Perfect balance i need in a park. All its missing is a waterfall and a longer trail

Probably a very pretty place in the Spring or Fall. It was a dreary cold day, but still enjoyed the .1 and .4 mile out and back.Had we not just run a half marathon it would have been nice to explore farther down in the other direction.No need to dress in any specific clothing for the walk/hike. Its a leisurely path that any pair of comfy shoe would work. The .4 was gravel.A good amount of people were on the path walking in running.

Its a graveyard... very well kept by the Sisters, a tiny plot of big history without so much as a bench, but I loved it for what it is. Blink n youll miss it on the road.

My husband and I took our kids to this park. My kids loved every bit of it. My legs told a different story. So much to see and a lot of walking. But its good exercise.

Great trail to run. With both paved and dirt. Mostly shaded. Definitely a popular path. Best for walking or running. Not much of a hike though. Mostly flat.

Great park for walking or jogging. Very scenic well thought out pathways. Gets really dark at night though, so Lighted paths for night walks would be amazing!

Cute little park. The trail goes along this tiny river. The scenery is beautiful and is perfect for a hike by yourself a friend or even your fur baby. Its also a nice place to bring a book and just sit and enjoy nature.The only thing odd about the park is that it is on street parking.

Jemison Park is a beautiful place to walk. It has a great walking trial.

Just a good place to take your dog for a walk

Great for jogging, walking dogs and playing in the water with kids. Parking is roadside and there is no playground. Some paths are more wooded so bike riding would be a challenge.

Great place to relax, walk or run. There are benches throughout the park and a brand new bridge to help you over the stream. The park has a tendency to flood after moderate rainfall, but has sidewalks and is generally flat. There are beautiful homes that line the park.

A great getaway right in the middle of the urban environment.

I love this park. A lot of parking available up and down the park. Paved 1 mile, very pretty natural trail adding .6 miles. In and back. Great for strollers and dogs.

Nice park along Shades Creek in Mountain Brook.

A very pretty place to walk and enjoy the outdoors without having to drive for an hour. We saw many walkers, joggers and bicycles on the paths.

Like having Cades Cove right in the middle of town.

Good for a stroll or run

This is my favorite trail in Birmingham. I love how it is a beautiful nature trail in the middle of the city and how it runs right along a creek. This trail also crossed the creek and has concrete steps in order to pass the water. This is a great place to get a good workout at all while enjoying awesome scenery. It is also close to Mountain Brook so you can walk to Mountain Brook village and enjoy a coffee or ice cream as part of a fun weekend workout. I would highly recommend this gravel trail

Beautiful trail paralleling Mountain Brook Parkway. Just wish it were longer.

Love this short trail. The hydrangeas were in full bloom and everything had that nice green feel you get after a rain shower. The scout trail is exceptional and my husband and I ate lunch there.

Went to festival at shades creek sat and had best time. So much fun and also walking the creek was very relaxing. Dont forget warm temperatures means snakes are moving Keep Your Eyes Open for Them.

A very cute trail in a convenient location. It is dog and bike friendly, and many people come to go running. The price for being so near the city, however, is that there is a good bit of trash, which is sad to see. There were plastic bags caught in trees lining the creek. Still a beautiful place to go, though

Cute place to go walking. You can see different birds and sometimes other critters. My husband and I stop here sometimes if we are going to be making a stop at the gardens or the zoo as we don’t live around here.

Just driving down Mtn. Brook Parkway to my church. It does have a wonderful walking trail. Visible to street and always people around. About 3 blocks or so long.

Wooded walking trail. Dog-friendly. Be on guard, have witnessed a snake close to walking paths (dusk). Generally, however, great place to run/walk year-round.

Especially at this moment in america, the story of the civil rights struggle is an important one to hear and our tour guide told it so well! Clay had full command of the history of the violent struggle in Birmingham, his stories were peppered with many fascinating details, he was totally engaged and brutally honest about the obscenities committed by both radical racist individuals and organizations and the government officials who aided them. we walked thru neighborhoods and parks in downtown Birmingham and drove thru outlying neighborhoods to bear witness to this dark chapter of american history. bring tissues - youll need them.

This park is great. Its nice for running or bringing your family for a leisurely walk. There also a lot of people that bring their dogs which my kids loved! Its mainly shaded and its located in a great part of Birmingham. A lot of the people were super nice and friendly that we met on the trail.

Wonderful Green space alongside Shades Creek. Not so much a park more a meandering meadow of varying width alongside the creek.

Scenic walkway with spots to reach the creek. Calling it a park is a stretch though, there arent any facilities or playground equipment,etc that I saw.

Very beautiful, lots of mosquitos though and watch out for snakes!

This is a great path for running or walking. We brought our dog here and she loved that most of it is in the shade. There were multiple other people on the trail too.
