I love this place! Everything they sell is fresh and well made. It is my go to for all things local. They even have amazing spices! I’m excited to go back next week!
Nice market with a variety of fresh foods and some handcrafted items. Early morning times some of the booths are not open. We enjoyed a bagle while walking through all the vendors.
An awesome addition to Boston, if nothing but to just walk around it. Stuff is more expensive here but it’s neat for what it is. Try the kombucha place.
Best place in boston of one wants to buy cheap vegetables.Theres a farmers market right outside Boston public market
As for public market goes, it is pretty good. Clean environment. Plenty of light. Shop variety is good. It is rather small so you can finish walking around within an hour.
It was really nice clean and it smell like fresh donuts. They have farms inside and you can use the WIC coupons
Simply love it! my first time here. it is definitely a recommendation for anyone who enjoys locally made food!
Great options for gluten free, non-lactose. You can find fresh vegetables, fruits and smoothies here
Lots of great places inside. Visit the Popover Lady they are great.
They have a little bit of everything! Perfect place for local goods.
I really love the Boston public market. If kind of reminds of what Faneuil hall used to be like before it became overran with corporate chains and ruined. My recommendation is for the Boston pastrami spot!
Great place for getting a quick bite. Lots of good choices and groceries too.
Jennifer Lees- Panini not pressed very well. Neither panini was all that yummy.Pastries, brownie and cookie were flavorless and stale. Woman who served me was nice and helpful. Hoped to rate it higher for the idea to have a gluten free vegan choice available. Think the idea needs refreshed.
The place lacks seating but I had a great time here. I recommend the lobster roll and clam chowder from Reds Best. My sister and I also got some crepes (savory and sweet ones). Its pricey here over all but its supporting local farms.
Tried the smoked salmon on a bagel and it was absolutely delicious! Must go to Reds Best and try their food! Me and my husband got: clam chowder, lobster bisque, salmon burger and oysters. The oysters are SO FRESH! Just squeeze a little bit lemon on it and that is all you need! Enjoy the true taste itself from those fresh oysters!
This places is so cool. I came for lunch and ate outside in the park across the street. The vendors care about other vendors. It’s like a family in there and you can feel it as a customer. Can’t wait to come back.
Super nice place! We visited while on holidays and it was amazing to discover new flavors an very good service. Well done!
V good but prices were little bit high
Place to visit for something to eat or to pick up a nice Artisan gift. Lunch can be busy but off hours are very easy to negotiate the aisle ways. lots of vegetarian and vegan options as well as desserts are readily available. Prepared meals are available as well as take out produce, meats and breads
Great atmosphere with a hip crowd. Excellent choices of food fare with niche gifts for anyone. Get validated parking for $3 for 3 hours at Haymarket garage. Bring your parking ticket to be stamped by vendor after purchase. Get a stamp card for 10 vendors purchases and receive 15% discount at one retailer. Friendly service with great location in Boston! Must visit! Special shout out to Sienna Farms for their fresh produce and specialty products.
Great place to swing by if you are downtown, or walking the Freedom Trail. Lots of fun food items. Mother Juice was amazing!! The popovers were out of this world. So many options for fun food.
Love the Boston public market! There is a something for everyone here. You got seafood, meat, alcohol, coffee and a number of different food stands. Personally, loved the bagel spot (fresh bagels every morning) that can be served with butter or fancy it up into a full sandwich. If you are visiting Boston, consider checking this place out for a quick bite or even a souvenir to take home
Great spot. Lots of good local vendors. Plenty to choose from. Also have cooking classes.
A lovely market with lots of diverse and unique vendors!
Best place to buy cheap fruits, veggies, fish, and herbs!!!
Good place to take a walk. Really dont like the greasy oily smell constantly coming from the cider donut place. Most meat products are overpriced and not worth buying. Seafood too. Might be a good place to go if you are craving a fresh sea urchin or oyster.
Loved this place: great atmosphere, vibes and full of lovely shops.Perfect to find nice crafts (jewelry, soaps, woodcarved items...), Shop groceries or make a stop to eat (great choices, definitely recommend the lobster roll ;)).There are places to sit inside or outside, and clean toilets
Hands down had the freshest most inviting environment in Boston. If youre near Quincy hall. I highly recommend going over one city block and checking out the public market. Had one of the best lobster rolls ever while visiting there.
Overly prices local goods (or locally made) you may consider treating yourself to once in a blue moon.Tasted some great chocolate, but at $10 a bar, could not do more than the tasting.Large meet and fish stalls, wine and beer cellar, some non edible items as well as a fresh fruit and veggie stand. Selection of to go food and Dr pasta.Donuts, ice cream, macaroon, fudge and much more to please your sweet tooth.
Stumbled on this place wow amazing definitely after the covid-19 Ill be back. If youve never been there its a must go to the Market. Unique vendors you may not find anywhere else.
Beantown Pastrami has the best sandwiches in town!
The Market is awesome. It deserves 5 stars because it has a ton of variety and the people who work there are so friendly. But, I couldnt give it 5 stars because of the guy who was loitering near the bathrooms. He appeared to have likely just shot up heroin and just lent a funky vibe to the place because he was sitting there rocking back and forth, talking to himself, and frequently scratching his hands and arms.Aside from that, its a great place
Awesome place wide variety of food and different thing for sale. Will come back again to try some of the food. The ramen noodle bar looked amazing.
Wonderful market full of boutique vendors. The coffee at George Howell is particularly good.Went mid-day on a Thursday and it was very relaxing. Expect it gets busy on the weekend!
So much variety. Popover lady was very good.
Lots of local food shops inside. Or you can grab some groceries outside. I enjoyed the hot apple cider the past two trips here. Definitely will go back for more drinks and pastries.
Great spot to enjoy some food without the massive tourist crowds of Quincy Market. Really good ice cream from Crescent Diary with huge portions (got the smallest size which was still huge!). Saw they had noodles, donuts, popovers, bagels, meats, fruits, vegetables, etc. Bit pricey: definitely upscale and trendy.
Excellent choices! So many gourmet places to go. All of the food is delicious and there are a couple of local markets with local produce. There are a few different places to sit, with most people willing to share the space. The atmosphere is very lively!
One of the best public markets I have visited, something small but varied, orderly, dining options.
This little market was amazing! Lunch time here was great we had so many options. We got a few things from different vendors and it was all delicious!
The Boston Public Market is an indoor, year-round marketplace featuring 35 New England artisans and food producers housed under one roof offering fresh foods, prepared meals, crafts, and specialty items. Residents and visitors alike can find seasonal, locally sourced food from Massachusetts and New England, including fresh produce, meat and poultry, eggs, dairy, seafood, baked goods, specialty items, crafts, and prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Everything sold at the Market is produced or originates in New England, as the seasons allow.
Red Apple Farm is best place. There is information about grown in Massachusetts. Stop by and collect brochure about how to get your own vegetables in your home. Farm market inside the building like a mall. Deli, meat, nuts, ice cream, etc.
Though not quite a rival for the old Faneuil Hall, its still a very cool place to visit. There are fresh vegetable stands, butchers, fresh pasta, bread, donuts, as well as a great liquor shop that sells mostly locally brewed or distilled spirits. Theres a fresh cider donut place too. Lots of other vendors and products. Recommended.
The Boston Public market is a great place to buy local produce and proteins. Today I bought Cape scallops at Red’s Best, they are hard to get. The scallops are super fresh and most times they can be eaten as sashimi. My other favorite place is Inna‘s kitchen where they have a lot of healthy selections for lunch or dinner. They also have a great selection of frozen soups to take home.
Such a fun place to try different foods! They had a lot of local places. The mini cider donuts were yummy. Will be back for lunch later this week. Excited to try the ramen.Update: the ramen was underwhelming but the pumpkin macaroon was bomb.
You must visit this place the vendors the food the Ambience is great come hungry
I dont get out here very often, but when I do I love walking around and looking at what each vender has to offer. I got a delicious maple latte called the Vermonter, and my boifriends got a giant popover with strawberry jelly and an everything bagel with chive cream cheese. We went to a chocolate and coffee tasting in the kitchen held by Goodnow Farms.
Fun market with a great, local vibe!
Lots of people during weekends. Exterior stales sale cheap fruits and vegetables, not always the best quality but possible bargains. Inside the market, fancy shops including many pastries and ready-to-eat counters.
Whether youre interested in shopping for some everyday necessities to getting a pastrami sandwich, there are plethora of options to choose and shop from at the Public Market. The table and seating selection is ample, but it seems as if most people tend to grab and go when they visit here. Nonetheless, worth a visit as a local and tourist looking to get a sampling of the food available in boston
A very cool place to visit. So many good options and vendors. Really enjoyed trying the food, smelling the smells, and the communal seating that lets you meet locals and do some good people watching! Worth the time to stop and check it out!
Skip Quincy Market and just go here for REAL, AUTHENTIC Massachusetts goods. These are the local bakers, farms, and goods from the area. There was less people than Quincy and was much more family-friendly.
Delicious fresh foods. Limited seating, a few stand up tables.
Any kind of food you want for any meal. Bakery, toasts, salads, pasta, meat, fish, ... all fresh that you can take it from the stall and eat it there or take it home. If you enjoy food, this is a must!
Great pop-up shops too visit! Great place for local grown produce when in season. Also great enviorment for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat..Indoor cafe style of place!
Good food good ice cream
Nice space, family atmosphere, farm home products. It is pitty, that we do not have a similar area in our city :-)
Loved the variety of stalls in this market. From cider and donuts to noodles and yarn... All peacefully coexisting under one roof.
Cool place!
Love this place! Great vibe and amazing variety of food and goods. Take a stroll through the beautiful stalls, bring your appetite, wallet, and camera. This place screams Instagram opportunity!I love that I can grab local and organic fare in the heart of Boston!
A (slightly) less touristy alternative to Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Boston Public Market offers a wide range of dining options. Your biggest challenge might just be deciding what to eat. I chose the Noodle Factory and went for the ramen. Opening times are a bit eccentric, so double check before you head out. Stalls are now fitted with slick Square payment terminals that let you use your favorite tap-to-pay option, and even calculates the tip for you on the touch screen.
Cool place for good food. A little on the pricey side but it is nice to know you are buying local stuff. I really enjoy the fish market and getting the pita pockets from Innas
Very cool market! Lots of fabulous food ready to eat or take home. Some neat crafts vendors, too!
Loved the variety of shops! We made purchases from New England Farm to Fiber, Union Square Doughnuts, The Popover Lady, Boston Honey Co., Stillman Farms, Sienna Farm, Chestnut Farms and Qs Nuts. Will definitely return.
This place is pretty good. They are packed and chaotic on the weekends, but that to be expected, so its fine i guess. The food they serve is next level, along with the options and the fact its fairly clean as well...go check it out. 4 starzz
Its a great atmosphere here. Lots of shops selling fresh foods. Great for buying organic fruits and vegetables. Nice for grabbing quick bites from crepes to seafood, meats, and cheeses.
Just a few minutes north of Faneuil Markets is the Boston Public Market which is a great foodie stop for those eager to try to try organic and speciality foods and drinks during their trip to Boston. We stopped by during our last trip to Boston and enjoyed the haddock chowder from the Boston Smoked Fish Co. and the lovely freshly made hot chocolate drinks from the Taza Chocolate bar. Both were very good food and drinks, worthy of returns and recommendation for fellow travellers. In addition to the very good food and drinks, really enjoyed seeing the giant pumpkins on display in the market as well. The sign said they weigh over 1000 pounds. Not sure if this is true but these were huge specimens, much larger than either of us (see pictures). Hopefully these mammoth pumpkins will be around for visitors to enjoy for a while this autumn. We would probably make regular visits to the Boston Public Market if we had something similar where we lived. This seemed like a great location for those seeking nicer foods to take home and for quick lunch bites to eat.
Modern and Bright Interior! An Array of Interesting Stalls! Most Merchants were Friendly! Fresh Fish, Fresh Meats, Fresh Fruits and Vegetables! Most Intriguing to me this time was the “Red Apple Farm” - yummy cider & donuts! Parking Lot Available!
The market itself is good and lots of varieties of choices. If you have been to pennsylvania market, you’ll have a comparison how much the people of pennsylvania pay attention to their market and how much the food choices are.Tried the noodle lab, law of pasta, clam chowder and the sushi. It was decent but not awe inspiring taste.
So many amazing vendors selling so much crazy good local items...from hand turned/carved wooden bowls and plates to fresh real deal bagels all the way to fresh made donuts and cider (Red Apple Farm)...if they had studio apartments for rent I would literally live here!
The public market has everything. Friday and Saturday is a farmers market outside. Cash only but best deals in town for produce and freshest fish. The parking garage upstairs is $3 for up to 3 hours with validation.
Haymarket, wow. I always wonder when will i be there with my wife and children. Buy a pack of grave for 1$ or 5 apple for 1$. US was a really great place to live. For all of you Bostonian, enjoy your life from Bostonian in Indonesia.
Great variety. Pro tip: if youre downtown for a couple hours, park in the garage, then grab a cup of coffee from George Howells or maybe a bahn mi, get your ticket validated. Cheapest parking in back bay.
Amazing assortment of vendors. I had Reds seafood. Lobster bisque soup and crab cakes were delicious. Fun to walk around and ice cream at Crescent Ridge for dessert. Reminds me of Chelsea Market but brighter and less crowded.
Great local and historical public market! Good selection of local fish, fruits and vegetables.
Not sure what to write a review about exactly. Each individual company inside is great. A little overlap in some areas (similar types of vendors) but really good nonetheless. Better signage would be nicer. Knowing where the bathrooms are, which vendors are where, street exits, etc. Its pretty busy but always a nice stop when Im downtown.
You can find variety of great food choices inside the market. I personally recommend the Reds Best for seafoods, oysters and clam chowder. Good price and great foods!
Cheapest vegetables, fruits, fish and meat.. halal meat also available. A great middle east shop is there... in the market only cash works...
Really enjoyed this market, will probably become my go to. It was really relaxed, there was some live music going on outside by an older gentlemen. Had amazing vendors/prices.
Im here to share my concern of an incident that happened yesterday 9/29/2018. The place was still busy around 3:40 when a stall refrigerator fell on a female store associate. An associate from the stall next door was trying to squeezing through her way and tilted the fridge (~80in tall, 1 door, color silver). She noticed that the fridge was moving, by the time she turned around and attempted to grab it, fridge lost balance and fell on a young girl who was standing about 2-3 ft away, facing against it (towards customers). Girl got sandwiched between the tilted fridge and glass display of her stall for a few seconds before some guys from the store helped her out. She stood still, barely moved her shoulders or lips - she remained calm and kept quiet the whole time. Some 20 people witnessed it and instantly gathered around when a green-topped, short hair lady (looks like a supervisor) announced that she’s going to call “manager on-site”. Manager came before she called and the short-hair lady assured everyone that this would be taken care of. Some people in the crowd suggested calling 911 and shared their concern about work place injury but the manager didn’t seem to call anybody. In fact, two actions were observed in the next 20 minutes - fridge was lifted back up by two guys (there was a dent on the top of the fridge), and the girl was given an ice pack. The short-hair lady was with her for a few more minutes, the girl next door apologized to her. The manager (also a young lady) was contacted by two female witnesses afterwards, manager kept on nodding during the conversation. After they have left, manager did not call or get back to the girl in the accident. I understand that the girl needs to keep her job and didn’t want to make a scene, but it is also important for a victim to be able to hold on to some witness in case more severe medical issues are identified later on. I don’t care for the actions taken by the management because girl at least needs to be seen by medical professional, yet their attitude looked reassuring which got them out of the scene easily. I hope the girl is well supported by all means, that the management is dedicated to ensure workplace safety, and I will keep my comment here in case witness is needed at some point. Too scared at the moment that I forgot to take pics, but got time stamp from previous pics taken right before the incident.
We went to make a specific purchase from a particular vendor. We found just what we were looking for. Afterward, we strolled around to see the rest of the vendors. There are some nice high quality things, but we were most struck by the eye-wateringly high prices for produce. We needed a bag of onions, which we bought outside for $1. Inside, the same amount of onions fetched $5!!
Great place to get food...try the pastrami or the lobster rolls. The roaster but guy is great lots of flavours. And the rock woman with here repurpose rocks are well worth the the trip to this market.
The food is amazing, but also pricey for me. Its my go to when I really want to treat myself, especially while trying to eat positively. I got salmon from the seafood place toward the back and beet pasta from Nella. It was incredible.
Great place to wander in downtown Boston. Food of all sorts and fresh produce even in February!!
A one stop shop for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Delicious food vendors in an environmentally friendly facility.
This is a collection of local vendors who sell a variety of items.I come here for the popovers. I think its called The Popover Lady or something like that. Its right by the door. These things are AMAZING. You can get them plain or with cheese or a number of different ways but I get it with cinnamon sugar on it and she heats it up for you if you like and gives you butter packets (deadly). I work two blocks away but I just start ripping at it like an animal as I take the short walk and Im tossing the bag in the trash as I walk in the door.
Great place to get a quick bite, and pretty good local products.
Very enjoyable place to check out if your visiting Boston. Everyone smiles and greats you and even offers to try a sample of what they have in there booths.
There are so many cute stores in here! I recognized a lot of them from SoWa, so if you saw a vendor you liked there, try looking for them here
Great organic and fresh food . Supports the community involves volunteers. Amazing chefs throw it down in The Kitchen.
Boston public market. Such a nice place. So many things to chose from here. They have classes for different things, cooking being one of them. They are a little pricey but worth walking through and checking out. Most likely youll leave with at least one thing
If you do not eat from their wonderful wide selection of several cuisines and foods, you are crazy!! It is a wonderful blend of everything that your eyes will want to eat everything to the point where you can’t eat any longer. My family wanted to come back here for our final meal before leaving Boston downtown every time and it is a staple for when we eat in downtown. Also, the customer service there is exceptional and I really enjoyed my time there for lunch and dinner. Also, it’s easy access for Haymarket station is great and easy to come to and fro. Number one spot for food in a rush or for sit down!!
If I could live in this place I would.... best food and produce in town! Was so happy I stumbled across this place
The atmosphere is very hip and trendy. All of the food and products are locally made. There is so much variety its often overwhelming. I got a great sandwich at the pastrami place (the Thanksgiving), then i went to Union Square Donuts and got a few donut holes. They have the best gourmet donuts you could ever ask for. Follow them on Facebook or Twitter. They give a heads up on special donuts out for just a short time. I highly recommend the maple bacon donut. I treat myself only occasionally because they are so rich and amazing! But if you just want to try something tasty and small, the donut holes are the best ever. It doesnt even matter that theres only two kinds. THEY. ARE. THAT. GOOD! Go to Boston Public Market, you wont be disappointed.
Gourmet market. First experience with crepes. Was delicious. Apple pie crepe.
