What an amazing gem of CHARLESTON!Small classy and family run jazz club. Check their live streaming concerts out in this Covid era of struggling artist!

Delighted to have found authentic jazz on our visit to Charleston! The quartet we saw was very good and started early enough that (older) people like us could enjoy two sets and still get home at a reasonable hour! The cover charge was tiered - brilliant - such that the couches up front were premium price, then cocktail tables were another price and general admission chairs were another price. Very smart!Beer and wine were available for purchase but the remarkable surprise was a little side table with complementary snacks! Cheese, olives, pretzel sticks and cheesecake bites were set out for everyone to enjoy.I have to say, it was a highlight of our trip to the Holy City. The people were wonderful! The owner and his wife were warm hosts. It was obvious they treasured the opportunity to share what they love with patrons and had put tremendous preparation into creating a place for artists to perform for an appreciative crowd. The people in the audience were really into to music - not talking to each other or being distracting in any way. I wish we had a Forte Jazz club in my city!

Love this club! Wonderful venue to enjoy fabulous local music. Joe and Rosie give it a mom & pop feel, but this is truly a professional venue. Joe himself is a great entertainer, but he is also able to bring in Grammy winners like Charlton Singleton from Ranky Tanky. Buy tickets to whomever is performing, you will not regret it!

Hi! Was looking into the Latin dance night next Thursday. This seemed to be my only way of finding out, but is there an age restriction of 21 and over? I have a friend who would like to come who is 20. Hoping for a fun night :) thanks!

This club is the real deal. With jazz you get that variety of sounds. Listen to Thelonious Monk and then to Fats Waller - both jazz pianists with completely different styles which give you different vibes. One night the sound coming from the stage at Forte Jazz Lounge is completely, utterly unique and the next night youre listening to standards by George and Ira Gershwin. The edgy yet comfortable ambiance is there. This club is gaining popularity at lightening speed as being the place for jazz music in Charleston, SC.

This was easily one of the best experiences of my Charleston trip. The feeling of being submerged in jazz culture and people who feel that same gave me joy. I would love to come back each year. Definitely an experience I’ll remember and I look forward to coming back

Weekend getaway in Charleston and love that this jazz spot was right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of King Street. Great ambiance, the band was top notch. Not a bad seat in the house but we enjoyed the VIP couch seating, super comfortable! Would definitely come back anytime and recommend if you’re looking for a laid back place to enjoy great music.

Joe: thanks for bringing live jazz to Charleston. Perfect venue for the music and reasonable ticket prices. So many good musicians in our city. So good to go to a club that is all about listening to the music. Not a bad seat in the house too. Jim and I will be supporting you on a regular basis. Thanks again for the vibe.

So happy we finally have a jazz joint. Enjoyed the couches we splurged a little extra for and the music was just what I needed to have a great night. Hope they grow and budget to close up the ceilings for better acoustics and get table service and a full bar. Cant wait to watch this place become a essential stop on a visit to CHS.. jazz in Charleston thank goodness.....

Our group had a great time at Forte! As others have mentioned.. the staff is friendly, the drinks are reasonably priced and the musicians are excellent. Our least enthused member of the group that evening, who honestly, wasn’t thrilled about going to a jazz club had the best time out of anyone else in our group. He made a point to introduce himself to the musician after the show was over and took pictures with her. It was quite funny, but also speaks to the power of Jazz music. I’m thrilled that we have such a cool jazz venue in Charleston!

Charleston has a jazz (and blues) club! Thanks to Joe and Rocio Clarke for opening Forte. It has been years since we had a real jazz listening room in this town. Centrally located, comfortably furnished, wonderful sound and ambience...this is where you can dig good live music in a classy joint. Friendly staff, excellent drink selection, top-shelf artists. Everything you want. Make Forte Jazz Lounge part of YOUR Charleston experience.

What a wonderful experience! My husband and I had been looking for a place like this for so long, and were thrilled to have found Forte! If you want to spend a magical evening listening to talented musicians, its the place for you. We really felt transported into another era, with all the beautiful tablecloth tables, candles, and art deco details. Theres also a little bar you can enjoy during the show. Couldnt recommend more! Well definitely be back.
