It is puzzling... I go at least once a week.. Every week.. Yet my comp reward for the month of September is $0....not 1 red cent... I had been stuck on $10 a week forever. No matter how much I play. But to just skip any reward for my money.. I am very disappointed.
The bed was comfortable. Lots of pillows. Blanket was kinda thin for my taste. Carpet was clean. It was not all shiny and new but it was comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our TV didnt work but after a couple of calls they got it fixed for us. The location is great!! Its decorated beautifully and has a bar there. I felt safe during our stay and there is gated parking. Id definitely stay again and highly recommend it. Wish we couldve checked out the casino. The walls are super thin and I could hear people on the street talking (I was on the 5th floor). Sounds dont bother me much but just FYI.
This is a fun place to go just to get out for a while but thier machines are outdated and the casino needs remodeling. The atmosphere is not welcoming to me. The food is really good and fresh. And the bartenders are slow.
My trip to the belle casino was very enjoyable and I had a fantastic time especially when the called my name in the drawing for a great prize.
Normally its pretty fun to goin into and have fun. Due to Covid-19 havent been abled to go back. Fun place.
The staff were friendly and amazing service. The hotel itself is older and dated but a very pretty building however needs some work done. Overall our our room was clean and good but it needed updates to the room and the bathroom was extremely small. This hotel is in the perfect location just needs maintenance issues and updates performed and it would be so much better.
Great place to go gamble cause I win there often if you have not been there yet go try winning at the Bell
As a casino hotel I expected this place to be nice. I was very disappointed. It wasnt dirty or anything just out dated and felt like I was staying in a motel instead. There were no brochures or any information about the casino that would make you want to play. There wasnt even a microwave or a refrigerator in the room. Despite paying over $120 a night, breakfast wasnt even included, it was $10 a person. I would not recommend this place.
Very Ratchet But A Great Place To Have A Night Alone With The Slot Machine
Great front desk staff. Clean and quiet rooms. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Fair price.
First of all, let me say this has NOTHING to do with the staff. Everyone was pleasant & welcoming. But the bldg needs major renovations/upgrades. The bedspread looks like my Grannys did 10 YEARS BEFORE Katrina... The bathroom floor & toilet were new but the TOILET SEAT was yellow & cracking. The desk phone did not work (no dial tone) and the chair had rusted metal arms & legs. When I turned the shower on, the water ran completely red rusted water. As we walked to the casino, ALL of the metal beams were rusted & old. This place is large & it looks like it was a VERY Beautiful place, at one time and could really be an awesome attraction again if someone make the appropriate financial investment into it to do the necessary renovations. Because it IS NECESSARY...
I was worried it would be overcrowded and impossible to enforce social distancing. But the slots are spaced out and theres no crowd to worry about.
Belle of Baton Rouge is gotten better I enjoyed this casino when Im home the winnings are good and thats what counts
Hotel is outdated. Needs remodeling. Staff and service is great. Location is great. Place needs to be updated.
Beautiful place and great games and the winnings r AMAZING !!!!!@
Loved almost everything about the stay! Beautiful place! I would definitely update the mattresses and pillows......they we very very hard.
Check in was smooth. No thermostat for ac, shower rod was pulled out of wall on both sides. Couldn’t shower with out flooding bathroom.
Its not the best. Its not the worst.
The Belle is a nice casino with a good variety of slots.
Property is in dire need of some updating. I automatically assumed that the room would have refrigerator and microwave but it did not have either. The staff was great and the hotel is in the heart of downtown.
I love this place! Super low key, no drama, no BS. Love it here.
The staff was very nice and the location was perfect. But the amenities were severely lacking. They are under going renovations so that may be the cause. The room itself was very clean but slightly outdated, but had no mini fridge or coffee maker and the drink machine in the hall did not work. We went down a floor and that drink machine worked so thankfully we had our Yetis to keep some water cool for the night.
The Belle always is clean and the slot machines and inside elevator are in good working condition
This room was the worst smelling room I have ever experienced! It smelled like a dead animal had crawled up inside the a/c unit. Disgusting; if I hadn’t have gotten in so late I would have requested another room or better yet another hotel! This place is old and run down- totally over priced for what you get!!!
Not worth the $230 we paid. The bathroom was the worst feature: mold and mildew, dirt, peeling paint, discolored toilet seat, broken toilet paper holder, and overall disgusting. The brass doors in the elevators were caked with what looked to be a year of dirt and wet splashes. Bellman was also valet and wasnt able to to take our luggage up but offered us use of the cart. Smell in the halls was sickening... like it was covering up something bad. Water made jackhammer like sounds when in use. Carpet had stains. Holes in doors that were covered poorly, signed ripped off the back of doors and handle not securely on bathroom door. This hotel has seen better days and depserately needs upgrades. Its worth no more than $100 a night. Would never come back.
I liked to walk alongside of the Mississippi River. There isnt any restaurants in walking distance.
Good place to stay. The people that work there are SO nice! Walk less than 5 minutes and you are on the Mississippi River levee. Cant beat it!!!
I started to put my review but I really dont need to after reading the reviews already posted they are stating facts this is the worst Casino and Hotel I have ever visited in my life save your money and go somewhere else unless you have money to waste I have stayed at a Motel 6 motel before that was better then this place warning. DO NOT STAY HERE. Dried up paint on the sink. Old gum by the sink this place is a waste of money and then they are rude you you bring it to their attention smh
It’s always a pleasure to stay at the Bell . The price is perfect and the rooms are very posh
Absolutely hands down the WORST gaming I have had anywhere in the continental United States. For that fact the world. Employees made you feel as if you were bothering them if you asked any questions. Especially the cocktail waitresses. My date and I decided to stop there for a little fun on 12/22/19 around 12:30 am but fun was the last thing we had. First we stopped by these slot machines to start playing and had to stop a waitress after she delivered a drink order. She had body posture and attitude as if we had ruined her night. Got most of our order minus lime and salt for my dates drink. Was told they were out of both. Next we went to the Blackjack table and started playing there. I excused myself from the table to go to restroom. When I returned another player had moved my chips to the side, one $25 chip missing, and was told if I move I lose the seat. Dealer and pit boss watch the interaction between the player and myself and said NOTHING. Never have I been to a casino that your money wasnt safe on any table except this one. As I went to cash in my chips the pit boss called me over to apologize but . Well I will tell everyone in the Baton Rouge area drive a few miles further to Laberge Casino. Cleaner and way more friendly and most of all SAFE place to play. UNBELIEVABLE.
I had to wait a hour for the receptionist to get off her break to even check me in. even though I had a reservation for a king bedroom they put me in a two full bed room. I tried to speak to the security lady and I had to wait for her to get off her phone. Then they put me on the first level and the walls in the bedroom were dirty there was a stain on the bathroom floor. Dent on the bathtub. Curtains and blankets look like they been around for a few decades. Cracks on wall wall paper peeling in several areas. Green mildew on the exterior of the windows. No USB connections anywhere in the rooms. The biggest annoyance is Employees dont like to be bothered with guest questions.
We arrived late they were very accommodating BUT got to our room and the hall reeked of marijuana being smoked in someone’s room. The room had a horrible odor, the bathroom was very dirty and just all out disappointing. The picture online are very misleading.
Need a big upgrade today! Was not happy with rooms)! Need new everything!
The rooms are adequate. Very outdated and the phone in our room didnt work. Had to spend 15 mins trying to get a hold of the front desk from my cell. There were a few alarm clocks on the floor behind the bed, like if one was dropped instead of picking it up they just put out a new one. Now the staff. They were are awesome. Jerome went above and beyond to help us with whatever we needed whether it be crawfish or a shuttle to Bayou Country Fest. He was awesome!!! The manager that was working with him both nights was just as amazing. She was great, she didnt have to shuttle us to Jack n Box after the concert but she didnt without dismay. I wish I could remember her name. She deserves alot of credit. The hotel needs alot of improvement and to bring back some of the stuff that used to be there but I would stay there again and again as long as the staff stayed the same.
Lobby is quite character filled, with old warehouse structures enclosed. Room was clean, spacious but no coffee pot as there is complementary coffee in the lobby. No breakfast included, we saw where there was a breakfast restaurant but at 8am there was no sign of life
Location is great! Gorgeous river views and walking distance to several restaurants.
A little bit ghetto but really neat location. Really enjoyed going here.
The rooms are very dated and the entire building smells really bad. I asked for a refund since I had only walked in looked and seen it was filthy. Of course they did not want to refund the entire amount. There was fresh stains on the tables, around the toilet l, the floors and chairs. They will not have to worry about me staying here ever again.
The bathrooms in the room was VERY small. There was hair in the towels that was not mine and hair on the shower walls, again not mine. There was a spider in the toilet paper roll. The mirror was dirty and the handle for the shower did stay in position long enough to get hot enough water. One of the lights in my room did not work and the lighting itself was almost as dark as the room. The restaurant was a joke. Paid $8 for 2 drinks and that took more than 30 minutes to get and pay for. Understaffed is an understatement. Breakfast at the 102 restaurant was not too bad but the service was under par. And not speedy at all. The public restrooms had feces on the stall walls. The only reason I give 2 stars is because the staff was very friendly.
Real nice atmosphere and friendly staff safe parking just need too update the room and put a microwave in it
The bathtub was dirty and the shower didn’t work, didn’t feel comfortable sitting in filth. The facility overall is just drab and run down
This place is horiable, terrible!!! They deserve negative stars. Hotel staff has no clue about anything in the hotel they run/manage. No hospitality whatsoever. Casino staff even talks about how horiable the place is. I would not recommend this place to anybody at all. The hotel had nobody staying their and i see why now. Stay far away from this place! I dont post reviews but I had to take the time to post this to save people from making the same mistake.
The rooms are nice. A little wear and tear. Except for gambling, there’s not much activity in the bar and lobby area.
Dont waste your time gambling here. Machines are not going to let you win anything. I have been in awhile. A waste
Room was dirty, amenities were not open, casino was dirty, dingy and old appearance. Staff was standoffish and non caring. Will not return
It was okay. Nothing to brag about, but also nothing to really complain about either.
I still like the casino, especially, miss Gloria, Dawn and Tommy, the cocktail severs. They make sure you are treated like a guest. Miss Doris in security is on point. I dont like the point, that you have to go on another floor to get water or an alcoholic beverages when their isnt a server on third deck. I thought when the Bell change ownership things would be better. But to me its got worse.
Wife and I stayed at the Belle in April of 2018 to attend a concert a few blocks away. The hotel is located in a nice, quiet part of town. We felt safe and relaxed in the area, and enjoyed some nice walks along the river, as well the surrounding streets. The hotel itself is very nice. The gated parking is great and it gave us peace of mind that our car was safe. In fact, we didn’t even see our car for our entire stay because we had no worries for it’s well being. The hotel is very clean, our room was nice and spacious, the staff are helpful, and pleasant. The atrium is beautiful, as well as the big lobby. All in all, a very pleasant experience. We look forward to staying there many more times in the future. A nice, quiet, safe, place to stay and relax with no worries.
Very quiet today, hardly anyone there. Arrived at noon and buffet was closed.
This hotel stay definitely ranks at the bottom of my hotel stays. Maybe not the worst, but close enough. My boyfriend booked this room kind of last minute for a work meeting in BR. So we didnt necessarily need a casino hotel, but he thought casino hotels are normally a safe bet as far as quality and maybe could make the best of the work trip and do a little gambling too. There are no outside signs directing you to the hotel. So I was very confused trying to just find where to park and go in at because I definitely didnt feel safe walking from the parking garage. The surrounding area is pretty sketchy. The casino signs lead you to the casino (obviously) which no matter where you park is a long long walk. Totally separate building. Parking in the parking garage theres a long walkway around the back of it that you take. And if youre walking from the hotel you might as well bring a canteen of water for that trek. My boyfriend thought I was being dramatic when I told him over the phone so he timed it. From our room it was a 5 minute walk to the casino. I know it doesnt sound like a lot, but theres nothing inbetween the two destinations and you gotta go up and down ramps and escalators/stairs.Place feels like a ghost town. I stayed on a Tuesday so maybe it gets more poppin on other days, but it was pretty desolate. They gave me the furthest room from the elevator on the top floor. Someones gotta get it right? The room needed a LOT of updates. Cracks in walls, rust on the tub, the toilet seat was all tore up. How in the hell does a toilet seat even get worn down like that?? And why wouldnt they just replace it? Surely toilet seats arent that expensive.I literally woke up in pain from how uncomfortable the bed was. The AC was extremely loud. In the middle of the night I guess theres boats or something, because you hear loud loud horn blowing. Not just one time. Two separate occasions there was like three sets of horn blowing.I dont recommend this place at all. And honestly I hope the hotel doesnt respond with the same generic BS that they do with the other reviews. Save a couple clicks Belle because its doubtful reviews are actually being read and taken into consideration anyway. To me, its quite obvious that they literally just dont care about the quality of the hotel and are just concerned about getting their money. $10 wifi fee? Neither of us used the wifi. That should be an upcharge not a required fee.Just dont stay here.
The slots definitely do not pay out as much or as often than in years past.
From a four star to a one in four years. Problem after problem. Light out in bathroom not fixed before or when they came to get the towels. They took all used towels and didnt replace them all. Carpet was ripped up by the door. Cricket in the room somehow. Half the towels smelt badly. TV was very old box style and broken, remote was taped up. Shower rod broken and wouldnt keep curtain shut. Stuffs all over bathtub and on tile by its base, hopefully not mold. Toilet lid broken. Knocked on our door at 9 each morning and we asked for towels, she said she didnt have any but it was a cart with towels that we saw right down the hall. Stains and tear on chair in the room. They didnt clean the room before or after, just took towels and bed still messed up, didnt replace shower gel after it was used up, trash behind night stand from previous guest, microwave without time and not cleared of cooking time. Wing sauce at bar was terrible. AC kept making screeching noise. Door scan to get into room didnt have all its parts. Gate code changed and we werent told it was going to so we could be aware to get the new one. The pen even ran out of ink writing all these things down on the note pad. Also the buffet upset my stomach which probably was just because it was buffet food. I rarely right negative reviews but I was so disappointed and it was just one thing one after another, I felt that I needed to. I wish that Id have known how far down this hotel has come in four years. I could have saved $100 to stay at a cheaper, better hotel. Also the people at the front desk just let us stand there ten minutes, if not longer, while half were just sitting there. We were trying to check in, I believe that it was the manager sitting on the side just letting it happen and it was two open computers. I see why the hotel has gone down so much with people like that running the hotel. The one positive was the bartender Saturday morning was very polite.
My daughters class had a graduation celebration here from McKinley and we had a great time!
I like it is small and quaint. Love the food court. Good meal for reasonable prices
I’d rather sleep in a carSo this “hotel” REEKED of mold and cigarettes, my dad went down to the casino and it was SO wobbly, the shower was dented and the dents were black while the rest of it was I think was white.there was brown residue in the toilet and there was urine, But the cherry on top of it all was, when we got into the room, there was a drawer that was UPSIDE DOWN. Yes, it’s better than sleeping outside but would not be my first choice. But the customer service was excellent
The employees were friendly and helpful. The rooms were a bit older but clean and a fair price. Parking was included in the room fee. The restaurant that was open late was in the casino and was more of a snack shack. They were out of major menu items like fish and chicken. Next time I think we will pack sandwich items in a small ice chest. We would stay there again because the positives of our experience far outweighed the negatives.
I’ve stayed in way better. You can tell the potential for a great hotel is there but the surroundings look so industrial. Once upon a time this hotel may have been elegant but now it’s a bit run down. The staff was less than friendly - not sure if that is common of the people in this area or not. Rooms were clean but people were yelling down the halls late night s we didn’t sleep well. The location is great though! Right on the Mississippi️
Went to visit the casino. It smelt a little but as a former smoker that part didn’t bother me too much. Smaller than expected. The restrooms were super dirty! Someone left the cleaning closet open on the first floor so I cleaned my own stahl before using it. Then I don’t know if someone turned the AC off or what but after an hour of being there it got extremely hot and muggy so we left. Also didn’t help that machines where not paying out much if at all. Probably won’t be back. But on a positive note the staff was very kind.
The hotel front desk girls were extremely helpful and pleasant.
I was there for a dance competition a few weeks ago, if you are going to host a function for children, you should separate the families from the drunks! It was constant noise and vulgar language in the hallway and in the parking lot until about 3 am, tried calling the desk and no one answered...will never stay there again
People were nice food was good but the rooms were very dated and the casino was to far away
I booked this hotel for my wife and I for our anniversary getaway. However, I deeply regret it and discourage any one else from staying here. From the array of disgusting smells in the lobby to the elevator to the rooms, to the terrible management. Our room smelled so strongly of mold and must that my wife couldn’t stop coughing and wheezing. I wish I could have found a different hotel that was not booked up for the weekend we were in town. The front desk girl did move us to a different room that was less smelly but said we would be refunded. The hotel has soooo much space not being used (unlike the description states) and everything is so run down it looks like a ghost town. We were charged on check in, then refunded. However, three days later we were charged again. Management has yet to explain anything to me and has been avoiding contacting me further. This hotel needs to be shut down.
Love the Belle casino.
I was so happy to stay here after a long day of driving. Clean, comfortable rooms and killer breakfast in the morning. Loved the gated/secure parking (kept my mind at ease). Also, being so close to the veteran memorial(s) and the Mississippi River was awesome. I’ll be back to enjoy again!
Very run down. Business center charges 5.95 for $15 of usage, computer outdated and slow so turned in to 30 min.Pay to print out my notes needed for a meeting.Room smelled like mildew.Woke up to a bedbug biting my arm. Staff completely apathetic.Had to ask for a resolution. No apology or offer to make it right until after I asked to be refunded.
Only giving 3 stars because it has the potential to be better.
This review is a 2 borderline 3. And the only reason it was given a 3, because their staff was extremely nice in all parts the hotel and casino. I Was a little disappointed in the Hotel, upon check in, You had to read this long policy about their no smoking in the hotel. Which Im fine with as I dont smoke. When I got to my Room the 1st thing was the entire Room smell like smoke. And bathroom was still dirty from the sink to its sticky floors. The 2nd Room was better. The hotel seems to be going through some changes or at least trying to keep it together. Unfortunately little patch jobs dont give you the kind of experience youre looking for from a classy hotel. Thank you to the staff.
Perfect location, really nice place, lots of room but not many on site things to do.
Very awesome hotel. I had a awesome time there with my family.
Can be dangerous. stayed at this hotel and i was put in a room that had a door going into a seperate room next door that could be opened. with other occupants in the room next door. why would anyone do this almost like being set up by hotel staff. i immediatly asked for another room. will never stay here agian also drug dealers outside the hotel. and club tourist stay clear of staying at this hotel.
I am here for a conference, so my experience is with the hotel and the conference center. I am only giving two stars because of the location. The room was smaller than I expected, especially the bathroom. I was also underwhelmed that there was no breakfast... only snacks to be purchased at the gift shop. Both the room and the public areas of the hotel and the conference center were poorly maintained. Although some of the staff were helpful, there was any overall attitude of indifference. If I were not staying here to be under the same roof as my conference, I would not stay here. There are many better choices available.
Old, dirty machines. Lady at player services was rude. Wouldnt let me replace my players card on my birthday claiming my ID was no good even though they let me in. It was ok for the security at the door but she wouldnt accept it. Makes no sense. Will not return here again.
Could have been cleaner but the stay was nice.
Very comfortable relaxation
Lights by beds did not work. Normally, Id expect to find a light switch on the wall that would control these, but there was not or at least one that was visiable. Switches on the lamps did not even control them.
I didnt like anything.. We checked in Friday. It took us an hour to get checked in. They dont accept Green Dot cards so we paid for our room with cash which was a $250 deposit - for smoking. The first room we were at smelled like smoke! so I dont know what the deposit was for. We were moved to another room once I spotted a bed bug. 2nd room was okay.. rooms dont include refrigerators or microwaves. Staff was new so they didnt know much.
Good Place to Gamble
Beautiful City, Great water front
Nice rooms, decent size. Employees at front desk was extremely nice and had lots of information about area. Some things are dated in the hotel but for location and price definitely easy to over look. Enjoying staying here as I type
We have stayed at the Belle of BR every January for the last six years for the Artemis Soiree’ at the River Center right across the street. From the cashier at check in to the guys who help me with my luggage, everyone is quick to help and always smiling! This year Kevin helped us with our luggage and made us feel like we were your only customers. Cassie at check in helped keep our families together on the 9th floor and with seven rooms she did a great job.Faithful Customer,Sheila
Laburge wayy better
Clean, friendly, cost efficient, great views
It’s a pretty good experience. Had a great time gambling.
Nice place to gamble and have a good time
Quiet. Fairly clean and has nice views.
2019 Natural Hair Expo was held here. Perfect spot for the event.
Enjoyed it, clean, great employees, & food.Broke even.
Im not sure what has happened, this used to be a very nice hotel. Now it seems to be run down
Great place fun games and nice hotel
Friendly staff, the rooms were a bit dated, but very clean with comfy beds.
Never was offered a drink!
They are prejudice there
Lots of slots/games, good drinks
The staff isn’t the best . Very rude when it came to checking like me& my family don’t belong here .
Nothing I didn’t stay and was still charged $130 never using this site again!
