Well we had to pay at the Rangers Station $8 to go in if you pay cash...they tack on an extra $5 if you pay by card. Doesnt make for good fishing when people go swimming right around your lines! People going in that water is just a fatality waiting to happen....AGAIN. The park itself is not large. It is in better shape now, for sure. Table spread out. I saw a couple of restroom areas. A playground. The new boat ramp looks good. Saw one boat being lowered easily. Its was okay. Quiet there though.
Love this park. It was hit hard by Harvey, but that didnt stop them from restoring it and making it Beautiful! Quiet and peaceful park. Stayed in spot 20 and was absolutely perfect! Will be returning.
So impressed by the upgrades made after the damage caused by Hurricane Harvey. Had the opportunity to get a tour and use the park for some cub scouts. $8 for day pass but we purchased an annual pass so we can visit as often as we like. Plan to take my family camping soon. Great camping sites for tents and trailers, boat ramp, fishing area and beach area. The playground is awesome. Facilities were very clean. There is a bird watching shelter and 2 small groomed trails to enjoy as well. Pets welcome on a leash. Also its just down the road from the golf course.
Family and I have been coming here for years now. Weve always done tent camping with the boys but we brought our camper this time as we are older. This is a great place to visit. Located right on the Colorado River and easy access to it. Has a good wide boat ramp and there is swimming here as well. However, do that at your own risk. Lots of shaded camping areas for both tent and RV. Do watch out for the low hanging branches as I fell victim to one the first time I brought my RV here. Park ranger is always buzzing around the camp on his four-wheeler and is friendly and courteous and very helpful. I also need to mention the fact that there are restroom and shower facilities available here. Folks be warned however as this is a very popular place. Wife and I had scheduled a camping trip here recently and a barbecue cook-off was happening. We wont make that mistake again. So, if youre going to schedule a camping trip, make sure theres no activities like that going on. But then again thats pretty much any place you go camping. Planning on coming back here as work permits.
Enjoyed our short stay. Kids fished and played in the river. Nice roads to ride the bikes on, took a walk through the woods and seen lots of wildlife. Theres also a playground and clean restrooms. Very quiet and peaceful.
Its basically your typical county park. But Ill take it! There is access to the colorado river for swimming, fishing, and boating. They have a new updated playground for children. Small hiking/walking trail. Everything seems well-maintained with new picnic tables. FYI: So far the only grill/pit I saw for day use is near the Pavillion by playground. Its a nice place for a family outing or overnight camping trip.
Always a great place. Me, my dog and my friends always have a good but relaxing time here.Only downside is now if u pay the $8 entry fee by debit/credit card they charge an ADDITIONAL $5.00!!! RIDICULOUS
Well its always good when my husband and can go fishing and it was so peaceful on the river and for most I caught the most fish Love it there
Hidden gem. Had the back loop all to our selves for the weekend. Kayak the river. Caught some reds and gaftops. Geocaches. Short trails. Lots of deer.
I stopped just to look around on my way to Bay City. The deer were waiting for someone to come and feed them when I arrived. I sat for about 30 minutes and watch the deer while drinking my tea. A very calming and pleasant experience.
Great park to take your family and see some nature
Love this place.. so beautiful and serene
Boat ramp needs to be cleaned out better
The water was great, storms have been thru there I know but would have been nice to see the little beach area cleaned up better
Very clean peaceful the dock area is nice as well as all the picnic areas.
Peaceful place and good memories from my childhood
Theyve made very good changes to the park its awesome out there but I believe with the adjustment they made out there they went up to much for a pass I had to pay $8.00 for 30 minutes
Great place to camp had so much fun!
Park Ranger was friendly. There was so much stom damage last year. They have done so much work getting everything back in working order. I was impressed.
Looks like might need to put up some orange saftey fence! Lol
Looks Great, I cant wait to go camping
Nice little area,. Was lots nicer years ago
Amazing park. Great place to enjoy river activities. Park always clean. Great family fun
Ive caught many fish from this spot in the Colorado River. My best yet was a 4 ft. alligator gar.
Water was clear. Clean campsites.
It really is a great park. Due to hurricane Harvey there is some flood damage, otherwise it would have been a five star park!
Good family place
The fishing here is awesome. I will miss it!
Had a great time
Beautiful park! What a blessing to the city!
Great place!
Nice day in the park, i will be glad when its completed
Nice park
Riverside Park is awesome but the low rating comes because after the flood they worked hard on it but now the just let it go
Kids liked river and bike riding.
Looked interesting, camp history friendly and helpful, but still closed down due to Hurricane Harvey
Be careful mother and daughter drowned Fourth of July weekend 2019.. prayers and condolences to their family
The park ranger feeds the deer here. Its very cool to see so many wild animals put in the open. The dock is under construction, but the playground area for children was nice. They have sketchy public restrooms. Overall, Riverside is beautiful and has a nice feel to the park.
Its always been a nice place but due to Hurricane Harvey it needs alot of work. Theres no boat ramp to use, no restrooms or running water, no camping spots, and the playground is messed up & blocked off but they do have porta potties u can use & theyve opened the park for people to go swim!!!
Great Escape!
Relaxing park
Good to go fishing and BQ
Needs a little more landscaping upkeep but a great place for a hike or picnic or even just a bbq with the family. They have a Christmas display that is breathtaking...we visit every year like 20 times!!!
The park is closed.
Great place for a family camping trip. Lots of Deer, plenty of room to run around and a real nice staff.
Beautiful and peaceful. A kind of hidden gem in Bay City. Hard to find because GPS directioons arent accurate
