This is probably one of Baltimore Citys best playgrounds considering its setting within wooded acreages and other recreational amenities. I grew up right across the street from this park. When city rec centers were highly functional, funded and well-staffed in the 70s I attended the summer camp sessions at Luckman Park in between my extended stays with family in New York. During the school year, I was there every single day.....rain, sleet, snow or hail. I can recall many different first experiences in that park ranging from epic bike jumps, stiches from winter sledding mashups, seven-eleven and not inhaling. It has a very special feeling. After the parks expensive, upgraded remodel that did not include any touches to the basketball court, its no wonder that the Mt. Washington Neighborhood Improvement Association gerrymandered its physical boundary by 2 blocks to simply ursup this valuable resource several years ago. Back in the day, Luckman Park and many of the adjacent less expensive homes, and the many kids who frequented the park such as myself, where not desirable to the Mt. Washington sense of neighborhood. With my mothers recent passing, I am back in what was my childhood home which now finds itself within the newly acquired block of Mt. Washington because of its coincidental proximity to Luckman Park. I guess Ill have to attend the virtual neighborhood association meetings now as an Historian. Since returning to Baltimore after 4 years in the ATL, regardless of where Ive lived in the city, Luckman Park has been my goto playground for all three of my children....15, 10 and 3. My three year old daughter wants to go there every single day. Im like, lets go horseback riding......shes like, I want to go to the playground.
A great park for little little ones and big little ones. Weve lived watching our daughter grow from one play area for toddlers to another play area for bigger kids. Plus theres a little free library there for us to share books, or grab new ones on the way out. Theyve got swings, slides, things to climb, and more, plus tennis and basketball courts, and a pavilion for parties.
Beautiful small park, just 7mn from my place. We usually go there once or twice a month. They have a section for under 5years old and another section for 5 to 7 and also older kids.
Safe place visit
I like this park. Its nice area to have family gatherings. Plus kids can come and play there.
A great local park for kids and families. Plenty of playgrounds and swings. Full tennis courts and walking trails that encircle the park. Very safe neighborhood with a hospital not even four minutes away.
Nice park....equipment old and space unclean
Beautiful and big park! But a safety concern came to mind and wondered if the city should put a stop sign and crosswalk at the park ramp entrance to prevent accidents. As I was leaving this awesome park that I just knew I would be returning to...coming down this steep hill with my baby in stroller...it picked up speed pretty quick and all I could think was God please do not let me trip coming down this hill, for fear I could trip, slip and lose control of the stroller and it go full speed down hill into the street. People arent looking at their surroundings much when driving. A stop sign, maybe one with a solid red light could bring awareness to the park to help prevent any accidents coming down hill. And on the plus side, its a great place to workout at while entertaining my children at the same time.
Very shady park with lots of play equipment
Cute park! Great place for kids and adults! Made for a good lunch spot!

Cool spot 4 the lil ones!
I live across town but come to this park because theres lots of equipment for my kids to play on. Some of the equipment and play areas are in need of repair due to weather damage but I monitor my kids closely to ensure they dont get hurt or injured. Great place. Will come back often.
Nice playgrounds for my grandchildren, beautiful wooded setting.
Great place for kids to play and adults to relax.
Its a nice park to take the kids too
Fun new playground equipment, it also has basketball and tennis courts.
A nice safe park to take the kiddies
Small, quiet residential park with a few settings and slides. Good for little children.
Clean parks with lots of activities.
Very nice for a short park visit.
I used to love this park when I was little but now Im older it is getting way to babyish so when I go there be nothing to do and nobody to play with but it was pretty good for my first visit in AGESSSSSSSSS
Me and my two boys really had nice playing catch and chasing them around ....
Great place to take children, play basketball and tennis
Nice playground with seperate play areas for older and younger children. There are 2 baby swings which I was excited about. The neighborhood seems pleasant and there is a place where books are available to the community. The baby area has 1 winding slide and a double slide. There are sesaws and other small items for the children to enjoy.
Thank you poptronics of Russel st for testing my amp

Very nice atmosphere perfect place for lil kids
Always went there as a kid. Cutting school, woodsy, calming.. with a b-ball court.
Great park with Kinetic playground equipment (uses their energy for motion), 2 levels (for younger and older kids - the older kids get the kinetic equipment), space to run around, sidewalks for riding a scooter, and lots of trees and semi covered benches for shade.
Peaceful quiet and ducked off.
