Absolutely love this. 30 min drive from Bend, outdoor fireplaces, warm bathroom, mini lodge with wood burning fireplace, bring your own wood. The sledding area is steep enough to have a blast but not so steep kids get hurt. One side has Moguls which act as jump for sleds. Other side has non. Perfect sledding area for while family. We will be back for sure. This area was clean, plenty of room for a snack.
Lots of fun for the whole family. Long and wide for sledding
The kids always have a great time here. Helmets might be a good idea though. It gets very crowded here so be aware. The parking lot on certain days can be very icy and you will slide, we almost crashed into a car in front of us but my husband crashed into the snow wall instead.Overall its a good hill and you will have fun.
Great place to get out and play in the snow!
What a fun place to bring kids to or to bring out your inner child! Just up the road it was raining so we thought it was going to be a poor, slushy day for sledding, but as you can see by my photos, it was white, fluffy, and such a joy! There are public bathrooms, a public shelter building/room with a wood fireplace to warmup at or dry your wet clothes, and of course there’s a very nice (wide) hill at a 45 degree angle for safe, fun sledding (and building snowmen - ha!).We’ve been here twice now and will most certainly return. Enjoy!
Wanoga has a big sledding hill, x-country skiing, snowshoeing, and fat tire biking. Also has off leash dog area for x-country skiers.
Great play area for free, that is free if you dont count the money spent on hospital visits as a result of playing here!
Excellent snow mobile area and it’s the closest to Bend. There is an awesome open trick area to let loose on speed and hills. After that there’s trails going way back and you can even get to Edison snow park if you wanted. Will definetly be coming back to this one often.
All of these sno parks leading up to mt bachelor are fantastic, but people are starting to abuse them this time of year. Do the minimum of picking up your own garbage, as opposed to leaving it behind. And spend the 40$ for a permit even if out of season as it helps fund the maintenance of these fantastic resources.
My husband got a concussion and small brain bleed at this park. When we went to the ER we learned of tons of other head/neck injuries and a few people who were paralyzed at this spot as well. I would love to see some warning signs up!
What a great hill for the kids to sled on, my kids enjoyed it for 3 hours, and were the happiest and excited kids ever for this Sno-Park, best to have the Sno-Park permit, available online or near by stores or Resorts, I checked and SunRiver Resort does not provide permit, but in the Village the Country Store does its like 3 minutes away from the SunRiver Lobby.
This place is great in the summer or the winter. Just attended the Oregon24 MTB relay race. This place is awesome.
Great sledding hill, and really nice to have the outhouse and warming building available. The fire pit became a fun gathering place, we made cocoa and cooked hotdogs for the kids. We all had a wonderful time!
Plenty of room. 2 pit bathrooms and more. Pump track for bikes. Very well setup
On sunny non-school days, this place is really busy mid-day, but still has a lot of room to get your toboggan on. A great place to spend a few hours and a few calories, and well worth the $5 for a sno-park pass.
Wanoga is the best start off point for great MTB riding in the Bend area. The famous Funner and Tiddlywinks trails start here was well as easy across the road access to the Swampy Lakes trail system. If gravel riding is your gig the National Forest service road system is epic and starts right in the parking lot. Good stuff.
Great place to go play for a couple hours with the family. Warming lodge on site, but no supplies so plan on bringing matches and fire materials. Very spacious area but can get crowded very quickly. Great hill for sledding.
The hill, parking lot and area around the warming hut was full of litter. Pieces of broken sleds, a whole graveyard of broken sleds, plastic bags of dog waste, coffee cups, lift tickets, paper. No garbage receptacle was evident. The warming hut had no wood, no fire going, no heat, no resources. Its a great hill but in terrible shape. Shame on whichever agency has the responsibility for this area.
Hauling Aspen run was great
My granddaughter got hurt there and had to go to the doctor
With the snow we had this winter, the hill was amazing. (Ive only visited once, so I dont know if thats the norm). The walk up is steep but not too long. The ride is thrilling. We used tubes, which are great. Lots of people on plastic sleds. Watch out for wandering toddlers. Collisions are almost inevitable.
Sno park. Has sno. Has park. Dogs allowed. Snowshoeing and xc skiing and snowmobiles.
Great sno park - for kids. The hill is wide, providing plenty of room for sledding, but it is a short and a fairly gentle slope. There is plenty of easy parking. And, a major bonus is that it also has an indoor warming room with electrical outlets.
Too crowded, too many dogs, no parking, DO NOT come here, no fun to had, crummy skiing and sledding and fatbiking, annoying people, too. Especially bad when clear - you will get sunburned! Lame mtn bike trails - flat tires, sticks in the eye!
Dangerous place to sled, at least two kids paralyzed yesterday on this hill. Mt. Batchelor is much safer
My kids absolutely love this place especially with all the snow. Only problem was the bathrooms were horrid. Not even any toilet paper. Just have to be careful when the snow melts because it is so slippery. I sprained my ankle and i barely touched the ice :/
Its kind of like your own backyard if you live by Natiinal Forest: not manicured, no signs, no upkeep, bare but very nice lodge to keep out of the elements. A family favorite for sledding on the east end, snowpark motorized on the westside with decent snow. Just okay but sometimes simple is best.
Was difficult to climb over the snow pushed to side in parking lot to get to sled hill. Otherwise, great.
Was empty today, nice to be outside on a spring day!
It is very crowded
Always a great place to play
Wanoga is a great start for beginner bikers. You can shuttle from here down to Storm-King trail. It only takes 30 minutes to ride.
Great! Easy parking nice area to warm up. Dont forget your snow Park pass.
Great
Good place to take kids for sledding.
First time fat biker, had an awesome time!
Lame need other snow hills to many people and no parking........
Craziness
Can get crowded and dangerous.
Bodes favorite skiing spot
Fun park!
