Great venue with an awesome vibe! Staff were very courteous, from the bouncers to the bartenders. Went to a show I’ve been anticipating for quite some time and I’m glad it was at Cedar Street, as it did not disappoint! Had easy access to bars, little to no wait for drinks, and ample seating to enjoy the show if you’re wanting to take a break from all that dancing on their very roomy dance floors! Would highly recommend for a concert or just a nice night out.
Honestly, what a cool venue. The sounds was great. It wasnt oversold. Everyone was chill. Plenty of individual bathrooms. I just wish the beer selection was a bit better.
Its a great venue, dont get me wrong. I always go to shows there when RealMusic Events throws something. Its 4 stars because the sound could be better (add a pair of speakers to the back maybe? - i mean by the stairs as you enter the venue). The alcohol pour is pretty weak usually but the price per drink is high. Those are my only complains really
Cool venue. Really enjoy the house music events they have there! Great vibes.
Local favorite-Spazmatics on Wednesday night. Great band. Very diversely aged crowd. Everything from the Jitter Bug to YMCA to Jesses girl to 500 miles. Very funny presentation. The crowd was hopping all night. Bars on both sides of the courtyard with ppl walking through the full length windows lining the courtyard to get in and out. $10 cover, well worth it.
So much fun. Love the Spazmatics usually every Wednesday. Cool atmosphere. Fun crowd! Strong drinks. Will be back!
The layout of the venue is awesome. Open design, keeps good airflow lol they bring in great talent
Great live music venue! Ive been in Austin several times but we just discovered this gem. Yall Out Boy was playing, its a cool pop-punk cover band and they were celebrating its 1st anniversary. We had a great time!
Quaint place for some good music. Awesome 80s music on Wednesdays with the Spazmatics. Do not miss it.
Best club in Austin. The bathrooms doors are sometimes jammed though. Be aware
Super fun and unique venue! Love the Spazmatics, definitely go see them or any live band here, 100% worth it
The service is always friendly and the staff exceptional. Not only our favorite place to frequent to hear music in this charming, and laid back venue. Last August I rented for a private surprise birthday party for my husband. Everyone was beyond words exceptionaL. The staff, bartenders, coordinator, doormen, and the owner were gracious and really helped us beyond measure to make this truly a once in a lifetime! We still love the place and make sure to tell everyone about it!!! We go every time we have opportunity and have for years and it is still our favorite place!!!
Love the idea of this place, but the dance floor is long, narrow and crowded. There is so much wasted space in the large bar area no one uses bc of the solid brick walls blocking the view and some of the music.
Consistently has the best house and trance artists thanks to Realmusic events. Great sound system and even better vibes.
Great atmosphere with high quality sound system by L-Acoustics.
Great venue, you will be exposed to the elements so be mindful of the weather.
Went here to see the Spazmatics (Wednesday night) to enjoy my favorite 80s cover band. These guys put on a hell of a show and sound just like the original artists. Great crowd and lots of positive energy here. Our cocktail waitress was very attentive as well. Cant wait to go back.
Went with my company and saw the Spazmatics! Cool venue with ample room to move around, mingle and easily grab a drink or two while seeing the show.
Had a great time at this place! Definitely recommend they have friendly helpful bartenders, great intimate stage with extra space to hang out and listen to live music!!
Amazing! The Spazmatics never disappoint!! The hot toddy we had in the blizzard of 2020 hit the spot!
Awesome place to watch a band. This time the Spazmatics. The court yard nestled between two bars was an incredible venue. Its covered so the heavy rain that came never bothered us. So much fun with a big crowd dancing the night away.
Nice establishment with courteous staff. Live music, clean restrooms and plenty of room to move around (on a Wednesday). Probably really crowded on weekends due to being so popular.
Bartenders and other staff can be rude, otherwise fine venue with reasonably priced drinks
Great music venue. We like the outdoor, yet indoor feel of the place. Drinks can get a little pricey, but youre downtown, so enjoy it.
Interesting space, with two bars on either side, and a balcony/upper level wrapping up and around the stage. We saw Yall Out Boy here and had an amazing time!! Hope they continue to feature awesome bands like YOB! the bartenders and bouncers were friendly and theres decent parking within a few blocks. Well definitely be coming back!
Went there to see Y’all Out Boy. The band was great and a totally fun time. Lone Star Tall Boys are $6 a can, which is... stupid at best, because most places have them for $5. Other drinks are expensive also. So don’t go here and plan on drinking for cheap. Considering there is a cover charge too realistically the tall boys should be $5. The acoustics could use some improvement though. At times the singers were hard to hear and being drowned out by the instruments and/or drums. Was it fun? Sure. But I wouldn’t ever go back unless if it was for Y’all Out Boy. I would suggest going somewhere else for music and (cheaper) drinks.
Great venue. Open space and great service
Pretty nice open air music venue. Plenty of bar space makes it easy to get drinks during the show. Only real problem is central Texas humidity. Would prefer it was indoors wth AC.
Too small, you end up at the back if you want some room. Bars, price and staff nice. Good sound system though.
Pretty cool venue, bit out of the way from others though.
This place has potential. The reason for my 2-star rating is due to their sound system for electronic events and DJs. I saw J.Phlip, Tale of Us, and Maceo Plex there and each time the sound was very underwhelming and disappointing. With a genre like house/techno that relies heavily on the sonic experience, a solid sound system is paramount. I dont know if its because it is an open air venue, but I would suggest analyzing the acoustics of the place and investing in the appropriate equipment. This is just my two cents because I have specifically not gone to this venue when there is a DJ I like that is in town because of the system. Otherwise, everything else is great. I like the atmosphere and the aesthetic, but the only reason I go is to experience the music of which the sound is of utmost importance.
Such a great place! The bouncer Chris and bartender Kiki are such sweet and genuinely friendly people, they made the experience super cool. The DJ for the Pleasurekraft & Chris Malinchak concert (whichever one, I can’t remember) was such a cool guy and the music was amazing. It’s music you can dance to or just relax to, a staff that wants you to have an amazing time, and a positive atmosphere. It’s a place I 100% want to come back to.
Large area to dance when an electronic show is there, which I loved to death! Didnt expect it to be so large.Bathrooms are unisex and closed off entirely giving you privacy for number one and two.Im giving it a 4 out of 5 because when I walked up to have a smoke (you have to step outside) the security guard grabbed my drink out of my hands with no statement. I was completely sober and on my first drink of the night. I turned to him and said Man, Im literally smoking and going back in. Cant you see I have a cigarette in my hand? He just held a shock expression on his face, no apology or a word. The other security guard on the other staircase called me over and said hey man, Im sorry he did that without asking. Go back down when youre done smoking and tell the bartender I told them to give you a drink because of what happened. This other security guard saved a bad review -- thanks for a great night at my first visit to Cedar!
Awesome venue to see some great electronic music DJs from around the world!
Usually has great music coming through. Drinks are pricey, but it is downtown. Love the way the venue is set up.
Fun spot. The spazmatics were a lot of fun!
This place is super cool. The architecture is interesting, I love the vines on the walls. The bartender:patron ratio is excellent so you wont have to wait long for a drink. The only downside is the acoustics. Its all angles and metal in there so the sound is super boomy. After a few drinks and with a good crew you probably wont care haha.
Great place for live events, two bar rooms on either side of the dance floor area/stage area.
Really had a great time here. The spazmatics were fantastic. The bar and bartenders were great and very friendly.
Visited from out of town and hung out for a live band. The venue is great. Bars inside and outside. Outside theres portable air conditioners all over so even if its hot outside, its easy to keep cool. Id definitely check this place out again.
Not only have i personnally been here to drink and mingle, i have thrown events here and they have been extremely professional and courteous. We will always recommend Cedar Street Courtyard.
Awesome live music for dancing and very high energy. I was there when it was quite busy and it took awhile to get our drinks. Water was available (self-service) but it was difficult to get too. If Im ever in Austin again I will definitely visit again
Fun Place. Fay the bartender is friendly, competent and made us feel like weve been coming there for years. She is the only reason Im giving 5 stars for tonights visit. Ricky the male bartender and some other man behind the bar were unfriendly and treated me like more of a bothersome than a customer. Band was awesome
Fantastic set up. Great music. Would be 5 stars if they served draft beer.
Great place in between buildings with a stage and live music, in this occasion with the Spazmatics on stage. Audience age has a broad spread, allowing everyone to enjoy it
Nice venue but in the summer it was really hot in the balcony area!! Much cooler on the floor level but it was also a lot more crowded so we settled for being warm. Great band played!
Good music and friendly staff.
Great venue, view from the top is amazing, but the sound is a bit bad from there
Great bar. The music is a ton of fun. Try to find out when the spazmatics play they are great. If your not a fan of this place you are still within walking distance of a ton of other great places too.
Great venue! Tons of fancy whiskey and always great music.
Courtyard has been nicely updated with a roof but still lets in good amounts of water getting stage & on goers soaked. Still pretty cool place!
Good music but needs more seating
Pretty cool venue hidden beneath two bars on 4th Street. they tend to throw fun music events throughout the year. The one I try to go to every year is their party during sxsw. Worth it!
Fun Place! Service was EXCELLENT!!
Great place! Live music! Retro 80s band was super fun.
Bartender sought me out to return my pack of smokes. Forever grateful as Id just undertaken a quest to get them in the first place. Had a great time.
Very cool venue, interesting setup and ambiance.Went to see Charlotte de Witte, packed house yet somewhat comfortable.Only complaint would be the sound. Due to the high ceiling, there wasnt a punch to the bass. That and they only had what it seemed like 2 speakers on each side. Couple more speakers and it should be perf
We went here for my sisters bachelorette weekend and were blown away with how well we were treated. The staff was nice, accommodating, and really helped kick our celebrating up a notch. Thanks for a great evening!
Great venue. Wednesdays are always awesome here.
The Spazmatics played, great show! Nice venue.
Great sound and bar area
Cool place, everyone needs to go there
Really cool venue, love when spazmatics and yall out boy play
Good live music, fun spot
Lots of fun, a 25 year staple in Austin, staff is courteous and nice
Nice atmosphere and acoustics for the Spazmatics (80s cover band) who play here every Wednesday.
Great venue for music or private parties. The staff very friendly and professional. I will definitely be back
Overall a pretty cool place to get drinks or watch some live music. I went on a cool day and they had overhead heaters running, since the main part of the venue is outdoors. I love the fact that its more of an alleyway between two buildings than an actual building. The two bars are both basements of the adjoining buildings. Its part of the historic Warehouse District, so its worth checking out along with a few other places in the immediate area.
Very hot during the summer, but great venue
I love going here for The Spazmatics
Does it get any better than this? Live music, beautiful courtyard, enough bar real estate (on both sides of the venue) to be able to get a drink even when the place is packed. If you havent been there on a Wednesday to see The Spazmatics cover 80s tracks then you are missing out on a perfect night it with friends, or a perfect date to cover every facet of a good night out.
I saw The Spazmatics there. Lots of fun. Not much of a local beer selection though.
Nice looking venue. there is a bar inside and then live music outside. limited tables. i thought the venue would get super packed on friday night but it ended up being a smaller crowd. people in their 30s 40s and 50s. idk if it was because of the particular band playing at the time but it seems like a laid back environment
I saw Dj Yotto. The audio was good. The view from the floor was good. I loved the balcony view behind the Dj watching everyone on the floor dancing. I recomend people to check this place out for upcoming shows.
Great place to see live music! Great vibe and atmosphere!
Great place to have some fun. Spasmatics were a blast.
Great venue 2 bars, and spazmatic was amazing.
Always great live music and a cool venue. Usually a small cover on weekends. Check out the back bar above the stage for a great view!
We had an awesome 80s band there. Bar service was prompt. Crowded and really hot. But thats Austin in summer
