It was a nice stroll by the river on the Brewer side..Great people around nice view of the river access to the river to canoe and seats all over and access to different restaurants if you get hungry and best my teen even enjoy it!
Bangor is slowly adding to their waterfront park.the work done so far is top quality.benches., parking and walking paths. .the fuel storage tanks r gone which is a plus . there currently doing sewer work according to the sign which is a good time to do it with concert area shut down .seems concert area is overhauling the area .be interested to see how it turns out .plenty of area to use while construction going on .
The Bangor Waterfront is a hidden gem in NE America. The walk here is peaceful and calming. The buildings that line the river near the waterfront provide for a vintage look. I took my dinner there and ate at one of the picnic tables. The breeze and the view made the food taste even better.
I love coming here early mornings too take pictures of the sunrise, And just to relax alone and think, My husband and I bring our grandkids here alot to feed the ducks under the bridge by the Sea dog, they love it. And they love coming to just walk here. Most of all they love coming here to Visit Officer Walker of the Bangor Police Department ( when he is here with his food truck ) JJs Jerk Shack!! He and His Wife!! Have become a big part of our familys Lives even if its a Little Hello!!
A great improvement to the Bangor waterfront I remember as a kid during the 70s and 80s. Lots of open space, picnic tables, a dock, parking, and even a food truck.Kudos to Bangor for making this happen.
Have you ever wondered what water looks like before it reaches the ocean? Well! Today is your lucky day! Come marvel at this natural spectacle! While your here, make sure to grab a snack at the food trucks (support local business, yall!), enjoy the art installations (is it the meaning of life, or just holes drilled into rocks? Its all about your interpretation, man. How does it make you ~feel?~), stand on the compass and blast REMs Stand (think about direction; and wonder why you havent before ).
I feel it has some busy traffic during the day.. has a nice water view if you plain on walking up through the under region of the bridge to the restaurants.. theres a Dunkin Donuts nearby thats always a plus lol
Very clean with a beautiful view of the changing leaves and the gorgeous Penobscot River
Right now the best thing about this place is where you park. Very dirty not well kept property. Just a sad part of the city.
Always a great place to go to hangout and watch the water. Yes there are times when there are crazy people around. Most of the time, this is by far one of the best places to watch the water and let Bangor live.
Great place to walk around take kids have lunch play football soccer frisbee. clean most of the time the guy with big beard in public works truck is rude picking up trash
Its a really beautiful spot, with plenty of seating, and some tasty food trucks... but Im giving it 4 stars, as it could be picked up better. I noticed a lot of cigarette butts laying around, and I was nervous my son would try to pick one up!
The city of Bangor is taking a beautiful space and giving it to the wealthy. You used to be able to see the river from Main Street but they have given it to outdoor concerts and blocked the view all year for a venue that only provides entertainment for 3 months. During corona virus it provides no entertainment, no views, and no consideration for the people.
Great place to go and just walk have a picnic or just go on a walk and enjoy fresh air.
Beautiful place to walk the river. We stopped to see what was going on there were a few food vendors...clean and nice place to walk the dogs
Just the best place to walk and have a hot coffee with a love one on a nice breezy night.
Pompeiis pizza the best and no drama it was clean this time also
Great place for a picnic with awesome river views. Amenities include bathrooms and water fountain
Nice park along the Penobscot river. Plenty of free parking. Very little shade for the hot days. Food trucks set up in the parking lot for a snack. Lots if people around lunch time.
Had nice pepperoni pizza and cup of ice cream. Fantastic!
Very pretty, especially late night/early morning when its not infested with literally every living soul in the area. Watch out for the tweakers though!
This is a great outdoor concert venue right by the river. They serve a lot of different food and beverages. The ticket prices are really decent. I just attended the two day annual Impact Music Festival July 27th and 28th. The 27th headliner band was 5 Finger Death Punch and they put on an amazing show with great sound, lots of moving lights, laser lights and a lot of pyro shooting fireballs all over the place. It was great! The 28th headliner was Godsmack. The show was also good. Evanessence opened for them as well as Killswitch Engage. I thought KSE was the best band on day 2. Personally I think this is one of the best venues in the northeast.
I had a blast here seeing Phish twice in June 2019. I liked the venue layout but was hassled by security due to my small purse. It was well within size criteria and the person checking bags refused to let me bring it in. Although I know their job is to protect us my bag did fit criteria and I felt that the pit security line took things too far. My only other constructive comment is that I think the Port-A-Potty Restrooms should not be placed on a slope, it made going to the bathroom in those stalls difficult.
Very few tweakers on our trip and no Christian preachers screaming at people.
Nice place to sit enjoy lunch break or just a nice waterfront stop to enjoy
Get lunch to go and enjoy a picnic table in the sun
It was a nice place to walk and enjoy.
Got some food from the food trucks and sat by the river for lunch. Very relaxing!
Went for the fireworks show. The show was pretty fantastic! They shut off the lights for the show along the walk. The boat docks lights stay on. The only thing I would change is not sitting next to a boat dock with the light that doesnt shut off. Otherwise the area in general is worth walking around any day.
Beautiful walk on the Penobscot River front, with Excellent restaurants nearby.
Free parking and a great spot to picnic or take a stroll
Very nice very safe
Peaceful ....nice place to walk...great lunch spot
Everything I wanted in a park on the waterfront in Bangor
Its a neat scenic place
Beautiful place to take a walk.
Beautiful day here. Nice to enjoy with the woman of my dreams
Great Venue, amazing Artists, many options for seats & prices & very friendly & helpful Staff!! Love it there!
Nice view worth the stop
Very nice place for a picnic
Great place to sit and eat, drink coffee or ppl watch!
Excellent place to enjoy a concert! Perfect size to enjoy your evening with family and friends. There are plenty of things to do prior to the concerts. There is a beautiful river walk to enjoy a stroll. Some good restaurants to enjoy as well. Hollywood slots are within walking distance. Plus Bangor Waterfront has some amazing musicians play here. I HIGHLY recommend you enjoy a concert here. You wont be disappointed!
Great venue on a beautiful summer evening!!
Not happy lateley go there with my kids and the benches are being taken up by homeless people sleeping trash needles on ground I understand they are homeless but the waterfront isnt the place for needles trash and sleeping
Full of homeless campers. Cant bring kids here anymore.
Its a nice, quiet place to go and watch people
Beautiful place to go for a walk.
Showed my car at the Wheels on the Waterfront show. The event was well run and there were more cars there than you normally get at a maine car show. The only complaint was beyond everyones control, it was dusty because it hadnt rained in quite a while! Had a great time!
We had a blast and decided we will only buy pit tickets from now on
Beautiful place to walk
I went to this venue when they frst opened. I have gone 2-3 times a year since. Each year they are improving which is imperative to success. I think they should work on bringing more various types of artists as their main focus seems to be country. Not only is this a great source of income but has been a huge economical factor to local businesses. Its a win win.
This was a great weekend!!!! Cant wait to be at the next impact festival!!! See you again next year
Nice place to walk when you just want to get away from things and relax! Always quiet and plenty of scenery to admire
Get takeout breakfest from judys rest eat down riverfront. Awsum
Fireworks were excellent this year as well as the weather
Great acoustics on the Penobscot river
Classic Bangor! Beautiful, and views of Brewer is nice
What a great place to watch the fireworks!
Nice view of Penobscot River
Beautiful ️
Its a beautiful place to have family time
Beautiful scenery and gorgeous fields. Perfect balance between a park and a small boardwalk. I love the paths they are perfectly paved for skating or other extreme activities. One of the best places to relax during the summer months. Oh! If you love Pokemon GO, so many stops and gyms! 5/5
I really like this venue and I like that the bathrooms have been updated nicely so its not just portable ones. I just wished there more security and people that were policing people for smoking in areas that they were not supposed too. They should have a designated smoking area as well. Saw too many people smoking inside the venue. Couldnt really enjoying the concert when all you could smell is the person smoking in the seat next to you.
A gorgeous place to walk around on a nice day. Perfect setting for picnics and whatever event might be going on. The concert stage is awesome and Ive been to a few shows there myself. Including the bada** Slayer and Rob Zombie x Marilyn Manson tour. Thankfully the concert has stations to fill water bottles for free as well, which is really important on some of those sweltering summer concert days.
Lady in the road turned us back for a purse a few cm too large. Got to the gate they let a woman with a suitcase size purse pass no problem. Otherwise pretty good. Lawn is more like a swamp. Glad to have a venue north of Portland though.
Employees are very helpful, but parking can be tough. Get there early and plan to spend $20 for parking (usually for a fundraiser for different organizations).
Well taken care of, great place to people watch!
What a sweet venue! Was in the Bangor area the weekend of the music festival so decided to take in a day of music. Incredible level of talent presented in the performers at the event, and a great variety music styles as well.
Saw Luke Bryan, awesome time beautiful place, but everyone had hard time to find there seat as poorly numbered
Beautiful venue for an outdoor show. You get to look out over a river while listening to great music! It was a lot smaller than I had imagined, but it was well run.Oh, and the people of Bangor and Brewer are friendly, and patient with all the tourists!
I love water.
Great place for a walk. Nice views and the sidewalk is even for those who may have disabilities or a hard time with uneven footing. Also a good place for pokemon go is that is your thing.
Beautiful walking area with plenty of sitting areas and picnic tables for a meal or just a day with friends, or of course to get on your boat for a cruise. A great area to listen to concerts as well, especially if they are sold out. PS: Now I know where a statue was moved to from downtown Bangor.
Ive been to the Bangor Waterfront a few times now mainly for the concerts and Ive never been disappointed. The line seems to always move fast despite how long it can be. Ive only ran into one problem last summer when one of the scanners was not working so getting in took longer than normal but the great show made up for the long wait to get in. We are already planning our trips up for this summers shows!
Near the river a perfect place to walk, read and their are food trucks in the spring thru the fall.
Nice spot to sit/relax/walk.
Went to the FGL and Luke Bryan concerts here this summer. Not a big fan of watching from the lawn, but did enjoy from the reserved seating. Sound quality was great, the muddy walkways not so much. Overall, a great venue for northern Maine!
We just saw Train and Goo Goo Dolls here and omg was it amazing. The sound is great, the screens are so clear and you can see them clearly from all the way back. The food and drinks are expensive, but when arent they at these events. They have good bathrooms also
Great performers every season! (Needs better bathroom accommodations)
I work here, place is amazing to work at. I love the work. The environment. And some of the people. From a workers point of view and customer point if view I think things could be a little more organized but its a nice venue. Its clean. And easy to find help
Pay the extra for a seat if you want to enjoy the actual concert. Lawn tickets are more like a big frat party. Too much drama.
Im from Vt. N I went to the Impact Festival Concert last Saturday N Sunday 7/27th & 28th for the 1st time & it was so amazing!! Where else can U pay $25 a day to go n watch 7 to 8 great bands to playing Live anywhere else? Im already planning on going back next yr. Its a great cause n value to be able 2 C so many bands play all n just 2 days time. I was looking 2 get tickets 2 C FFDP on ticket master app N than Saw they were also playing n A Festival Id nvr even heard of prior! Its a wonderful cause n bringing about 15 bands play all 2gether 4 a great way to give recogition to Suicide Awareness & Prevention!!I already do a walk Out of Darkness every yr since my cousin committed suicide n 2012. What A great cause n I really was amazed 2 C so many great amazing bands n all n 1 place @ the time n shows how much these bands truly care about humanity n have also been effected by this tragedy at some point n there own lives. Suicide effects every1 no matter who U R or where U come from!. N obviously w/ the cheap tickets cost 4 standing room only b4 the pits 4 only $25 a day theyre not coming 2 play 4 financial reasons!!..
While I love the big names that come to this venue, I dont love the seating for the big price. The general pit gets front row, while those front row seats pay a much steeper price. Its cheaper to go to another venue, get a hotel for a night, pay a similar price and get the true front row seating. Im not sure if its this way for every concert(I understand some concerts will be more depending on the entertainment) but I paid a lot less at another venue for 3rd row from center stage; I paid almost 4 times that amount in Bangor to be behind the whole pit area and the box seating/VIP section. There were a bunch of people that would also sit/stand in sections they didnt have tickets for and security didnt remove them. I frequented many concerts at the old waterfront stage and was really hoping to love the new pavilion, but I thought it was disappointing.
It was very well put together and organized. everybody from the ticket office to the seats to the gates everything everybody was kind and nice and very helpful.
It has a lovely view but not alot to offer besides scenery
Beautiful place lots of concerts in the summer and u can hear them from a ways away..
Very nice walkway along the river, plenty of public parking, even a restaurant on the water. The outdoor Bandstand is visible from the Waterfront but there was nothing happening at the time that I was there. Looks like a fun place to watch a concert though.
We saw an array of bands headed by Breaking Benjamn. We had awesome seats. Ushers to take us thru the crowds to our seats were very helpful. Good sound in the venue. Kiss is coming it will be a great show.
Not enough shaded picnic places
Love the concerts here. They never disappoint me
Just went to Chris stapletons concert a few months ago. Ive been to a couple other concerts at the Bangor waterfront, being outside vs. In a building is an awesome experience.
Beautiful waterfront with a nice flat walking path. Lots of free public parking, public bathrooms were clean and private. 3 food trucks were there and they were delicious!
Food carts are hardly ever open. Its great to have them there but I havent had a positive opportunity all summer. Theyve been closed every time I try to go.
