Brought my 12 year old son and he loved it! We grabbed some candy and a Shirley temple before the show and the bartender game him a little dino figurine. He was thrilled before the show even began, then he got to experience all the fun, lights and music. He thought the blue men were hilarious and especially loved the marshmallow catching. After the show he was so happy he could meet the performers. Perfect night out together!
This show was absolutely amazing... So much better than I could have anticipated! The collaboration between the stage performers, the band, camera crew, lighting and sounds was 100% on point. I loved the way they interacted with the audience... it was one surprise after the next. I highly recommend this to anyone and all ages, there is just no way to not enjoy this show!
In our 30s looking for a fun date night. Completely not what we expected. They spent maybe 10 minutes on the drums which we thought had paint flying around but realized it was water. It was neat if it would have been free but for $50 a person is absolutely outrageous. Don’t waste your money y’all! Would recommend if you had kids and nothing to do...
Tons of fun! Definitely sit in the center areas or front of balcony (probably) for best views. Was at back side in section F, and couldnt see part of the show. Still had a lot of fun! Didnt miss too much, but there were things happening higher on the stage that werent visible.
Such a fun and entertaining show! We sat in the very first row which was great but there is really not a bad seat in the house because it such an intimate venue! You do get a bit wet but not too bad! Everyone in the front section gets a free poncho. The toilet paper and strobe lights was my absolute favorite! Also, if it’s somebody’s birthday you can email the play house 48 hours in advance and if they have room they will put their name on the LED scrolling sign before the show! Go see it!
This show was awesome. My wife and I enjoyed it, and our kids thought it was hilarious in places and just amazing in others. One word of caution - the show is very loud in certain parts, and there are some crazy strobe lights, so take that into account if anyone in your group is sensitive to either of those.
I has such an amazing time here. The performers engage the audience physically, and with there amazing music. The performance was also extremely funny and I look forward to seeing the blue Man group again.
Ive seen this four times. I miss White Rabbit from first experience. That was mind blowing. But still way worth seeing.
This was the third time seeing this show and it is still so much fun every time. Great for the whole family with music and humor. Highly recommended.
What an amazing show! Every person in the audience is involved in some way. Splash zone is JUST that. I didnt stop laugh and smiling the entire time!
This was not the show I expected, all the promos emphasize thier musicical performances, but about half the show was taken up with bits, some funny some less so, but nothing terribly entertaining or original. My understanding from talking with people who have seen past show, this is not the norm. You may want to skip this show and wait for the next version.
This may be my 5th time seeing the Blue Man Group over the years, and it never gets old. Lots of younger kids this time who seemed to be having a blast too!
Fun show for all ages! Highly recommend for a family trip. Not a bad seat in the house....
Great great show, seen them twice and always fantastic! Very highly recommended, well be back for sure
Great show.. my wife and I took my 14 year old and her friend.. they smiled and laughed the whole time... highly recommend to do
Waited 25 years to go and it was worth the wait. Great job guys and the crew
Fun show. Hadn’t seen it in almost 10 years. A little disappointing to see it really hasn’t changed much. I remember the place being sold out every time I saw the show years and years ago. It was a sparse room last night. Barely anyone sitting on the outside sections. Hopefully they make some changes to the show, improve it, re-advertise it and start filling that place with a new and improved show. Overall though, we still had a great night and wouldn’t deter anyone from going to see it. Just don’t expect much different than a dozen years ago.
After 15 years not much is new. What they do, they do well. Too scary for young children there. Not as exciting as I remember. You may have better luck.
What an experience! These Blue Men dont speak, yet you will find yourself laughing into tears. Easy to find. We walked from our hotel near the commons. Definitely recommend this show to anyone
Havent seen them in over 15 years but still is an awesome take.
I enjoyed the performance ... lots of physical comedy and good music! The act includes lots of streamers and I couldnt help but wonder if that all gets thrown out after every show.
What a spectacular show! Im not sure Ive ever laughed so hard in my life. I had tears in my eyes and a perpetual smile with these guys who not only played awesome music, but also told a delightful story with aweing amounts of color! One thing to note. Dont be late to the show!!
Although its borderline unaffordable for a family of 4 to take part in, it was worth the expense. Very silly and entertaining from the moment you walk through the door. We head into the lounge for 2 sodas and 2 cocktails, which you are allowed to take into the theater. There is interactive things to do while you wait for seating to start. Once seated there is funny games, and ponchos being passed out with steamers to make headbands etc. And when the show starts all ages are engaged. Being from Boston I had went to the show in the early 2000s when it was new. It was completely different but equally as amazing as it originally was about 20 years prior. My 2 children ages 10 and 12 loved it....and so did my husband and I! As friends had told us, the Blue Man show is an okay experience. They perform okay and entertain okay - but nothimng breathtaking or extraordinary. Not worth time and effort in my opinion!
So much fun. You have to go. Care to those with sensitivity to flashing lights though
So much fun, easy to get to and plenty of parking nearby.
☆☆☆ June 1, 2019; Blue Man Group at the Charles Playhouse. We got a groupon discount for the show, kinda glad we did. Although the energy levels were high and the kids were really loving and enjoyed the interaction during the show. Hubby & I probably would not have enjoyed the show if we went on our own or went with another couple, especially if we had to pay the full price listed with out Groupon. Yes, fascinating tech, for the young ones for exactly 90 minutes, but it just didnt feel as fun to us, as people said, seemed kinda routine and flat with sporadic burst of loud energy.
Very entertaining. Loved it and the meet and greet was amazing. Thank you, Dustin.
Great experience! So glad our family got to do this during our stay in Boston. Kids loved it and several audience members (myself included) got to participate in the show. Charles Playhouse was a little tricky to find, so I recommend giving yourself a little extra time if youre not familiar with the area. Lots of great restaurants and historic sites nearby.
Awesome time no matter who you are, amazing peformers that combine multiple forms of art to form a unique show.
Best show my kids have seen, very interactive
Weve seen Blue Man Group in Boston and Orlando. Its always fun show and my family has a great time
Not as exciting as everyone mentioned but worth seeing if never been before
Third time Ive seen it. The show always changes enough to be a new experience, along with keeping some old staples, such as speaking happy birthday and the dinner table. Its a wonderfully funny show that makes for a great date night. The interpretative music is also very impressive.
Very good show. Would see again.
This was an amazing show. I have always wanted to attend a Blue Man Group performance. The show was a spectacle of sound, lights and on stage visuals. However I know someone that worked there previously and I was given front row seats. While there is no debating the proximity to the stage was excellent, this show utilizes many props and materials it will find their way on to the audience. I left that show covered in banana puree, cereal bits and other things I really couldnt identify.Once was enough for me.If you have not seen the show, by all means please go. Just be prepared if you sit really close to the stage. I would recommend middle to back of the house if you dont want to get covered by various things during the show.
While the performance was good family fun for those of us that purchased tickets in the splash zone dawning ponchos for 1.5 hours it was disappointing. Of the 200 guests in the 1st six rows we all departed cleaner than when we arrived looking very smart (not) with our ponchos.Easy great 5 minute add: silly bit drum paint splash - bring it HOME !!!
Great entertaining performance by really skilled group of folks
Unbelievable New Years Day show! Took our 4 kids (3 daughters home from college + our 14 year old son) what a show! Bought tickets 2 hours ahead for the discount. Well worth the price. What a blast!
Its a cool show but the venue felt a bit cramped
We used our premium attraction from the GoBoston card, and were so glad we did. The card says you get an obstructed view or better ticket. We went on a Tuesday night, and we were offered tickets in the splash zone. The performance is so creative. They get the audience involved, too. The 90 minute performance flies by. Definitely a treat, especially if youve never seen Blue Man Group before.
A great experience! Maybe not for people who are sensitive to loud noises! If youre in town its a must see!
Super fun show and the length was perfect.
It’s a small place but it’s good, inside we can buy alcoholic drinks and enjoy the show. We can’t use the cellphone for nothing, no pics, no messages, no call. The show take about 2 hours. It’s a good experience
Fun time for the whole family ️
Never gets old. Great show.
Super fun! We didnt know what to expect but we really enjoyed the show! We drove from Cape Cod (where we were vacationing) to see the show. We always heard great things about the show and we lucked out that they were in Boston the same weekend we were in the area. If you dont want to get splashed dont get seats close up!
Awesome show. Always fun.
Excellent! Always an awesome show!
Its an amazing show, its incredible, interesting, entertaining, definitely its awesome
Was so pleasantly surprised. I was laughing and speechless at the same time. I would go see again.
This is our second visit, after a 19 year gap! A lot more participatory now as well as more use of visual media other than the human body and paint. Still many aha moments when you get them.
I saw them in 2012 and again in 2019. The show was similar. Not much had changed in 7 years. When they played their drum instruments the beat never changed. 2 and a half hours of the same beat. I thought is was a reggaeton concert.
Fantastic show. Very interactive, funny and kid friendly. Without saying much, the show is a must see, you wont be disappointed.
Love me some Blue Man Group. This Boston location is their long time home and its a nice small venue. Walking distance from the Boston Commons and nearby plenty of restaurants.
It was an experience. The show makes quite a bit of use of pre recorded video that the actors have to sync up with, which was disappointing. I sat in the front row and had a great view of everything. This show would probably be best for children. You arent missing much if youre over 12.
Amazing amazing amazing... i would rate 10 stars if I could!! Lots and lots of laughs. Crew was awesome and very helpful:)
A simply phenomenal show. Ive been hearing great things about it since over a decade ago, and finally decided to go this month. I can only say that I should have done it much earlier!
This show is fun no matter what age you are! Combines live music played from unconventional instruments, silent skits, humor, and some audience involvement. Best seats are on the lower level or upper level from straight on. Upper level side seats may not allow you to see the entire stage. A few acts are done via stage left and you can not easily see if you sit upper left balcony for example. This theatre is small. It has a small lounge area and you can buy drinks. Only restrooms are on the lower level and are very small. Long lines after the show to use them. Show is 90 minutes without an intermission. Very well done and a cant miss if you are in the area! I have been to this show many times but it hasnt changed much over the past few years.
What an awesome family friendly show
If youre looking for a great show for all ages that is both exciting and entertaining then you wont be disappointed with the Blue Man Group. Its also still good if you and/or your guests dont speak/understand English well. Really a show for everyone. Not a dull moment throughout.
Had such a great time! The show was amazing. Only thing I would have changed is we bought seats in the front and it wasnt worth the extra money cause the room is quite small and the Blue Men perform through out the whole stage and seating area. They interact with the public a lot during there shows. I also wish you could take pictures and videos of the performance.
Great show. No matter the seating you feel like you are part of the show. Great views, a little venue. Only place really away from all the action is the top seats. But other than that it was a really great show and I would definitely encourage anyone who likes to laugh to go see a show. But be aware you may be in the show too.
Marvelous and wonderful. I am speechless.
Amazing experience. Havent seen anything like this before. The people performing this show are very highly skilled. Make sure you get best place to sit or else your vision might blocked by someone else in front of you.
Had a great time at Blue Man Group. Definitely a must see
Great for families. Meet and greet the blue man after the show. Kids really enjoyed. We all laughed out loud!
The show was awful and absolutely not worth the money. We had heard so much about it so booked expensive tickets over the Thanksgiving weekend to see it with two teenage kids. However, half of the time, we werent able to figure out what they were even doing (The performers spent a lot of time standing around and staring) and the other half was spent being less than amused at their comedy acts. We were completely bored and even considered leaving a couple of times but having spent so much, stayed on hoping for something spectacular to come up.At the end there was a blinding flashing of lights which more than being entertaining was a trigger for migraine. The show may be okay for really young kids but not sure the strange humor would be appreciated by that age group either. I would say save your money and spend it some place else.
Sadly disappointed. Boring.repetative.for the money you pay for tickets its not worth it
Been wanting to see this show for years. Finally got to go and was not disappointed! Energetic performance full of comedy and music. Loved it!
Great show, laughing most of it
Its been over a decade since I went and I still remember dancing and shredding toilet paper. Wicked awesome. My son just went to a matinee with friends. Afterwards, we walked and hung around on the Common. Easily accessible by Green Line or Orange Line, slightly longer walk from Red Line. Totally worth a fling.
The crowd and our company dad great as everyone got into the show. The show itself was not worth any price other than free. I have been three times in 8 years and it was better the last two times then now. Many of the same acts but less effort given. The extras were very visible through many of the acts. This is an ok kids show for the first time but not worth going more than once. Hopefully they will hire a director to improve the show or the numbers of patrons should decrease significantly.
Fun show. Kids had a blast. Havent seen it in 10 years. Feels like same twinkie skit?
Loved it! Not the best seats in the theatre, but enjoyed it nonetheless. The show was unique and nothing like what youd expect.
Loved it!!!!! Will definitely be back again.
Early show was GREAT for family
Eclectic and engaging silent performers making use of light and sound to mesmerize the audience. Loved the technology used.
This is the best show in Boston, hands down. Wonderful time to be had by all, kids, adults, college students. The Charles Playhouse is in need of some renovation, but that is true for all the theaters in Boston. Many thanks to the professional staff of Blue Man who make all the magic possible and thank you for the memories!
I went to see the blue man group when I was younger but I got sick and had to leave 20 minutes in. I am so glad I got the chance to see the whole show because it is so much fun. The whole audience was smiling and laughing. Its a great experience for anyone and everyone. (Though some parts do get loud if you have trouble with noise)
Fabulously family fun!! My boys are 7 and 10 and they were laughing so hard, it made my heart so happy. The show is the right length, no intermission, and I love that they have earlier shows on the weekend. Its pricey, but I think its worth it. Good memory of Boston. For those with younger kids, maybe check out a YouTube video ahead of time...the band wears glow in the dark skeleton outfits, which arent really that scary, but could bother younger kids. My whole family loved the BMG!!!
Its a Great masterpiece. Great idea, and talent. More fun and enjoyable if no seats but standing and dancing with the artists.
This BMG is an old staple in our Boston area. Still amazes me every time I see it. Like to see them add more to their current venue.
We went this past weekend and loved this show! My son definitely got a kick out of the blue men and he liked the photo op they provided at the end. Small theater, but definitely made the performance feel a bit more intimate.
We were in front row and I thought it was a pretty good show. I would recommend seeing it if your in the area and have some time to spare.
