Serene place to sit and eat/talk. The shrubs and weeds have grown. If you sit on the benches, your view is blocked. Its not being cared for. I watched people walk their dogs with no poop bags, so I wouldnt sit in the grass.

Brittlebank Park on Lockwood Drive in Charleston is a one of my favorite parks. This is a nice wide open green space that is situated on the Ashley River and has unobstructed views of the water that are beautiful. Most times of the day this park is quiet and peaceful and is great for finding a spot to relax and clear your head in the middle of everything. I like having picnics here and even finding a nice spot to go fishing at this park. This is also a really good event space that can hold larger or smaller event very well. This park has plenty of trees and shade to keep you cool on a warm day. I have been coming to this park since before I could remember and have always had a positive experience here.

The park was ok. For being in a historic district, I feel like the park itself should be in better condition. There are no trash cans and the walking paths are way outdated and BIG TRIPPING hazards as the roots from the nearby trees are pushing up through them.A lot of standing water from rain run off, pour drainage control. Mosquitos

Had a lovely riverside picnic, watching the dragon boats practice. The real reason for my visit, though, was to attend a session of the Low Country Stargazers. Every Wednesday (weather permitting) they set up telescopes here and study the night sky. It was fun and educational, and I had a close-up view of Saturn and Jupiter, among other things. Would be a great way to introduce young ones to astronomy.

Favorite place to come and walk the dog - and my dog’s favorite place in the whole world. Really nice park with a beautiful view of the river and plenty of benches to sit on. It’s free to visit and there is parking as well which is a plus. There’s also a nice playground for kids. Do note that there aren’t really lights as the park is technically closed at night.

Beautiful hidden spot by the water I didnt know about after living near here 10+ years! Just a bit past the Riverdogs Stadium, this little park is a nice spot for waterside events. Theres a dock and a tiki bar in the river that apparently sells drinks occasionally and has those hydraulic water shoe things. Found out by participating in the Dragon Boat Festival to Support Cancer Survivors. Overall, great location. Uploading a picture of parking nearby.

We came here after visitong the Angle Oak and had a great time. There is loads of room for running and playing. The play structures are in great shape. The view of the water is phenomenal! Highly recommend bringing your kiddos here. It was free which is nice, unlike the James Island Co park. We tried to go to that one, but Im not paying and arm and a leg to let the kids run off some energy.

The fishing here can be very fun. Sometimes the current is too strong so I fish near the shore. The dock is lit up at night as well. There is also a playground for kids to play and also an open area where your dogs can run free. There is a police station across the street so it makes it safer.

Its a quaint park. Not really much to it. Thin strip of land along the waters edge, a playground for the kids, and a parking lot which often gets taken over and congested by the parking for the riverdogs games leaving park visitors forced to park across the street at the hotels or elsewhere entirely.

Seems like a very lovely place to come do some fishing. The pier is quite sizable, and there are plenty of spots from which you can throw your line. We saw a gentleman catch a stingray and he showed my wife and I how to properly clean one and prepare it for cooking. The people out there were very friendly. This will definitely be a spot I will come back to to do some fishing and crabbing.
