Here in Austin downtown we have Lake lady Bird there is a hiking trail as well as a boardwalk for miles . So myself and Fancy my puppy walked from S First st.yo Zilker park at Barton Springs. Im my pics you will see people dressed in shark costumes. They were handing out hand sanitizer and dancing around . Of course wearing mask . FYI. Its Shark germ Co. Afterward we walked to Barton creekup to the spillway. Fancy loved the water always a teal color tubing, kayaking, canoes . Be earned there are usually some ladies without tops, but thats just Austin . IAlso Tuesday.nights 7 pm and Sunday nights at Barton creek is The Drum Circle, many musicians, drummers mostly the jimbae drum. Sit and play for you Free dancing and drink of course BYOB. I never want tl live anywhere but here . Oh and Florida.Have a blessed day.

Were sensitive to the homeless problem, but there has to be a better solution than using the neighborhood parks as encampments. The last time we brought our two year old here there was a stray pitbull wandering (seemed nice), people screaming obscenities at each other, garbage most places, and a camp around the bathrooms. We spend a lot of money in property taxes to live here, doesnt seem right to not be able to use the parks.

Great new spot...parking is rough! I suggest a ride share to get here, but once youre in the place was very fun, pickle ball courts are a cool idea...taco truck was decent...had pastor and lamb barabacoa both tasty.

Alas Gillis Park has, like many parks here become unsafe. This is currently a NO GO ZONE for families. It’s worth the drive to Zilker as long as it remains safe in open areas. Parents beware!

Need to get your kiddo off the local media and tv? Bring em to the park, here the tree canopy is vast, located near big Stacy public pool, an inventive parent can turn the combination of park and pool into a relatively inexpensive day of pure enjoyment that electronics just cant give! I sit with my lady as her daughter has the park to herself, living the dream!

The playscapes here are awesome! Nice trail and space for kids to run around. Bathrooms had a lot of people camped out there when we visited, but all seemed friendly.

Not exactly family-friendly. Adults were congregating around the restroom / shelter area and using inappropriate language and being aggressive with each other. I understand why the adults were hanging out there. However, leaving a comment for full disclosure to families with small children that may not be familiar with area. The play equipment looked new and the park area was large including a baseball diamond

You can’t really go there with small kids. It’s got decent playground equipment but it has been taken over by a homeless camp and there’s a lot of strange stuff going on around that park. There were a lot of big dogs running around off leash.

Nice semi-shaded park, perfect for 3-10 yr olds. Decent sized parking lot and full baseball diamond. Pool wasnt open on Sunday, but looks to be just a little smaller than Garrison Park Pool.

Review №16

Not family friendly. Lots of junkies hanging out by the restrooms engaging in various forms of anti social behavior. The playground equipment is nice and new but it made me uncomfortable to see crackheads vomiting, crapping, smoking crack and fighting with each other right in front of the kids area. It’s like a mini Ben White underpass back there.

My 2 year old had fun on the playground set here. Was nice and looked new. The one drawback were the homeless people hanging out close by. They were respectful, and I didnt realize they were homeless until the city workers left and a few odd things were still in the restroom/ maintenance building. It was a nice place to spend an hour outside

I love this park. I have been taking my children their, since my eldest now 4 learned how to walk. The only downsides is it has a heavy homeless population, which can sometimes mean items you do not want your children touching get left on the ground. For the most part however it is very clean and I have only ever had one uncomfortable incident where a homeless woman with track Marks attempted to offer my son a donut from a grocery bag. I only saw her that one incident and we immediately left after she started making comments about my then newborn.I recommend watching your children cautiously on the bridge to the big kid playscape as I have also seen a few children fall through the rope bridge.

Perfect place for the hoopers. There is some concerns with one side because the tree has some over hang but it doesn’t matter if your winning. There’s even a light for night ball. I wish more people knew about this place.

Best for large groupsMassive car park, park setup for baseball, volleyball, basketball and has a childrens play park. There is a water fountain and bbq pit, there are toilets but they looked closed when visited. Not the cleanest park but if you are into the sports above might be your cup of tea. There is above good bar across the road gs lounge of you need refreshments afterwards.

Nobody would bother to review this park, but it seems important to say a couple of things. The playground is brand new and of this writing, and has a couple of nice features like a rope wall. There is a small homeless population that mostly hangs by the picnic benches. Ive never seen any trouble, and spend a fair about of time there playing basketball.

This is a lovely experience in the beauty of childhood expression. This park offers all children and families of all sorts a serene and brightening opportunity to reflect and relax among the evolution in our ever growing society. Plenty of room for running, jumping, laughing, and playing for everyone. Dog and American friendly, its Mom tested and kid approved.
