Beautiful views along the trails. It gets really busy on the weekend and parking fills up quick, so get there early.
Easy and fun hike close to Louisville that has connection to other trails. Good for kids who like cows!
Unexpected amazing views on this slightly challenging hike! We did 7.35 miles out here and loved every step of it. Make sure to bring a $5 for parking if youre not a resident.
Great trail system - well maintained and marked. Wish they had maps on all the major intersections. Enjoyed a great hike and nearly everyone followed the mask rules - high-five!
This is a great trail. Not too strenuous. If your car isn’t registered in Boulder county, make sure you bring $5 exact change to pay for parking. Dogs are allowed as well. Most of the trail is really rocky. Make sure you wear good shoes. Also, Go early to avoid the heat. Several areas of the trail don’t have any shade and can get warm. The parking lot also fills up fast. May want to consider sunscreen and bug spray.Lots of hikers and mountain bikers on this trail today. Everyone is very friendly.
Giving 4 stars because there are literally less than 15/20 parking spaces available, and forget about trying to park on the street. The hikes are nice and you can run or bike on the trail. Good views of the mountains and a nice open space
Great place to view the mtns and take pics of friends and family. Fun to ride horses, not so great for bikes to many people. It is a slow and easy location.
Easy trail system with great views. Great for all ages and experience levels. Saw many people cross country skiing the trails. There is a $5 parking fee.
Nice easy hike. Very dog friendly.
Went to get photos taken. Nice view but someone busted windows of photographers car and stole purse. Not sure going back.
Pretty nice little local trail... Its close by for me so its super convenient.
Beautiful view. My family and I enjoyed the hike. You need plenty of time to hike the whole loop.
Trail is very Rocky. I would recommend taking the North trail first since the incline is not as steep. My Chihuahua was able to easily do the hike. The trail is kid friendly. There are coyotes in the area.Parking was full by 8:30 am. Great easy hike! Just get there early for a parking spot.
Good, quite level trail with beautiful views of the flatirons. My problem is that they lined the trail with small-medium rocks which were a bit tough to walk on and around
Great for an after work hike! Parking is not free cuz its Boulder. If you are a tourist there are way better and free.
We love hiking here. It is a moderate 6 mile hike. Beautiful views.
Beautiful views and great place to hike if youre looking for distance.
Fave easy weekday hike/bike/run. So close by to feel so distant!
We had a great hike. You can make it as easy or as difficult as you like and about as picturesque shot of the flat irons as you could ever ask for. Only ran into bikers who knew the rules well, not the most experience hikers around. But honestly no complaints, if I lived in the area I’d frequent it as a work out.
A beautiful hike with great scenery.
Not a lot to see and you need to have exact change for a pass.
A easy hike with spectacular views ! Great for dogs and families. I highly recommend this trail as it is a good way to get some exercise.
Nice dog friendly hike, pretty flat. Limited parking in the lot. No spot were left 8:45am on a Saturday. Friendly cows.
This was a great hike. Approximately 3.5 mile loop with awesome an view. Pretty bumpy trail, but no climbing required. It has free range cows, and a small section of the trail is tree covered.
Such a beautiful place. Best pics are right after sunrise.
Nice place for walking.
Wow this place is beautiful! It is pet friendly and has so many beautiful scenic views. There was wide open spaces and livestock roaming the grounds, which was really cool when they approached you or crossed your path on the trails.there was not a lot of shaded area, and the little stream that ran into the pond was dried up so the dogs couldn’t drink out of it. We ended up having to cut the hike short because the dogs were sooooo hot without being able to naturally get water, but that was really just on us for lack of preparation. This hike is beautiful and I would defiantly recommend it. Lots of dog people out as well, however you were mostly by yourself on the trail.
We really enjoyed these trails. There are beautiful views of the Flatirons and the surrounding area. Downside is that it can get hot during the summer. There isnt a ton a shade in the beginning or the end of the trail so it can get cooking. If you are not a Boulder county residents it is $5 for parking.
Parking is free right now. The sign says “Payment tubes are closed until we are sure it’s free of Covid-19. Enjoy”
Not my favorite. Pretty easy. Not a lot of trees
Really beautiful hike! Dogs allowed and pit toilets available. Parts of the trail are very sunny and can get hot easily. The views at the end of the hike are breathtaking and worth a little heat. The only thing that wasnt great was the 5 dollar fee for parking. I understand why its necessary but its also a bummer since you wouldnt want to pay that for just a quick morning jog.
My favorite place in my local area to visit
Amazing views, great trail. Half of it is accessible with a straller.
One of the most beautiful places... If you are in this area, do not for one moment question whether or not you should go here. Stunning!
First time riding the trail, it was a good one to learn and hone some skills for mtn biking.
A beautiful and easy place to go on a hike or simply walk with family or friends. Beautiful views with wildflowers all around. Parking is free for the vehicles registered in Boulder.
I had a SPECTACULAR day here. The trails are endless (mtn bike, hike, horse) and the views very different depending which trail you choose. Forests, rocky, plains like, rolling...this place has it all. It was kinda interesting that cattle grazes right next to the trail (no fence). There is a.modest fee for parking at the trailhead. I really enjoyed this place. Also, there are toilets there too.
One of the best open spaces near Boulder to visit on a warm, sunny day. The trail is breathtaking, and the hike is fairly easy.
The trails are definitely worth a trip! You can walk or mountain bike. The views halfway around the look are spectacular! The only reason it loses a star is because of the lack of parking. Yes it is a fee parking are if you’re not a Boulder resident, but there’s not nearly enough spaces for how many people there are wanting to enjoy it on the weekends. There’s no others parking besides the lot, so go early on the weekends!
Very hot day - too far to walk in the field with no shade.
Beautiful trail with gorgeous vistas along the north side of the trail and a little pond and rolling hills along the south side. The trail is mostly flat with a small amount of elevation change at the beginning of the trail no matter which section you start from.Small parking lot and pit toilets available.
Trail run, first time here ~ first half mile was steady incline then leveled out for about 2 miles, last mile was mostly downhill. Trail was overall rocky with lots of loose rocks.
I go here often! Love it
Perfect for a quick afternoon, easy hike.
U have to pay to park there the boulder city fees.....u shouldnt have to pay to park.....not a fan an we wont be back to hike
Nice combination of open area and trees. Great views of canyon
Its beautiful nature.
Very easy and peaceful hike
Love hiking and biking here.
Amazing hiking. Amazing views. However the trails are poorly marked
This one of our favorite easy hikes in the Boulder area with some of the best places to take photos of the Flatirons.
Great views, just a bit loud from the road till youre about 1 mile in
Nice little trails
This is our go to for getting a real outdoors walk in. Trails in town are nice, but coming up here with the great views, sprawling plains and even paths we really get to escape the busy world. There are ao many paths to take and the largest incline is really not that steep. Great for all ages and especially four legged friends.
Pretty! Level hiking trail for the most part. Gets pretty warm summer midday, shoot for the early evenings, not much shade. $5 to park unless you have the Boulder parks pass.
Great hike thats very easy. Took a 5 year old with me and she handled it fine. Wonderful little pond that we spent an hour at and great views.
Awesome views and nice, chill trails. Perfect place to bring visitors who are struggling with the altitude, but still want to enjoy a beautiful hike. The beginning of the trail has no shade, so remember your sun protection! If your vehicle is not registered in Boulder, you will need to pay $5 for parking. Bring exact change in cash!
Nice hike, excellent workout for running, hiking biking! Amazing mountains view at sunrise! It feels like you’re hundred of miles from the city.... easy choice for any day of the week!
Perfect place for a quick, easy hike. You get a great view of the flatiron mountains and see a small lake while walking through the prairie like landscape. At the beginning there are few trees, but about half way the landscape becomes covered with them.
Nice trail for a slow walk, as the surface is not too steep. But also nice for bike, so can be crowded.
Super awesome running trails! Great for speed and strength workouts!
LOVE THIS TRAIL!!!
Great place for biking and foot trails. ha to pay for parking if out of state.$5. The view is fantastic!
Lovely little easy hike or run. Its pretty exposed (without shade) so I dont recommend during extreme heat or winter weather. Otherwise, generally flat and connects to a lot of other trails. It also has an open range so expect to see cows around.
Parking in the lot at the trailhead has always been a challenge but you can have a bit of luck and grab a spot as hikers are always coming and going. There is parking on side streets. I suggest wearing solid hiking boots if you plan to hike as the trail can get rocky and solid footwear can help navigate these rocks better. Dogs on leashes allowed and there are 2 unisex restrooms. You’ll find large rocks to stop for water or a snack. Even a picnic table or two.
Great for trail running
Mountain, small forest and lake views
This is a very easy hike, which was great with my two year old. It cost $5 to park and the lot was nearly filled by 9:30 am on a beautiful Sunday in March. The trailhead is fairly well maintained with toilets, trash cans, and limited parking. While hiking we encountered a lot of dogs and mountain bikes as well as fellow hikers. There was a lot of evidence of horses too, though we didnt see any other trail. We did not see many animals, but we were hiking in mid morning... all we saw were a couple hawks and ground squirrels.
City of Boulder Parks and Rec should be ashamed of the outhouse conditions. This building should be shut down and locked if that is as clean as they can keep it. I guarantee you no one has serviced this out house in 50 years! REALLY???? Where does the fee go that they charge for parking?DISGUSTING!!!!!!The trail was fantastic..
I loved the hike but dropped a star for the difficult parking. Ive been trying to get in and hike here for years but the lot is always full.
Beautiful views of the flatirons and front range, but not a very interesting trail. If you are into xc mountain biking or just want an easier hike, this would be a good choice.
Easy to navigate- very open and spacious - quiet trails but not desolate.
Wasnt able to hike here. Trail was closed but not mentioned on website. Boulder county is real cool.
Nice views. Well defined and marked trails. A bit gravely on the south trail.
Nice trail with gorgeous scenery! Best for spring or fall hikes due to little options for shade but wonderful if you dont have your furry friends or little ones with you!
Extremely nice hike with beautiful views. Would prefer more shade
Nice flat trail, but rocks that can make your ankles roll and no free parking!
We got a little bit of everything today: rain, sun, wildflowers, deer, rock formations, views AND some water runs through it. It was a good day. 7 miles of happy.
A good hike with some pretty views. Suggest going early morning if you want to beat the heat, as shade is limited. Saw many walkers, trail runners and bikes.
Beautiful landscape. Great for MTB
Nice hike. Good for the kids. $5 parking fee
Beautiful must go!
What a great place to feel like youre in the middle of nowhere. I loved traipsing around here for hours. Bonus: the moonrise to the east was phenomenal when I went in the winter. It looked exactly like a massive orange explosion was happening in the distance. Frightening and awe-inducing. Note: I didnt come across wildlife there during the winter but there may be much more to see in the summer. Id look into it, especially for your own safety.
Great place for a hike or easy MTB ride
Wonderful trail. Bathroom available.
Wildflowers were amazing!
Great trail to connect Marshall Mesa to Doudy Draw for a longer hike
Great for our beginner hike! Was perfect for my 5 year old daughter to.
Stopped to use restrooms. Looked like someone stopped in the middle of cleaning the area. Trash bins outside were open and out with no liners. Will have issues with wildlife because of it.
Beautiful Flat lands and Front Range of the Rockys
Visiting from California found this trail loved it went on a Friday parking was easy $5 was alittle hot but we really enjoyed the trails got some thunder storms which made it cool.
Beautiful hike. Lots of wildlife including prairie dogs!
Easy and short hike when I want to get away and decompress
This is a very exposed trail with beautiful views of the flatirons. It has no shade, but has wildflowers in June. It was great on a cloudy day.
One of my favorite places in the foothills
Quiet and calm the day we visited very little people after the rain
Grat hike except for the mud
