Nice area for birding and to enjoy nature and go for a walk
Beautiful area for wandering
My dad brought me here a couple years ago & we spent almost all day exploring the property & just walking around enjoying nature. Its such a beautiful property. I wish I could travel back in time to see what it looked like years ago when the original owners lived here. Such a cool place to check out, get some exercise & fresh air.
Someone is spraying graffiti on signs and defacing the park...sad
BEAUTIFUL park! Didnt know it existed till I stumbled upon it while riding my bike, and now I think itll be a go-to park whenever I want to be outside
This place is such a beautiful place to visit! When I was younger I use to have a little picini near by and walk around the place. This is seriously my dream home and I would love to live there one day. Best place in the world in my preference
Beautiful grounds. The restoration of the mansion looks amazing so far.
Outstanding scenery, peaceful and very calming envuronment
Too many dogs and people dont clean up.
Nice place to bring the kids
A beautiful and historic site. A beautiful house and a great view (of mountains).
This place is great. Amazing natural scenery, historic architecture, and just cool place involving local history. I just wish the city of Bethlehem did a little more to support the conservation park.
Great place to walk if you want a challenge.
As an author of the guidebook for this property and a student of the Johnston family and its legacy gifts to the area, Id like to point out that Housenick Park is part of the Bethlehem Township (not city of Bethlehem) park system. The township has been working slowly and surely to make the park more accessible to its residents. The latest improvement (completed in the fall of 2015) is a paved parking lot capable of accommodating a few dozen cars.Over the next few years, additional improvements, including new trail signage, will be put in place. In the meantime, a walk from the parking lot to the big house (now signed as the Archibald Johnston Mansion), down the drive, along the Monocacy Creek, and back to the parking lot is approximately 1.5 to 2 miles with gentle grades (a person using a wheelchair was able to go from the parking lot to the bird blind and back in 2014).Housenick Park is a passive park, meaning there are few amenities. It is open from dawn to dusk. Visitors would do well to take a phone and, during the warmer months, do a tick check of exposed skin on returning to vehicles.
A nice quiet park.
