Hiking by this active creek is such a joy! Bull Creek has a lot to look at and is a great place for an easy hike. The loop at the upper greenbelt is less than 2 miles, and you can keep walking south if thats not enough for you. Having to momentarily walk on a windy road is a little weird, but this is overall a beautiful trail with a lot to offer.
Wonderful place for hiking with friends, family and your pet. Lovely scenery and very peaceful setting.
Love the easy hike. Water gets a little low in the summer and crowds dont always clean up after themselves. But over all, plenty of cool little places to post up for a bit and let kids be kids.
It was really nice and a good place to go to think
The Bull Creek preserve is not very well known between Austinites, so hiking there is as if you are in a remote park. After rain several streams have water. From March to end of July, you need a permit to enter the park, because its a nesting period for the rare golden cheek warbler, a protected bird.
Love it here...beautiful!
Nice clean water, good for.hiking
Beautiful Place. My friends and I went when it was already starting to get cold so we didnt swim. But the scenery is absolutley stunning I love it here and will definitely be coming back soon! You dont have to pay anything, you can bring your dog, your own food and there is tables where you can eat.
Beautiful safe trails with creeks
This is a really nice park. It has good parking. It has a river that runs through it which is the main attraction. Its easy to walk through the river here. People are always in the water. A lot of nature trails.
This is specific for the north side of the park, attempting to cross the creek and get to the south side. Pros, good tree cover, very pleasant on a summer day. Leads to a nice dog friendly creek to set up shop and enjoy the day. Cons, the trail markings for the larger inga trail is poorly maintained and in some cases non-existent. Multiple groups were wandering aimlessly trying to find their way south across the creek.
Very slimy it was pretty from afar plenty of room to social distance yourself and lots of murky water
One of my favorite places in Austin. Being in touch with nature every time I come here .
Great hiking spot minutes away from Arboretum
Four of us plus one dog had a nice hike along Bull Creek and witnessed many families, and groups of adults having a great time. This was back in July or August before the drought took away most of the water. We ended our hike when we encountered a lot of Poison Oak and didn’t want to let the dog get it on his coat.
Its awesome
Great place to hike
I love this place! Almost my go to Everytime I want to go hiking or a nice walk. It has a little bit of everything in one area. You have a flat area for a nice casual walk. Horse trails. The have two areas for swimming. Jumping in is fun. Just be careful of whenever the water is low. If the water is flowing fast, it is pretty safe to jump. The have one spot that you can rock climb a little. I absolutely love this place. I cant say it enough
Dont go here, its over crowded
Neat little place to stop and see. Trails to walk on and water to get in if you want.
Spicewood springs hiking river trail reviles small caves that normally are hidden and rock formations truly art.
I love this place
It was fun and cooling in this Texas heat.
Love this spot! Waterfall always looks gorgeous and its also a great area to climb around and explore. I like to get here via the Old Spicewood Springs trailhead since its a decent length hike and also takes you by one or two other scenic spots. Waters pretty cold, though I think the temp outside was high 70s, low 80s when I went, so not too surprising. Beautiful spot, and definitely an area Ill be hitting again!
Beautiful trail.. Love the view of the hill.
Great trails and scenery.
My happy place.
This is one of my favorite parks to take my dog is Austin. The park is just beautiful and my pup loves all the water. It is pretty hidden back and there are tons of places to check out. There is great hiking and awesome spots for an afternoon picnic.
Ive been going to the Greenbelt for 30 years or more still one of my favorite places to go. I wish everybody that I enjoyed that place with the clean up after themselves and stop trashing it out
One of my absolute favorite places in Austin. Trails can be extended to many miles or shortened for a quick loop. Awesome for kids. Pets not allowed on trails.
Literally in the middle of the city is this oasis of nature. multiple trails, a creek running through and gorgeous waterfalls. Can be a little crowded during the weekends with kids and families but definitely worth it. there are multiple entries, and the ones coming from the spicewoods end are less crowded.
Fantastic place to hike with your dog. The cool stream keeps everyone cool.
Great place for a hike with the family
Amazing place to bring your dog and let them play and splash with other dogs. Fun hike too.
We find something new every time we visit. Weve taken shorter, mostly in/through water with our 4 and 7 year old grandkids. We taken leisurely walk/wades through with our small dogs. Weve also taken more strenous hikes and squeezed in to smaller spots. FYI, if you Geocache theres a really interesting site pull find on your trek.
Great hike and bike trails. During the summer time families come out to BBQ and splash in the water
My dog loves this place
Trash everywhere. Its a gorgeous spot until you look close and see how dirty it is. There are no trash cans, so its up to individuals to haul their own trash out. Evidently this is too much work for a lot of Austinites.
Fun place to go on a mini hike. Lots of water to cross over, and for the adventurous, play in.
Small shallow creek. Very nice place for playing in water.
Being from out of town, this park is than 5 minutes away from the in-laws and we ended up here because we were bored and looking for something to get us out of the house. This place is very cool, the paths, the water make it very neat to hike, bike ride or just hang out.
Its a beautiful spot! The water is a perfect temperature and alcohol is allowed.
Great hiking spot. During the summer there is almost always people in the creek, especially in a little swimming hole under 360 and Spicewood Springs Rd.
I would give it more stars but wouldnt want it to get too crowded.Anyone know the make and model of the car thats half buried down in the creek? It looks like its from the mid 50s .
Holds water through most normal years. Good dog walking and swimming.
Took my son to decorate a tree along Hwy 360. Great experience.
Beautiful Greenbelt area to take a nice hike or relax in the natural springs. Enjoy the day here with your friends, family, and your pets.
Gorgeous hike
Awesome place was surprised there wasnt very many people normally its packed great place for kids
Great hiking. Saw two non-venomous snakes.
I am going to mark this place as 1 star because I dont want other people coming here and crowding up the place. It is actually an awesome spot.
Excellent place to take young children and has some challenging trails for adults
Nice natural area of town to explore. Trail leads to natural water fall.
Great place to hike, has hills and water. Bring your dog.
Beautiful Creek definitely great for swimming in the summer
Great place but all these families need to clean up after their burnt chicken pic-nics
The park is overall pretty quiet and quite relaxing. It just smells fishy at times.
Beautiful place to hike, swim or walk the dog.
Snakes. Lots of em. I heard theres a demon that lurks there too.
The water was great, it wasnt too crowded, and its breathtaking
Such an awesome place to take pictures! Family had a blast!!
One of the best places in Austin to cool off in the creek
Excellent hiking areas here with lots of shade, hidden areas and pretty scenery. Just be sure to bring the bug spray.
Great hiking. Easy or harder routes
Great place to get out and go for a hike!
Great place to hike, swim, and relax. Other than the road noise and dangerous road to travel to access the park, it is a great location.
Part of my weekly hiking routine. Start at the northern most entrance and walk south until the trail runs out. There and back next to the river ends up being ~5 miles.
Great park, lots of trails and vert for trail running
Amazing
Nice area along Bull Creek to hike and bring your pets
Always a great place to take the dogs!
Ppl need to learn what a trash can looks like and its purpose, very dirty place what a shame
Parking sucked and so did the trail
Great spot to play with the dogs.
A haven for all things stringed.
Great Trail. Hidden gems in Austin
Beautiful
Amazing
Love this place!
Well maintained trails
Pick up your trash people
Loved the area.
Love it very cool.
