We love visiting this park. When we lived in Carbondale, IL, we used it often, hiking around the reservoir, picnicking, grilling, events as disparate as graduation ceremonies, weddings, Bat Mitzvah, music concerts, family reunions. When traveling through Carbondale, well frequently stop to stretch our legs and take in the memories.

The park road has some huge potholes and Canada Geese seems to be an issue here. There is a nice peninsula with a table- there was a lot of trash in this area but good view of the reservoir and we saw a copperhead snake.

Its so peaceful and plenty of attractions for any and everyone. Just wish they could leave bathrooms open during day or put a porter potty. Its really hard to tell my 4 year old to hold it and load everyone up to go on a bathroom run.

Great place to fish, n hang out. Just bring a lot of bug spray cause your gonna need it.

Quiet relaxing place I went to relax on my lunch.

Nice spot close to SIU to hang out, do some fishing, have a bbq or just stop and have lunch. Pretty area with a nice lake.

This park has been the same for 30+ years... nothing to write home about, but a cool place to have a gathering, BBQ, or even fish.

I just drive by it often on the way to the hardware store. I have been told that the fishing is poor, too many turtles.

I had no idea I had ever been here in my life but I can guarantee that it was great.

My boys enjoy playing at this park. For the most part its very clean. The groundskeepers cant we blamed for inconsiderate people.

Its a good place to walk around but it doesnt have enough lighting around it at night and the number of benches are very limited.

Cute little park in southern Illinois! It has a playground, a skate ramp, and a baseball field. Great for picnics or family gatherings and to bring kids to play. Theres always something going on here! Treat yourself (and your kids)!

Amazing views all along the lakeshore. Love to grill out there in almost any weather; they have plenty of grill units and pavilions spaced fantastically.

Evergreen Park is a nice, quiet, and fun place to go. It will forever be one of my most favorite and memorable places in the world and will forever hold a very special place in my heart. It is where I first met my oldest living sibling whom I had knew and heard of all my life, yet never knew until then due to a very hateful and judgemental world and some horrible people.

Great park for young kids, there is not much shade on the toddler playground though so avoid the middle of the day.

A place for nature lovers. They have four shelters that you can do many activities, gatherings, barbecue, or just simply rest to enjoy nature. Playground for children and lake for fishing fanatics add up to the amenities of this park.

Fun place for the kids but wish they had more patrol out here, shady individuals at late times in the day times also have found condoms out in the parking area (Gross!). Also the fishing isnt very good (was sat out here for 2 hrs and only caught one fish and lost a bunch of line and hooks).

My son loves this park. It is clean and safe.
