I really don’t recommend this resort if you’re in Oregon. Mt Hood has multiple resorts with amazing prices and customer service. I purchased late arrival tickets that were day specific for two at $168. I showed up 03/07/19 at 11pm and they had a pipe burst due to not managing equipment properly and didn’t notify their web page of this issue until the next day apologizing for the issue. Unfortunately for me I made the four hour drive in the rental car for no reason. I requested a discount on lift tickets as a refund or transfer was out of the question. They refused to take responsibility for the incident and said I should have returned at a later date with me day specific ticket? The customer service was horrendous from both women I spoke to. I know things can get rough in the ticket office this time of year but the hanging up, or putting the person on hold while they are talking is extremely unprofessional. The last thing you should do when delivering bad new is to do it with attitude. I won’t be visiting this spot and highly regret the trouble I put myself through to get there.
During a weekend trip to Bend in late October we drove out to Mount bachelor and were pleased to enjoy a be er and a fire while a DJ played music in the parking area! Inside the ski shop they were also having a winter sale including 10% off brand new skis. It is an easy drive from Bend to Mount bachelor and we enjoyed the sunshine while out there!
My. Bachelor was amazing and the ride up to the top was something my wife and I will never forget. It was her first time being on a ski lift! The hiking during spring, summer and early fall is plentiful and the views are amazing. Skip the restaurant at the top as the pizza was super hard and the garlic knots were missing one key ingredient... Garlic. Other than that, it was an amazing day for us both.
Went mountain biking on closing day. It was super busy. The lift lines were kind of long. But the staff were all amazing and everything ran smoothly despite the huge crowd of people. From talking to people that ride there on a regular basis they said there had to be at least double the amount of people on the mountain that there usually were. The trails are all awesome as well. I will be back next season!
Me and my fiance did the Zipline today. All of the staff was incredibly friendly and overall seemed happy to be there. The Zip was a blast, would recommend and do again. A little pricey but worth it.
I love the place. Always gets me excited for the winter season. I love to go snowboarding at bachelor as much as I possibly can squeeze into a season. I do enjoy all other winter sports like skiing, sledding, and cross country skiing. So obviously this place is the place to go for all of that fun stuff. And there are summer sports probably. Lol!
For the Bike Shop:The guys in the shop really helped me out bleeding my rear brake and also found a hairline fracture in my rear caliper. Super high attention to detail, very nice, and super reasonable pricing. Really appreciated their expertise this past weekend,
High prices, poor staff attitude, few operating chairlifts, creepy insistence on obtaining your personal information. Also, Bachelor’s Military discount is not actually offered to Military Reservists, Veterans, DOD employees, or Military Retirees. With their staff’s poor attitude, one might assume that Bachelor “owns the mountain” and the land on which their chairlifts and facilities sit. However, this beautiful mountain is actually U.S. Forest Service Land, and unfortunately, leased to POWDR Resorts, Inc.....Yes according to wikipedia, it appears your hard earned money is going to a Park City Mountain Resort; POWDR resort, who, mistakenly failed to renew a sweetheart lease for a portion of its ski terrain acreage, the company was eventually evicted from the property and, after a protracted legal fight, reluctantly sold its remaining area assets to Vail Resorts for approximately 180 million dollars in late 2014
Im not big on the outdoors but I had a genuine good time at Mt. Bachelor. It was beautiful. The free snow shoeing tour is a must if you love nature. Its not really oriented to a gift shop experience. You need to know why you are there, its not super touristy.Oh, and of youve ever seen that episode of South Park with the Aspen ski instructor, there are literally those people working at the ski shop. It was hilarious.
Needed to know if they were conducting downhill biking. Only received attitude and none clear answers followed by a phone hanging up. I ski here a lot and this has made my mind of not getting a season ski pass for 2020-2021
Absolutely beautiful! We just did a drive up and check it out, but the shop, bar, and cafe were all splendid. Had some nice hot cider and a treat and walked around. The snow was perfect and the parking lot full! It seems to have a good vibe. The set up seems to have a good flow to things and all the bases covered. Despite the intense storm the night before, the roads were just fine getting up there and back. Snow plows were all over keeping driving conditions the best possible.
Great ski resort on the west coast. Snow are soft and drier than some location in Washington state. Less crowded and usually no waiting line. They have only one lift(summit express) to the top, that is usually where the waiting line is. But the view and snow are totally worth it and the back of the mountain is awesome for professionals to explore. Be sure to go there by team. I went there end of March this year, snow is still very good and I feel the trail in the back of the mountain are just for me, We didn’t see any one else skiing down the same route. If you like tree runs, northwest express are the place to go, there are so many intermediate-advanced level tree runs and you can still find powder after a week.
Zip lining anyone!? Look at the view ok imagine it from varying heights while zipping down the beautiful hill!
The resort is doing a great job maintaining good skiing conditions, and a cooperation from the Mother Nature should make it even better. Good layout of slopes and lifts, and cafes and restaurants on this volcanic mountain.
It was awesome. The scenic ski lift ride was awesome and the view going both up and down was great!
This is a great terrain for snowboarders...even with the insane amount of snow we had; it was great!
Drove all the way from Vegas with family, got to the resort and most of the mt was closed do to weather we only got to see a little bit of the mt, But we still had a great time and really enjoyed it. Cant wait to come back when there is better weather and the whole mt is open. I recommend this mt definitely come check it out.Would give it more stars but only got to see a tiny bit of the mt.
Really great set up from parking to getting to the lifts and back.
MT. BACHELOR IS THE BEST!!! The mountain is always SO well groomed, and the staff is friendly and dedicated to providing a wonderful experience even in harsh conditions!!
Always fun to get out and into nature
One of the best places to snowboard or ski in the Pacific Northwest! The lifts are fast, lines are not crazy long (at least when we went - during spring break mid-week). Lots of terrain parks and a lot of fun. The food at Sunrise lodge is just so so as it is all mostly quick food like burgers and chicken tenders and not much selection. Didnt get a chance to eat at the main lodge. They have a lift that takes you to the Summit and from their you can ski or snowboard down any part of the mountain. They groom all the way to the summit.
Small secret below. I did a zipline. It was really awesome. Everything is very well maintained and all the instructors are real pros. It is absolutely worth the money!A small secret - when you done with zipline, you can use the lift again and go back uphill to take a meal in the lodge. Lift is included in a zipline package.
16 of fresh pow made this visit one to remember. Lines were pretty long (which was expected) but the slopes always seemed empty - tons of space to get some runs in. Very enjoyable experience
This resort was run by some of the friendliest staff I have ever interacted with. From the people at the ticket counter, to the cooks at the cafeteria, every single interaction was positive and genial. Not to mention the excellently maintained runs and machinery. They also have the best place to learn with multiple bunny hills and many free instructors giving advice as you make your way down. My experience at this snow sports location was the most enjoyable I have ever had, and I cannot wait to return to snowboard again.
Ive been going to Bachelor for 30 years and I believe it is a great place to ski. Unfortunately, their limited reopening reservation process to salvage a few days of skiing after Oregons governor allowed them to reopen during Covid-19 pandemic was VERY disappointing. The 500 reservations per day sold out in no more than a few seconds each day. I understand the demand, which is why I was on the website and constantly refreshed my browser so that I could get a reservation. I was able to initially obtain a reservation with literally hundred remaining on two different occasions but the system kicked me out both times when I tried to checkout. It begs the question of whether someone or many had figured out a way to game the system. I would suggest a different approach if this (God forbid) happens again, such as limiting folks to one reservation for the reopening, so that others can get their fair share.
Beautiful place to visit year round
I’ve received help from a gal named Hilary twice now. She is kind, professional and very knowledgeable about the services offered at the mountain. Thank you Mt. Bachelor for hiring quality customer service employees!! And thank you Hilary for loving your job and treating us so nice!!
The zip line was incredible. Amazing view.
We tried classic Nordic skiing. It is great for beginners as it is on a flat surface. Lessons for an hour for a group of 4 and rentals costed $90 per head
The best skiing in Oregon. I love this mountain.
I am sure in winter it would be buzzing with life but in summer I could feel the humongous mountain standing tall. Being surrounded by many lakes..Its a must in summer too.. Waiting to see in winter. I am sure to feel the mountain snow activities would be awesome. Todays picture where I could still see snow considering we are at peak summer.
I love this place. A true winter wonderland!!! Be you a skier, or a boarder, or both, they have the lifts, that lead to trails, runs, and freestyle stuff that every shredder lives and dies for!!! Great skiing and boarding by day and right next to the awesome town of Bend, OR for all your fuel in the sense of incredible food and brews to prepare you for the next day!!!
Even in 16 degree weather the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I really enjoyed the Red Chair run!
Little spendy, but worth all of money. Great place to go. All type of slopes from beginners to advance. And also great area for freeriders.
Love it every time! Midweek its like having the entire mountain to yourself. ️️
Great skiing and tons of fresh powder
What a mountain! Had a great time, friendly staff, and fantastic conditions.
Very expensive, but well worth if you utalize the entire mountain. For advanced riders you could ride a different run every day all season and not run out. For beginners there are fewer options, though the options are very good.
Best mountain in Oregon. Great snow. The terrain is the most advanced, but the powder is an blue bird days more than make up for it.
Beautiful area to camp. We stayed on the North side of Mt. Bachelor. It was cool and sunny, great weather to hike. And the network of mtn bike trails are the best I have seen. 5 stars for the trails! They were laid out specifically for mtn bikes. The trail ratings feel a bit off though. Some of the intermediate trails were super easy, some more difficult.
One of my absolute favorite mountains. From the incredible terrain, to the infrastructure, great staff, and overall well run operation, this mountain should be on everyone’s list.
Not a big mountain with lots of track, but entertaining. A bit expensive for someone used to Canadian prices.
Although the weather was freezing rain, the resort itself was great. All of the lift attendants were attentive, and the ski instructors were awesome! We got lost at the end of the day and ski patrol was helpful and led us back to base camp! Would highly recommend.
Such a great ski area, a bonus when the summit is open
Great skiing! Back bowls are nice when they are open. Outback and Northwestern lifts are less crowded. Sunrise wait is too long. Staff are great for efficient and fast rentals.
Amazing mountain. But i hit a couple runs that were supposed to me groomed and they were just powder and ice. But other then that this is my daily mountain (GOODJOB BACHELOR)
Great, just so smoky and windy
Beautiful place! Some lift lines could be better managed, but overall a nice set of runs and beautiful scenery. Grab the lift up to the summit if its open!
Very helpful people and staff
Always a good time. People are fractious who work here and helpful. We brought the Motorhome and slept In the Parking Lot. $20. Easy access for the second day. Little noisy at night with the parking lot crew but not bad.
Its a great place. I dont like what the managements done with the place. It used to be family owned spot now its not. its hella pricey. $107 a day.....thats crazy.
Snowy conditions provide a truly unique ski/snowboarding experience.
We came too late and were disappointed the snow tubing was closed, but it was still worth the trip for the gorgeous views.
We vacationed over Presidents weekend and it was FANTASTIC! All the staff from parking, to bartenders, life operaters, to information peeps and ski patrol were extremely friendly! It was a great place to ski!!!
Best customer service of any resort I’ve skied. Cecylee is one of a kind, very professional and considerate! I recommend Mt Bachelor to anyone looking for a fund winter vacation!
I would like to recognize their employee, Terry, who works in sales. He spent over an hour helping my son and I find all the right fitting gear for his mountain biking class he will be taking. He took the time to really explain the benefits of the different equipment, and we walked away buying pads, goggles, and a helmet thanks to his great service and help! He was so nice and super knowledgeable. 5 stars for Terry!
Reserved parking isnt about safety, its about price gouging parking and auctioning spots. New owners are greedy they receive kickbacks from the government and still charge 40 bucks for parking. I got a refund and bought a pass from Hoodoo instead, Im done with Bachelor!
This is some of the longest tubing runs Ive ever seen! It was great fun for all of my family.
Well run and designed lifts to minimize waits
Has the coolest program for young and old: a sledding hill with sleds/tubes included into the hourly rate.Did I mention the hill has a winch system so you get your limpus corpus up the hill. No more irregular heartbeat climbing up the bunny slope in slippery snow. They charge you by the hour, most folks give up after 30 or so minutes. I challenge any folks to a IRONMAN contest: I lasted 2 hours with a pair of kids. The kids slept the whole 6 hour ride back.
This was our first time at this resort and we really enjoyed it. We were there over the Christmas holiday and even though many people referred to it being very busy we never had to wait more the 5 minutes to catch a lift. The place has a significant number of intermdiate runs. We were not able to ski the top the mountain due to not quite enough snow. Definitely will return to ski again.
Ive been coming here since I was 5, 42 years later and I have to say this is my Favorite place to ski in Oregon... love this place!
They dont mention their address in proper way. We had to take several routes to get there but still couldnt find the address and missed the whole excitement.I hope they will refund my money as we missed snow tubing and time got wasted because of their negligence. They should be more proactive regarding this matter. And also they dont mention about this problem earlier and after giving them call they asked us to take the shuttle bus when the tubing time was about to getting end.Just disappointed and angry.
An EXCELLENT place to ski! And great opportunities for kid lessons as well. It is expensive though!
So beautiful and the parking lot in the back was a sideshow the whole time. Everybody was losing control but on purpose having so much fun. Donuts drifting in the snow. It was a blast at this place.
Friendly staff and great MTB trails.
Best BIG resort in Oregon. There is comparable if not better terrain elsewhere but you cant beat the amenities and lifts.
I went XC skiing in the free area. The Nordic center is rather expensive. My destination was the Todd lake. The trails are pretty well marked but nobody has bothered to add the trails to either Google nor open street map project, so its difficult to know where exactly you are once you enter the web of the trails. There is a mix of XC, snowshoe and snowmobile trails. Sometimes it is difficult to distinguish the XC from the snowshoe trails. Especially since the snowshoers go wherever they like. You may even encounter people on the fat tire bikes meticulously destroying the ski trails. Obviously the whole area is a heaven for snowmobiles. They polute the whole area with their noise and smell.
The snowboarding classes were great. All the people and staff were really kind. The restaurant-pub is great, a little beat cold the rock Burger (maybe its part of the concept) but the drinks were awesome.
Easy to navigate and they have their parking lot and lift lines in order. Other resorts could take a lesson.
Mileage my very depending on conditions and weather, however, easily the most friendly/helpful staff and with so many runs!
Very friendly staff for loading your One Pass, and getting rental and demo gear. Also, excellent ski school instructors!
So beautiful with all the snow covering it.
Worth every effort to visit. This is a grand mountain with enormous terrain and hidden sweet spots.
Go early. Call or use web site to determine FIRST if all or specific lifts are running. Do note, despite the spiel, mt bachelor ski resort IS NOT A DESTINATION RESORT, there is no lodging there, nor evercwill be as it is all deschutes national forest land.Lunch is best had at Nordic Lodge, rather than West Village, walking 10p yards to the lodge from west village facility is well worth it: quiet setting in the log lodge with a deck, cafe, adult beverages, ski shop ( and nordic ski rental) and a big iron wood stove to warm up by.Nordic lodge not a good place for toddlers.
Deep fresh powder and endless terrain!
Had an amazing time here. The trails on the North West side of the mountain were loads of fun once you get below the tree line/out of the extreme winds. Over on the other side of the mountain at cloud chaser there is tons of fun to be had, but beware of flat areas. If you venture too far out you will get caught on an uphill cat track. The middle of the mountain definitely gets the most traffic. It was still relatively empty compared to NE mountains, even on a holiday weekend. The park seemed to be pretty basic, but I was told it usually ramps up a lot as the season goes on. Jumps were very well built and there were a variety of sizes to choose from.
Great place to ski. Reduced prices for pre-season skiing. Lots of parking. Military discount available only on the mountain - 50% off day pass.
Great lift ride, great dinner buffet, great sunset....what could be better other than to ski down :-)
Dec 2017. Not a lot of snow. Only two main lifts open plus the beginner lift. Cheaper lift tickets. Lots if rocks on the mountain.
What an amazing place to go riding! Wish they had night skiing tho
We came up for Christmas this year and we are going to make it a Christmas tradition such a breathtakingly beautiful place to be.
Only. Little Pine open, bullish open tomorrow. So only 3 stars today,, Little Pine does not challenge much.
Very friendly workers great parking very very nice
It just dumped loads of powder up at Bachelor, roads are icy but well worth the white knuckle trip to see mountains of snow just waiting for you to find your fresh line and carve your path.
Good luck getting an extended season ticket.
Very good ski resort. Many slopes for advance skiers and snowboarders.
Todays conditions...... Fun, light snow flurries all day. Get up here!
Very helpful and friendly, I love that early season vibe. Well done!
This is my favorite ski resort. The snow is almost always dry and fluffy and the staff are very nice. Spring skiing is generally better, but if you go on Christmas day, theres almost no one there. Im excited for the opening of Cloudchaser!
Prices are up, service and logistics are down. But the mountain is amazing.
Great skiing and awesome views. Kinda expensive though, and there always seem to be a few lifts closed. Still worth every penny though.
I have snowboarded here for almost 20 years. Its a favorite for me and my family. I wish you would go somewhere else.
