Wear comfortable shoes!! I can not stress this enough. You will ne doing a lot of walking and be able to see so much a historic downtown Boston. It takes you right through little Italy to get to Paul Reveres home. If you are into history. This something to do while in Boston!

If you are going to Boston, this tour should be at the top of your list. We liked it so much on our first trip, we did it again on our second and I am sure we will do it again. There is just so much information and it is so interesting. I highly recommend this tour.

The best option to explore the city by its own. You can take a map in any Tourist Information point and follow Red or Blue line! Be sure that you will not miss any important sightseengs. Very smart idea!!!

Amazing! It is worth it! Imagine walking in the streets that some of the most famous Americans once walked and seeing the same places that they saw!

We did the Walk into History tour with Ryan as our guide. He did a great job adjusting to tough circumstances—the Bernie rally was the same day and it was very cold out. He was very funny engaging and knowledgeable.

Freedom Trail is an approximately 2 mile walk through the heart of Boston. For the history buff, theres a lot to take in. For everyone else, enjoy the beautiful buildings an architecture. I would highly recommend doing some pre homework on the sites so that you have a better idea of what youre looking at as the descriptor plates dont offer a lot of information. I would also suggest downloading one of the many free apps available. Most of these offer a trial session and require a small payment of maybe $4 or so to access the full application.

I took the Walk into History Tour that started at the Boston Common Visitors Center, and am so glad I did! Our guide John from Salem was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and brought all of the historic sites to life. I was sad when it was over! He was able to answer every question that was asked, and was willing to offer advice and assistance for the rest of our day at the end of the tour. You would be hard-pressed to get as much out of just walking the Freedom Trail on your own. This was my first trip to Boston, and this was the perfect tour to introduce me to the city. I loved it so much that I will take the tour again the next time I visit!!!

Follow the tour guides to find out so many historical tidbits that you would not have found yourself if you had read up on Boston and its state. Moving along in a random group or planning a private tour will be as pleasurable since they have so much to tell you, you barely feel like asking questions.

We did a tour booked with other people from the public.About an hour and a half of guided tour. Our guide was Michael S dressed in a revolutionary war red coat uniform. He was excellent! He was informative and funny and made good connections. Worth the money. Most of the tour was in the shade. If you are looking at seeing specific sites in detail you will have to do that on your own.

I suggest downloading an app and doing the tour in this way. We started in Boston Common with our app tour and it was an amazing afternoon to stop and grab a lobster roll or a cannoli while continuing on our history tour. This was the highlight of our trip!

This was very cool! We downloaded the Action Tour guide app and it gave an audio guide via GPS as we walked along. We actually did the walk over 2 days- the first day starting at Boston commons to the old north church. The second day we started at the USS Constitution Bunker Hill and worked backwards. That way we were never too far from the vehicle.

My family and I have been on vacation exploring the cities that were in the American Revolution. We have been on several walking tours over the past 2 1/2 weeks, although this was a much shorter tour than the others, Lydia Mulliken our tour guide was amazing and entertaining. My family all had smiles on there faces throughout the tour. Bravo and huzzah.

Well-informed and witty tour led by Arielle Kaplan as the historical figure of Elizabeth Oliver. I dont usually do tours as prefer to explore by myself, but Arielle knows her stuff, and I observed that she kept a miscellaneous group of 20-30 people of all ages entertained for the 1.5 hours of the tour through historic Boston - graveyard and skirmishes between English and settlers included. Took tour on coolish June day 2019.

My family and I love history, so we were really looking forward to doing the Freedom Trail tour and seeing the history that Boston had to offer about our great nation. However we were very disappointed as the tour guide interjected much of her own personal viewpoints and political thoughts into our nations history along the tour. Much of her deviation from our countrys history was highly skewed, if not completely false. The trail with the tour guide was a huge disappointment and we wished we had just done the walk without a guide.Save your money and just buy a map.

Josiah Quincy - aka Tim Hoover - was an amazing guide on the walking tour!! We paid a bit more to have a small group tour, no more than 16 in the group. It was well worth it!! Even though it rained during most of our tour, Josiah/Tim modified the tour to sheltered areas and we didnt feel like we missed a thing. It was simply interesting and fascinating and when it was over, we were all disappointed. We wanted to keep learning and hearing all of the historical stories. Thank you Josiah/Tim for making our families Freedom Trail Walking Tour AMAZING!!!

Wonderful place to explore Bostons history. This is just a point along the trail. Make sure to follow the red brick path throughout the city to hit all the historical locations. It is definately worth it. There is like 16 places along the 2.5 miles and countless wonderful places to eat along the path. The #1 thing to do in the city.
