making use of the facilities. Trails wind through the trees and are pretty easy to navigate. Note that theres an increase in the types of trail users — dog walkers, mountain bikers. Heres hoping everyone does their part to keep the trails clean!
Short nature walk. Picnic tables. Clean bathrooms.
Beautiful little nature trails tucked right in the east side of Charlotte. Surprisingly quiet considering its location, scenic and totally worth a look!
A beautiful slice of nature with tall stretching trees and lots of raptors
I love this place. Trails are well marked. Great place to walk out of the sun. Calm and quiet.
Nice place to sit down at to ease your mind off alot of things???
A nice hidden gem in the heart of the Queen City!
Nice and Clean i would suggest anyone to check them out.
Peace and quiet. Great trail for walking dogs.
