They are never open!!! How can visitors or tourists learn about the history of the town if you arer never open? They are closed on the weekends and holidays plus only open half a day when they are open. Weve tried to go the Matagorda County Museum six times and they are closed everytime.

Great place to take the kids... There is a kid friendly mini town..where they can play..act and do crafts...i was impressed

Always closed. As tourists, we come to Matagorda and Bay City often but the museum is always CLOSED on the weekends. So we decided to try for Monday, Labor Day and again closed.

Three stars because they havent changed much over the years. Kids really like the replica town in the basement which is for kids to play in.

The best museum ever

Great place to get a feel for some of the local history. Quite small but the downstairs has a kids museum that the tykes would love.

We loved it! The entry fee is just $2 per child. My little ones had so much fun checking out every store in the old town replica. Im so impressed with this museum.

It does cost to get in but not to much, enjoyed with my family of six less than 20 dollars

Love this place.Perfect for my 4 year old and my 19 month old.

My son loves to come here when its too hot to be outside.

Good place to take out of town visitors and the Childrens Musuem in the basement is awesome. Some new exhibits upstairs would be lovely.

Nice museum. We were there for an event so we didnt get to go through and see all the exhibits.
