Its very clean. The area its safe for kids and older people you will enjoy the river .

Its a nice and cold water for this heat.

Our waiter was a disappointment. It wasnt that busy had to walk to the bar to ask for another drink, we had to ask another waitress just to get our check and the food was ok. I couldve fixed better food at home but it was a great experience to spend time with a cousin that I hadnt seen in so long. My overall experience was less than stellar, it was ok.

This was my first visit here.Very peaceful and beautiful !The water is so peaceful and great for fishing and picnics.

Nice place to stop along the way even though forestry is charging $10 for a day which is why it didnt deserve 5 stars. Good mostly clean restrooms and I believe its a little cruisy here, though a lot of families come here frequently.

Really good place to visit with your family on summer the water is just right for a good swim and a great barbecue I totally recommend this place I been here multiple times and many years... we have such a great time with my family!!!

One of my favorite stops inside the canyon, especially since it marks the half way point. A quick walk down to the river is nice. Sadly, it is now a fee site ($10) and I cant say its worth it. There is trash everywhere and the reeds are so overgrowth at the river, you cant even get your feet wet anymore.

Everything close the restroom are clean, the tables are close to the restroom. No water to wash your hands. Its a small walk to the river. And it low tide so your kids cant drown.

Its a great spot to picnic for the day...be careful where you walk there are rattlesnakes...its right on the Kern River in the Kern Canyon...its a beautiful spot!

Excellent location for family outing picnicking or BBQ on the river. River bank sand like beach, tables, grills, and restroom facilities.

Happened to come onto this winding road that travels along side Kern River. Although there were more than a few picnic areas to stop at, the Upper Richbar picnic area is where we stopped.

Nice and quiet, very well upkept. Picnic tables and grills are scattered through the woods that separate the river from the parking area.The mountains around you, the treesshading you and the sound of a driver running its natural course, what more could you ask for?

Nice spot right on the banks of the Kern River. Easy to get to from the Kern River Valley Road.

We have to stop on the way home every time we go to bakersfield. The bathrooms were actually decently cleaned and the weather was nice so we brought the kids down there for some pics.

River access could be better for handicap people.
