Fun venue for a Charlotte Checkers game. Staff working the event were very friendly and helpful. The gentleman taking our tickets demanded a fist bump from each of us before scanning our tickets. He really set the mood for the game!!! Great atmosphere and will definitely be back for another game. Only issue is getting to the event off of 74. Can be a hassle, but it appears they do the best they can with the limited space.
Bojangles Coliseum is an older yet intimate venue. With the renovations completed in the last few years, it truly has came back to life as one of the coolest places to go to an event. The concourses, restrooms, and concession stands are tight, and hard to maneuver at times. The parking lot is in rough shape, and hasn’t really been modernized.
Small ice rink stadium for the Charlotte Checkers hockey team. They also have shows, concerts and other events here.Second time here. Its a nice place to come and see minor league hockey.Reasonable prices for food, concessions and extras.Easy Parking, easy entrance and easy back on highway to get home after a game. The property is older and is finally receiving much needed capital improvements. Clearly the parking lots could use a layer of blacktop along with more bathrooms etc.Bring your family and enjoy a nice night out!Very kid friendly!
Great coliseum with great sound. Most seats are all good seats. Staff is very nice and helpful. Bathrooms were very clean and had attendants in them if you needed anything. If we lived closer we would try and visit this coliseum more often. I really enjoyed my time there.
The parking is adequate and well lit. If you have a handicap sticker there is PLENTY of spots to park. The food is highly priced but food at any event is expensive. Also you do have to go thru metal detectors so be sure to check your pockets before going in so you dont have to walk back to your car.Seating is very tight so be sure you have enough space for you and your friends ( would suggest end seats) so you can see the show.I found it amazing how they transform the arena, from hockey, to shows, to graduations, to a circue de Soleil show.Conveniently located aff the highway and easy to get to either by car or uber/lyft.
Clean and well staffed. Hockey is great to watch here with out hometown Checkers. Been to a few trade shows here as well. Easy parking!
Spur of the moment decided to check out the Calder Cup Champions, The Charlotte Checkers! We usually go to a few game every season. Its always so much fun! Very family oriented. The kids always try so hard to get on the Jumbotron, its so funny to see. We go good seats, not the best, but we did buy tickets an hour before the game. Everyone was friendly, parking wasnt bad when it was time to leave. Cant wait til next time. BTW, the Checkers lost this one 4-2 to the Scranton Penguins(Shhhhh.....I was ok with that, Im a Pittsburgh Penguins Fan, too).
Had a great time with our sales team here. The Checkers fans are great and the stadium is pretty great! One of team mates rode the zamboni!
The Coliseum was a little underwhelming to be honest. Its a pretty old building, quite small, and a little cramped. Nothing terrible about it, but it wasnt particularly good. The concessions were very good and the service was fast. The food was exception, but they ran out of lids for the 32oz cups. Its a little difficult to not spill your drink when the cup holders sit at an angle. If the person beside you doesnt see your drink it could easily spill or get knocked over. The stadium is relatively easy to find, right off the boulevard, well marked. You cant really miss it. Parking seemed well organized and not unbearable. Mind you, I did arrive extremely early for the event. Good thing about the stadium is that since it is small you can pretty much get a good seat no matter where you sit
Great experience this past Saturday. We watched Carolina Energy versus Aviators . Carolina Energy did a great job, our children had lots of fun. Be prepared with a sweater, it stays cold. Very clean and variety of food available.
Enjoyed our weekend in CLT. Enjoyed the venue...minus the construction and the $10.00 bucket of popcorn!Keep growing Charlotte! But overall.....Had a great time at this event.
Cirque du Soleil is as beautiful as ever! This is a fairy tale for children and adults, which makes you believe in miracles! Whoever has not been to the OVO show, I advise you to definitely attend this event! We went as a family and everyone was delighted! So buy tickets and enjoy the fairy tale!
Really nice space for large events like this graduation ceremony. The air flow was really good. And with good ushers everyone can get in and out smoothly. There is parking immediately outside the venue.
We saw the Charlotte Checkers Pink In The Rink game. Easy to move around and navigate. Parking is smooth and easy.
Good smaller venue. No bad seat, due to the size. Concessions are small and dont handle crowds well. Dated sound system made it hard to hear announcements. Easy in and out. Very friendly staff and security. I like going to an event here with family. Parking is easy and safe.
Charlotte Checkers game. Loved it! Building was clean and felt safe. Escorts and Workers were ALL very friendly, helpful, polite and professional.... even down to the parking lot attendants. Wish the food and drink was a bit more economical for ALL to enjoy. Love The Biscuit
My granddaughter graduated there. Beautiful
Time for minor league hockey or special events, the Bojangles Coliseum is the place to be. An overall great experience very enjoyable with an atmosphere that fits the billing. We enjoy our visits and the entertainment that comes with it. If you need a place to hangout or just enjoy the time together I recommend stopping by.
Went here for the Toby Mac Hits deep tour and was not disappointed. Great venue - really not a bad seat in the place. We got the “nose bleed” seats and our kids loved them! :) The parking situation though? What a mess trying to get out. If you don’t want to deal with it, I’d advise leaving early from whatever event take you to this place.
Ovo bound.. downtown clean facility cant wait to see it upgraded.
Had a great time at the Charlotte checkers hockey game. Being a large family of nine everybody had a blast. Our kids range from seven months to 19 years. First time coming to a hockey game. Great food and entertainment would recommend to any family.
Seats were comfortable. Vendors and rest rooms were easily available. Parking was easy. Great experience. They didnt use the jumbo tron. I was disappointed at that.
The Old Old Coliseum lives. Its not state of the art, doesnt have luxury boxes, but it has character and decent views. Its a wonderful place to watch some minor league hockey! Go Checkers!
Its great and large enough for concerts, school graduations and sport games. The parking lots are very organized and they have lots of options for food and drinks in the hallways. They also sell alcohol inside
I enjoy this place every time I visit but Fantasia was absolutely AMAZING!! Best Birthday gift of 2019!
Pretty good place for events. The building design means there are no it any bad seats, no columns to obstruct the view. Concession placement seems well thought out and enough bathrooms not to spend too much time away from the event.
Decent size. Seats are more comfortable, i.e. larger, the higher you sit. Can be a little chilly inside because also used for hockey games. Typical vendor food, mass produced with little seasoning and uneven cooking. Cant go wrong with the go-to popcorn and ice cream!
I enjoyed Fantasia. She was very entertaining. She put on a great show
Fun Checkers game experience! Allow enough time for parking beforehand be patient when exiting the game and parking lot. There are limited exits.
Across the street at the old bowling alley some random old dude just walks in and starts painting the floor with a broom. Apparently he does this everywhere. Looks really cool regardless.
Gotta love the checkers and very few bad seats. Extremely affordable for hockey. A little pricey for other events. Cant wait for the new concourse to he finished. It is going to add a whole new experience to visit thus venue. I actually have even played hockey here. The ice surface is pristine and the experience playing there is amazing.
Love the parking, most of the people who work there are very nice (Aside from the guy who was a jerk about my camera, who held his fingers less than half an inch apart and said the lens has to be that big to bring it in. He was very patronizing and it wasnt necessary). The boards could use some new glass and its really cold inside, so bundle up. The atmosphere is nice, though. Concessions have a pretty decent selection and the prices are fair.
Old building. Needs more variety in food. A few more bathrooms might make it perfect. Great venue to watch hockey. Easy egress after events. Beer specials frequently. Don’t let the old appearance deter you from enjoying the events
So awesome watching the Garden Bros Circus!! Weve gone to numerous events here and its always a great time!!
The people assisting were awesome! And the hockey game was so much fun. I had such a great time. I want to bring my little kids to the next game. I will be back for sure.
Went to see perfect circle concert here. Its was cold in there because, apparently its an ice hockey ring, so bring a jacket and wear appropriately. Coming in from the freeway was interesting. Had to wait awhile to turn into the actual lot. The inside of the coliseum had 3 levels. You enter into the mid level. The food is all on that level and they had alcohol at every entrance back into the seating area. Only 2 bathroom from what I could find. The poor women had a massive line for their bathroom.
Ive been to a few shows here and the food and drinks are usually reasonably priced and I had a good time at the shows and hockey games I went to here. Would highly recommend if you want to see somebody there.
We had a great day at the Checkers game with the family. It was a good family oriented night of fun. The reason for taking off a star is for the stadium being so outdated.
PLEASE READThis place is a little on the older side. Also the traffic in and out and the parking can be a bit much. But it is a quaint place. So many amazing speakers, bands and events have came through the building. I do think it will need to be renovated in the near future though.
Good auditorium. Small but enjoyable when I went to the AEW show. Can clearly tell the age but still serves its function without any bells or whistles. Parking was okay to navigate but that is being said in light of the fact that I got there 2 hours before the event. The lines and ticket checks werent good though. The staff took way to long to set things up and it seems to lack any tight organization as far as getting people into multiple lines and checking them in.
Great local coliseum with lots of history. There’s plenty of onsite parking: it’s costs $8/car, and they accept cash and card when you pull in. There’s several food options inside. The venue is small enough that there’s not a bad seat in the house. We try to get tickets in Section 121 so that we’re close to the local craft beer stands. If you have time before your event, try eating in the Red Line Club on the ground floor. We learned that it’s the same main ticketed entrance for that - no special side entrance.
GO CHECKERS! 2 the next round of the playoffs
First time visiting for a hockey game. It was a pretty good experience. Pretty easy to get in and out, but we came 30 minutes early and left right before the game ended. Lots of activities for prizes for the fans, but not sure how you get picked to play. Would have been fun to play and win prizes.
Classic vintage venue. Charlotte Checkers are one of the best deals in town for seeing a live sporting event!
I’ve done it all here! From sold out concerts to hockey games, The Coliseum is a great venue. It is a Historical place in Charlotte, but the Checkers moving back to the Coliseum and revamping it has truly made it an enjoyable place to go for an event. There are a fair amount of dining options, and even a lower level dining experience (The Red Line Club). With more expansion and additions coming, I’d highly recommend checking out “The Biscuit” for your next event!
Had a great time at the Trump RALLY.
Enjoyed a very well done commencement ceremony here. Older venue, but good hospitality and customer service.
Getting in and out was easy. Had a good view from several different location. Sound was good all over.
Fantastic arena filled with nostalgia. Checkers games are the diamond in the rough of Charlotte sports. Always a great atmosphere and the staff is top notch!
If you like sitting in traffic, this is the place to go. Lots of events to attend here. The Coliseum is clean and well taken care of.
Easy to park and they don’t charge as much as other places to park. The beer and food was priced great as well for a big event. I went to see AEW and the places works well for wrestling events. I had a cheap seat and still felt close and could see everything. The seats were not uncomfortable either.
That was fantastic! HBCU Battle of the bands!
Visited for the Toby Mac concert, which was great, but this facility is TIRED. The parking was atrocious. Too few people managing too many cars, leaving every person to fend for themselves. That never goes well.
Its nice but its also cold next time I will make sure I bring my jacket.
Went to the hockey game, great time! This would be a good place for a concert or event as well. Family bathrooms!
They do a great job hosting seminars/conferences for large groups. The staff is lock clockwork and very helpful. Nice facilities.
The venue is great for events like hockey games. The place is clean and amenities alike
I love this Historical Coliseum. Many variety’s of concerts. Home to the National Champions Charlotte Checkers. Many events. Not a bad seat in the house!
They turned off the lights and the mics on Erykah Badu, but she was late getting started, soooo...Otherwise, the venue was decent.
Comfortable, ok bathrooms they DO sell Bojangles don’t expect the full menu tho.
I enjoyed the Checkers games so much more when they were in the downtown arena. This place is in serious need of ground up renovations. Concession lines are too long interfering with causeway traffic... Bathroom facilities are inadequate for the amount of public... Parking is not great, but not too good either... Hopefully someone will sink some money into this place soon.
Saw AEW dynamite taped here...had fun....affordable tickets with great seating.....size of arena is perfect for this kind of event
Great for Venues! The Parking lot is perfect and the comfort of the chairs is great... Always good times.
The atmosphere in here for Checkers games is great. Concessions arent too expensive, parking is easy. Plus, there is a lot of Charlotte history under this dome.
Everyone working there was very nice. The concessions were not open long enough. I left there thirsty and hungry.
Great hockey team, concessions, and coliseum.
The parking lot is in need of repair but the lot attendants do a good job with getting people in and out. Site is undergoing expansion, but it was super crowded for the Checkers game. Havent been there for any shows but the games are always enjoyable.
Seating was good. Getting a drink or food was a 1 star.. Very poor management for a Large Event..
Very clean and easy to get in and out. Good food and beer selection. Go checkers!!!
Great coliseum to watch hockey. Affordable tickets, food and drinks around the whole outside. Parking was $8 I believe and I had no trouble finding a spot or leaving after the game. Decently clean bathrooms I would say.
Not bad of an arena, parking was a beast if dont get there early.
Not really a bad seat in the house. We didnt eat there but the prices werent out of control for that. They helped direct traffic at the end of the show.
Vending, bathrooms and arena were really nice. Only complaint was the seats in front of me were close but Im on the tall side.
Love the Checkers, but the Coliseum is pretty old. Very narrow hallways around the exterior make it hard to navigate, especially during an intermission. Friendly staff, though.
Went here for comedy show. The seats on the floor level were hard but other than that it was a good location
Very nice for hockey!
Attended my daughters high school graduation ceremony
Love going to hockey games here. Parking could be better but that is our only complaint
Staff was nice, had a fun time here. They should be more organized getting in however instead of just telling people to jump into another line out of no where
Been here for serval graduations, great place. Parking is hectic if you arrive at the exact hour but if you arrive 30/40 mins before you should be fine.
These people are amazing in their performances. They really put on a good show.
It is very busy at all meal times. If this one is in East independence Blvd. The fact it is there is a great thing for patients and their families members. But also due to the location you will run into a lot of different health problems. For someone like myself with a low immune system. I have to be careful when I eat there. But with all that said the staff is great. The place is clean and they keep the line moving.
Fun night watching @energycarolina arena football!
Great place to see a hockey game! And the cheerleaders were out of this world
A classic landmark in Charlotte, NC. I have seen a lot of basketball going back to the Carolina Cougars of the ABA. Hockey games in the 70s. Still a great place to watch hockey.
Older arena but nicely kept together. I attended a graduation at the arena.
Went to Cirque du Soleil here. Decent venue.
Older arena but not bad for certain events
$8 to park? We were just coming for a $13 Checkers game and it was less expensive side when the team played in Time Warner.$8 beer? Ridiculous and expensive. Theres no reason to charge people so much, besides flat out greed. Sorry, but tax credits to help build and remodel this coliseum and then the owners nickel & dime the public when we go?Honestly, I wish the Checkers would return to Time Warner, a MUCH better venue for everything.
This is a great place to watch hockey! Love the feel of the building.
There was not a bad seat in the house, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the Cirque du Soleil OVO performance ! The staff was very courteous and efficient while bringing everyone thru the metal detectors, and were equally engaging as everyone left when the performance was over. Shout out to everyone working at the Bojangles Coliseum, each and everyone of you are why the Coliseum is such an enjoyable experience!!
It is a good place to go to see an event. The chairs were very comfortable!
Nice and clean but the bojangles sandwiches were too spicey to eat.
Very cool venue. The inside is very modern. I would have liked to have seen Grateful Dead here.
My fair lady was amazing. They need more bathrooms and improved traffic flow.
Great experience. Food a bit pricey but it is a stadium, so it was expected.
This coliseum is somewhat dated as a venue. The parking can get somewhat crowded getting in and out of after an event. The hallways are little bit crowded etc compared to something that was built recently. that all being said because its a small arena there really arent any bad seats in it. Even the cheap tickets have a good view.
