Really bad experiences at this place. I definitely steer all my visiting friends away from here. Dont waste your time here.
Totally agree with Peter V.Over Priced drinks, brings in an entitled personality type, Bouncers and some staff are aggressive/rude. over all vibe of the place needs a make over if they want to grow a positive atmosphere
I booked a table Saturday night. My table was given away and I was told I didn’t respond to them so it was given to someone else. I showed them the text messages between myself and the promoter and they stated the promoter never told them. They said they could try to get our table back and I noticed there were four open tables in the back section. I asked them about all the open tables and they stated they could put us back there “I guess.” At the end of the night the bouncer was very rude and kicked us all out when we were trying to take end of night pictures 20 minutes before they closed and grabbed my wife’s cellphone out of her hand while trying to take a group photo. We asked if we could take one more photo and he stated get the hell out. This is how they treat table service there. Piece of advice is go somewhere else!
Reviewing as a night club: On 7/22. Got a $5 hand stamp at NV street entrance. The manager said it got up to $20 the previous night. (Sounds fishy). Went next door to Henrys to check it out, got into Henrys with NV stamp. (The two are connected on the roof.)Henrys had 2 live bands, one on each floor. Got to the NV rooftop entrance and the guy TRIED to charge us again to get in. Around 10:30pm not many people drunk enough to dance yet. But the humidity inside was already warmer than outside. Bc the back facing the roof is all open. I asked a bouncer to turn down AC, he had no problem with it. The beer and alcohol are a little over priced, as expected downtown. The DJ played remix of top 40s. The music was pretty much the same rave beat throughout, and at a satisfying volume (Not earsplitting). When people started packing in, the temperature rose to probably a muggy 85. Too hot. But definitely worth $5 if you get there early enough.
Got the VIP table for my friends bachelorette party last minute. Not many dance clubs in Charleston so this was well worth the $! Ty and Edward at the bar were the best.
Rude, and completely unprofessional. They tried to confiscate my LEGAL ID, even after showing my credit card and MUSC Work ID. Had to dial the non-emergency police line in order to be let in. Then paid 8$ for a low grade vodka soda. RIDICULOUS.
Update: I have just created a Pandora station that can out perform, in every way, the weekend DJ at this establishment. This establishment continues to be a disappointing experience.0/4 times in the last 5 months, has this nightclub been enjoyable for my wife and I.5 stars to the bouncer staff, bartending staff, wait staff for being courteous and consistent. What made our visits so terrible consist of the following:1) Inconsistent and absurd cover charges. I have never paid a second cover charge to go from Henrys to NV. They are the same establishment. $5 each, to get into Henrys (which was fine). Then the bouncer at the gate to NV wanted to charge another $15 each! We waited another 20 minutes or so, and it dropped to $5 each to get into NV.2) I speak absolutely literally on this next matter. The DJ is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. This is a person who has demonstrated several times that they can neither properly transition from one song to another, but also that they cannot stay on one song for any length of time.3) This establishment closes at 2. Not 1:40. Last call, so Im used to, is usually between 1:30 and 1:45. The staff began trying to exit people around 1:35. Maybe they made their dollar quota for the evening, and customer services were no longer required?Sober or not, it was a pretty lousy experience overall.
Love this place, music, drinks and the cool bartenders..Alway a great time when I’m in Charleston.
Micayla, the manager was absolutely fantastic! Running around cleaning drinks off the bar, lighting candles, covering all the small details to create a grande experience. The DJ was also amazing last night. I enjoyed the night thoroughly!
Great spot for a Saturday night, attractive croud. The DJ does a nice job and management keeps an atmosphere ideal for Charleston night life!
Went to an event in which the bar was rented out. Drinks were way overpriced and the staff was simply rude. They literally called me a liar to my face. Food they served was decent quality.
Abusive bouncers, overpriced drinks, and a verified female junkie as a manager. There are so many other great places in Charleston for night life and no reason to go here.
New SJ SUCKS don’t come here!
They have a cover and do not allow flip flops. Two of my biggest annoyances in this town. Other than that its ok.
Cool club
Really enjoyed partying here!
