My two teen age boys love to come here and meet up with their friends as the biking/skateboarding room is exactly what they need. Everyone is always friendly and helpful when they need it,and they always find something new to get into. Through COVID19 they were locked inside however Iv found letting them out here has helped them mentally beyond what I ever expected. We love umstead park for sure!

Beautiful park that provides more than just a playground. Large shaded tables to eat, bathrooms, big open fields and paved walking paths next to a stream. I saw a lot of people with fishing poles but I do not know where they are fishing at. Highly recommend for relaxing, nature watching, or exercising.

Playground is good but hot in the summer. Bring lots of water. The creek and trail is a lot of fun to explore.

Sunny day quiet nice and clean

Awesome new trail Bolin Creek Trail attached to this awesome park with ample parking, fun playground and restrooms. I go here at least once a month because its always a blast for the famiky. Lots of fish to see in the creek and the path is well shaded.

Great playground. Good surface. Some shade, not a ton. Also has a creek that the kids like to visit.

Nice shaded trail. Nice playground and volleyball court (sand surface) associated with it. Been there twice and moderate traffic each time, but imagine when college is in session there may be more bike commuting on it that I experienced each time.

Peaceful and quiet

Great park. Extremely large areas to explore and the closest environment to true wilderness you will find in Raleigh if you travel deep enough.

This is a great park for picnics, playgrounds and all around fun. There are clean bathrooms and even a few grills. The creek is very tempting to the younger set, so bring a change of clothes and shoes that can get wet!

Park has: restrooms, picnic tables, basketball court, volley ball sand pits, playground with swing and spinning things, trail. Trail was closed when we went. The place could use more benches and water fountains.

Small park with swing set and well maintained playground. Trail head connects to Bolin Creek trail. Nice and flat, great for walk/jog/bike.

My son loves it here, we enjoy walking the trail and he loves finding baby turtles by the water. Very safe trail its good to walk through early mornings, late evenings. The basketball court can use some renovating other than that great place for family and pets.

This park is beautiful. We had a semi-family reunion. The shelter and grills were perfect. Its located right beside a brook. We were fortunate enough to see 2 beautiful deer walking on the other side of the brook. The only unfortunate part was someone had their dog loose which ran up to our shelter and pooped right beside the brook. No owner in site. And we had kids out there. But other than that, it was a great day.

Great place to hang out with nature and family

Great small park. Ideal for anyone who enjoys nature. Has a few trails people can follow. If you dont like getting muddy or wet may not be the place as a few trails require that you cross the creek. Has restrooms and a picnic shelter. Also has a playground for kids. Ideal for dog walkers.

Love all of the trails! There are also nice areas to stop and have a picnic along the way. Would recommend for anyone looking for easy exercise.

Great beach volleyball courts!

Awesome trails, big parking areas with restrooms. You can just enjoy sitting at a picnic table next to the parking lot, go for a 6 mile hike or run, or anything in between.

23 month old rating review a 1! If you have older children you might feel differently. IMO this playground is poorly designed. There are low bars in sightline head height placing horizontal bars just where a toddler can pick up speed and smack right into it them. The ramps should have some sort of mesh guard to prevent crawling under too. The slides arches to go under are entirely to low but I’ve seen this as a trend at too many parks. It’s just bad design. I find the coloration in the natural setting also completely obnoxious. You had 2 confused bumble bees all over the orange looking for the pollen. There are no tied down drum sticks for the drums or metal bars. You have this giant play ground with 5 slides yet you only have 4 swings. Who picked this thing out because it doesn’t seem like they gave it much thought? I could go on...As a designer I find it extremely disappointing.

This park is ok. It has a nice rubbery ground thats helpful if your child is crawling. The playground is not very big.

Very nice park with a lot to offer. Even basketball courts across the street and a walking trail. Kids will definitely love this park!!

The beach volleyball courts here are wonderful. The sand is always in great shape and there are bathrooms nearby. Its a true hidden gym.

The vollyball ball courts are the best, smooth sand and some shade. You can reserve a court by calling the park. There are only three though.

Great start for Bolin Creek Greenway East. Bike, run, or walk. Anticipate completion of the trail West to Estes Drive Extension.

Awesome family park....it has parking, walk trails, volley ball courts, basket ball courts, picnic area, grills, and bathrooms, wonderful Carolina scenery and its clean also alcohol and drug free great family park 2 thumbs up!

I play sand volleyball here regularly. The courts are an improvement over most other courts in Chapel Hill. Sand is soft, though they need to add more as the courts arent very deep. No lights.
