Definitely worth the visit! I come here lots during the summer along with many other people. Perfect for families, family picnics, birthdays, walking your dog, swimming, walking on the trails, and playing sports on the big flat areas of grass. There is a good amount of table benches near the river for people to sit so they can eat, watch their kids, or have a nice conversation. There is other areas scattered along the park with tables that have a roof covering them, but these are farther away from the water, theyre more near the flat areas of grass. You should definitely come check it out and have a look. Not convinced? Theres a rope swing by the river. My father reinforced it so that people can swing again. That outta make you come .I almost forgot to mentioned that although the place is great for the summer, the only thing that could really use some maintenance is the bathrooms. Bathrooms are not always clean and most of the time theyre closed. There is a porta potty in the parking lot, but thats up to you. Other than that, almost everything else is fine

Great place to enjoy the outdoors. Kept clean by the county? City of Centralia? Very nice place to relax.

Great place to swim and relax or to start a river float. If floating with the speed of the river expect 4 hours minimum to the Pearl St. Bridge.

Schaeffer County Park is a beautiful setting for picnics, BBQ, photos, or just to hang out. Also during the summer would a great location to cool off.

Great place to play in the river, some shade and benches in the beach area would be nice as well as an even slope down to the water. And the bridge to the island for hiking is closed.

Cool park and area. Bathroom and facilitates are locked - sign mentioned a need for volunteers. Porta potty set out is horrid and needs maintenance ASAP. But if you dont have to pee, its a pleasant park with areas to sit and picnic and watch the river.

Small trails in the woods.Sandy/rough entrance to the water but shouldnt hinder anyone from an enjoyable time.Big open park grounds with some shade. Sandy/rough volleyball courts are a great addition to small picnic.*I do not think cooking is allowed in this park.

Quiet and beautiful. Small trail to walk and a tiny beach to sit and enjoy the gorgeous river. There is a beautiful wood bridge that would be perfect for a photo opportunity. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because it is not maintained. The bathrooms are closed and the trashcans are overflowing with garbage. There is also barely any play equipment. The playground is sad and dangerous in multiple areas.

It is a perfect place to walk with your family or pet. Also I have a barbecue and my family had an incredible time in that place.

This place needs a little T.L.C. Beautiful spot and area. Just needs maintenance and love. Although the kids enjoyed it. These kinds of beautiful places deserve more money for our children. One port-a potty due to COVID not ada accessible. Bath room not accessible for anyone right now contrary to public COVID open public parks list

Our favorite place to take our kids to swim, and its the safest place for all 3 of our kids ranging in age from 11 to 2 to swim and have fun. Theres a play ground and a huge kitchen area. Lots of trails to hike or an empty field to just relax on the grass and read.

Waters shallow enough for small kids but deep enough dor the adults.

Its a great swimming hole, perfect for pictures. Theres a sheltered picnic area and a playground. Its a bit of a charming rustic park.

Easy access to the Skookumchuck river for a dip or floating. Very family friendly.

Small but beautiful park. Has a little bit of everything. Its closed half the year but thats the best time to visit (when no-one is there!) I fly drones here sometimes.

There is not much of a park to play on these days. I have been coming here for years and this is always my go-to spot on a nice day. Would definitely recommend to play Frisbee or go for a walk while here.

This park is closed however you can walk in let it be known these waters here are not tested for bacterias and other microorganisms that may make you ill swim at your own risk it is a nice park with great river access I wouldnt recommend bringing pets or children here to swim but it has a great playground and trail.

Sketchy tweaker park. Careful taking kids on trails theres needles all over. Toys are a joke only good thing is the river runs through it but watch out for glass

Unmaintained beauty. Good place to have lunch, not a great place for kids to play. Trails are overgrown so only the main part of the park is good to walk around.

Pretty park, but the picnic tables need repair and instead of fixing the toys they keep removing them. Could be a great park if they did some maintenance.

This is a great family park, it has not been cleaned up from the winter yet, but is still a good park for get togethers, nature hikes, fishing, frisbee, walking the dogs, picnics or just to hang out.

This park has a ton of space. It has under cover places to cook and trails to walk. The river access is one of the best in the city for hot days. Room to play almost any sport.

Went floating here last summer great fun you put in here and get out at Rotary Park took about five and a half hours so plan for a long day and plenty of water

Stopped here unplanned but it was nice for what it was. It had a very pretty trail to walk by the river but the graffiti and lack of up keep of the parks facilities didnt make it very inviting.

I love this park I just got married there and love the lay out the park stays busy all year round

Sadly this park is in serious disrepair! Parking lot is closed, bathrooms are locked. The power is still on so the homeless folks have a place to charge their phones and plug in bike tire pumps. We packed our garbage out, most others obviously do not. The cans are over flowing with stinky garbage and there are broken beer bottles and diapers along the sidewalks so be sure to keep your shoes on. The river is nice, a little muddy but fun to skip rocks and get your feet in. We used to love this place and looked forward to visiting. I dont think well need to come back. Bummer. I still think it deserves 2 stars because its a nice sunny spot to throw the football and frisbee around.

This place does not even deserve a star. There is no playground. The whole place is trashy and the worker just told me he was finding needles. Trash everywhere and random bathingsuits just laying on the ground. Washington is taking the cake of having trashy everything.

Used to come here as a kid, brought my daughter when we told her she is getting a sibling. Felt good

The County is no longer maintaining this park. There are portable restrooms and walking paths, still a good spot to walk your dog.

Water access with decent swimming, a small playground including a swingset, short but winding gravel walking talks through beautiful forest.

Very nice place, smells so nice and fresh here, very calm, well cared for, great for couples, or family, even a trip all by yourself, go read a book, thats what I do here.
