Man, the pandemic has really changed the game. After getting through the ticketing dance, once seated the actual theater experience wasnt bad. The seats are a bit snug compared to Tinseltown in Pflugerville. The self serve fountain drinks are a Pricey but nice touch. If you like ear drum trembling sound and a snug seat this is the place for you.
Sound quality review....I saw TENET on the Dolby Cinema screen and while I was extremely impressed with the image quality, the sound was horrible. It was too loud, boomy, and the dialogue was mostly unintelligible. I re-watched TENET at B.Bullock in IMAX and they had everything dialed in perfectly. Too bad, b/c Ive only heard extremely good things about Dolby Cinemas, maybe something wasnt properly set up after being closed from the early pandemic days. Bottom line is that Ill definitely give this place another shot because everything else about the place seemed to be solid.
The theater was super clean and the seats were pretty comfortable. The food trays do get in the way a little though. It was my first time here and I was not aware of how to order food for the dine in. I was under the impression that it was like Flix Brewhouse or Alamo Drafthouse, but I guess not. That was the only aspect that I was disappointed with, but it is understandable due to situation with Covid and the low amount of customers. I am still not sure if that is the norm or not.
Really enjoyed myself at the AMC Dine-in new location. The new look is tremendous and the food is very delicious. The screens are also very large and show a great quality picture. Seats recline and you have tables to eat on while you’re enjoying your film! Def will be my go to movie theater for now on!!
Nice place to catch a movie!Pros:- The screens, seats, and audio all seem top notch.- Seats recline and have heaters which are nice and spacious.- Comfortable common space.- Only about 10 screens so doesnt get too crowded in the lobby.Cons:- The side table in the seats is a bit odd as it hangs over a bit.- Food was a bit pricey but not atypical of a dine in there. Will certainly return!
This theatre is one of its own, the service here was friendly, the seats however could be further apart from eachother due to the fact that you’re less than a foot away from someone which was a building problem, the food did take a while but it was good. very pricey, not worth high prices but it is worth going to get the experience.
This is one of the best theatre experiences we’ve had. We enjoy this new location so much that we signed up for the AMC A-List so we can see all the good movies coming out this year here at our local theatre. The good:The theaters have good seating arrangements. I wish there were more Dolby theaters. There is currently only one. Viewing is still solid on smaller screens. The food is good, depending on what crew is making it.The bar is a nice touch but I wish they had some promotions or motivation to get more people over to the bar. Perhaps sports TVs would help.Chance, an employee, got me a fork for my delivered food. This is literally the first time this has happened. They deliver food to you and almost never give you utensils. Thanks Chance! The bad:There are way too many kids managing this theater. I go at least once or twice a month and I frequently see a bunch of employees under 25 acting like fools and not taking the workplace seriously... this includes people cooking the food! No good imho. This also leads to a lack of care and detail with little things like the drink lid holder being broken for months now. Seriously. Months. It feels like a lack of care by management.Overall I love the theater. I wish it had better management.
Pros: Parking. Online tickets purchase. Ticket kiosk for pick up. Alcohol bar. Heated seating. Mobile app. Cons: Expensive. Overpriced menu. Small portions. Low lit areas around seating. Condiment area filthy. Food quality is not that great. You should eat before arriving. Dine-in experience is below average. Overall: Below average movie place for AMC.
The overall experience is fine; its a movie theater that plays current movies for an acceptable price in a completely renovated spot. The location is down the street from my home so it is the closest theater which is one of the two redeeming qualities: the other perk being that they have reserved, reclining seats. Here is where this location will fail miserably: There are plenty of other places to eat at a better price with better quality all around that location. Dinner and a movie will remain separate in this area until the menu prices will adjust to be competitive. A casual dining burger for $15 is still unheard of in this part of the nation. This location is also competing with two other movie theater businesses that has done very well with their dine-in experience and provides a more substantial menu and a better quality product at the same price. AMC Theatre Tech Ridge 10 will experience many growing pains in their dine-in department; it may be ridiculed and forgotten. The median income in this area will not sustain this theaters dine-in restaurant prices. On a separate note, a convenience charge to snake people to buy in to a premium account is ludicrous.
Movie theater is new and so clean and nice, compared to others in the area. I will admit that the newness and cleaness attracted me to this place. Its a dine in theater but you ordered it at the counter then they bring it to you. That part I was not really into and can imagine its a pain when its crowded and the lines are long. We went on a week night so there was little to no lines. And the wait for our food to be delivered wasnt bad. The food is quite expensive though comparatively to other theaters. A bottle of tea (non-refillable) is $4.50! A kids order of chicken tenders is $9.50, but I will admit that the tenders were better than Alamo and Moviehouse so I guess its worth it. You get your own drink but Im not one to get up during a movie to get a refill. The seats were so nice and plush and clean. They recline and also are HEATED! So exciting that took this place to the next level. The sound was very loud though during the previews almost unbearable at times. Luckily our movie wasnt as loud and/or the movie was a lighter volume one.Two tickets for an evening movie online was $28.98 and dinner was $42 so its not cheap. We will probably return in the future but we have the movieclub pass at Cinermark which is a steal so not sure how quickly we will be back.
I really like this AMC. Brand new, stand alone theater unlike the ones at Barton Creek mall and Lakeline mall. 10 screens total with a Dolby! AMC DINE-IN Tech Ridge 10 definitely beats out the one at Lakeline, and best serves viewers who live north of HWY 183, Wells Branch, and South Pflugerville. This Dine-In theater offers food and drink options not found in other Austin AMCs. AMC Tech Ridge is a great alternative to those who have previously frequented Alamo Drafthouse or Flix. They have 5 total kiosks from where you can purchase your tickets, with 2 that take cash/debit payments. They have a concession bar with 6 registers so you wont be kept waiting in line for long. There are 2 condiment stations and 3 Coke machines to handle large volumes of diners. Its also nice to see that theyve also included movie mural that overlooks the lobby. Theres a MacGuffins bar in the corner with cocktail tables for you and your friends. There are also nice outdoor patio chairs outside near the entrance for you to lounge and enjoy your time there. This location has their grand opening on Dec 12, 2019, but I personally decided to attend their soft opening the night before to watch 21 Bridges. Check it out guys, AMC DINE-IN Tech Ridge 10 is a welcomed addition to the area!
Very good place nice and clean has good food a bar if someone wants a drink only bad thing which is not to bad at all is the controls to seats but like I said all in all a good place will visit again.
A beautiful new AMC location. Definitely a must visit. All seats recline and have warmers! Food is delicious and delivered to your seat! Definitely a good change since other locations only offer the basics.Shout out to the bartender, Stephanie, she made me feel extremely welcome during the visit! Also glad to see they recruited Jimmy from the other location. Staff was extremely friendly! Ill definitely be coming back as soon as I can to see the next big movie!
Clean, easy to get in and out.Reclining leather seats that also warm up.Seats and secluded such that you cant really see the people seating behind you.Our theater was a dine in but I dont know if I would dine in because I felt like it was tight when I sat down upright. Reclining my seat felt comfortable.Enough cashier lanes for popcorn and snacks. Overall no issues.
This movie theater is very nice, And I love Dolby cinema. Although they do offer food and deliver it to your seat they are not well trained to do so Compared to other theaters that deliver food to your seat and it is hard for them to move through the seats (design problem). I would give the food of 4 out of 5. Great selections from normal theater food to dinner class. The cinema is very clean, new and modern.
Pro: Everything is gorgeous and the food is great.Con: The design of the swivel trays makes it difficult to get into the seats. Gotta dive in at an angle.Once youre in its comfy and even has seat warmers but the tray should not be blocking access to the seats at all
Brand new theater, poorly managed.Dirty BathroomsStaff not trained on how to resolve order issues. There is no way to call a waiter if you have a problem so you have to leave the movie and speak with someone.Ordered a $14 Cobb Salad and received a salad missing most of the ingredients that was a tiny side salad. Asked them to fix it and they just added lettuce and not much.Butter machines were Out of OrderCoke Machines were serve yourself but missing lids for my cupJust unkempt with lids and spilled drink on the counter.Big sign in the bathroom about using the hand dryers to save the environment and then everything they serve comes in these awkward plastic containers. Hypocrites.Never going back. Will stick with Alamo Draft House.
The new theater is simply outstanding. Sound and picture are superb and the seating is very comfortable. I would like to give 5 stars, however the staff is in very little hurry to help customers... Which is rather a great disappointment considering their offering as a Dine-in service.
A friend and I went for the first time today and it was a wonderful experience! The staff was very nice and helpful. Beautiful theater! The heated reclining seats, beautiful picture and sound. Only negative is you have to wait a long time in line for food. The staff were moving the lines as fast as they could though. This will be my new go to theater for sure! Great job AMC!
Beautiful new theater with recliner seats in a convenient location. Appreciated having reserved seating option and ticket price was reasonable. If you want food/drink you have to order at the counter before the movie. Alcohol is available but at a separate bar so I had to wait in two lines. Concessions seem extra pricey though, which I guess is their business model. They also by default assume you want the bigger sizes - you have to clearly ask for the smaller sizes. Overall the convenience of the location will be what brings me back again because I want to support businesses in this area so its not a ghost town shopping center.
Went to see Invisible Man on 3/1/2020. The sound was distorted during the previews. Myself and 2 other people went and mentioned it to staff outside. They assured us it would get fixed. 30 minutes into the movie and still nothing. Again mentioned it to staff and they said nothing can be done once the movie starts..... No attempts to fix the issue or even offer a refund. Guess Ill be sticking to Alamo Draft House.
This theater is not for plus size individuals. The sits are so small and have un removal trays.
Read this whole review. We came in for a Friday night movie. Ordered a simple meal for two for a grand total of $37.They didn’t get our food out by the end of the movie. That’s like a 2hr wait... with no food. After the movie we went to customer service - there was a line of people like us... people that ordered that ordered food and never got it, or received it cold.Thankfully, the manager was super understanding and was handing out refunds (and free popcorn / candy) to everyone affected.Soooooo it seems like this may have been a fluke?Everything not related to the food was fine. Nice recliners, slightly dirty grounds, good movie.
Definitely a fantastic addition this part of the town. It is state of the art, new and the screen sizes are massive. Think IMAX size screens for Dolby which is fantastic. My first movie was Jumanji Next Level here in Dolby and its 10 point precision audio system didn’t disappoint me. I would highly recommend this AMC location over Lakeline. My two favorites in town to use my A list are Barton Creek and Tech Ridge. The dine-in option is great but remember this is a order a dine-in. It isn’t the Alamo or movie house style order at seat kind of a thing. But nonetheless, I’m pretty happy to get this nearby my house. The parking is ample and it has easy access from I35. Definitely check it out, the quality of the screen and food options won’t disappoint. It opened on Dec 12th is what I heard.
Was no hot in the theater! I usually associate lack of A/C at a theater with a dollar theater. You figure there, well, I only paid a dollar. But I paid $90 for my family of 5 to go to a movie and I was sweating. I told employees on 4 different occasions during the movie and it did not improve. After the movie I asked for the manager, he apologized and said that he had heard it was hot in there and that he adjusted the temperature but that it takes a while for it to actually take affect.I also paid $14 for a Western Burger. I finished it, but I can get a better a burger at fast food.
The movie experience itself was amazing but the customer service was horrible. We arrived in line for concessions and were next when the premier line filled up with people who had just walked in. There were only 2 cashiers working and one had already been taking premier customers. The other cashier became free and started calling from the premier line. We asked if anyone would be helping us as we were there first and the cashier stated that they are required to take people from the premier line first. We decided to go in and see the movie with out snacks and beverages as we would have missed part of the movie had we waited on the premier customers being served ahead of us. If this is the process at AMC, they should have more than two cashiers working so that regular people get equal service. Although the movie was great we will not be returning.
Staff is still getting used to their jobs and where everything is but the dynamics of the theater were great! Sound was great and the place was very clean. Prices were a bit higher than normal but the quality of the place evens it all out. Screen were clear and good quality. Very good job.
Nice theatre but watchout for the insane parking lot car club antics when leaving
Ticket prices are normal. Food is way over priced, especially for what you get. Everything is in disposable containers, possibly adding to the price of the food. You want a single draft beer, going to be over $10.They recently opened, so they have no servers yet, you must order food at the concession stand. However, they do bring the food to you at your seat. Not all the food options on their website for this location are available yet.The recliners are comfortable, power recline and heated. However, most will be sharing armrests with a neighbor.Your money and experience will be much better visiting either The Movie House or a Alamo Drafthouse.
The alcoholic drinks tasted good but slightly overpriced. If you choose to eat here, the food had good taste but like the drinks I feel like a few dollars could be shaved off the price. However The seats were very clean & comfortable! The restrooms were also very clean & easy to find. I will return in the future but i probably wont be buying any food or drinks other than popcorn & a Coke.
The Good:1) Heated recliners that recline far.2) Excellent picture quality and sound.3) Dine-in service4) Theres a bar5) Freestyle drink machinesThe Ba...not so good:1) No call button. If your order arrives and its wrong or they forgot an item, you have to leave the theater, go to the front and state your case. You just missed 10+ minutes of your movie2) if you have to leave to correct an order and youve shown your receipt as proof, they still ask to show your ticket as proof...the receipt IS PROOF!!3) The mens bathroom I went into had only 2 urinals and 1 toilet. Theres 10 theaters and only 1 toilet?
Perfect! Felt totally safe. Social distancing was in place.
The place is brand new so is clean and fresh looking. The larger bathrooms should have been down the halls by the theatres, not up front in the lobby - just a preference. The place they missed the mark is the wall meeting the footrest when the seats are reclined. This doesnt allow for walking past others without disturbing their movie, as well as the ones behind them whilst you wait for the first one to sit up. Nothing really bad, just an oversized. The other movie house allows for walking past, without that disturbance. As usual, the soda and popcorn prices are outrageous, bit Im not rating that....just the chair/wall. Will go again.
I’m only giving this theater a 1 start because it was clean and smelled wonderful. Other than that, my husband and I were so disappointed. We looked forward to visiting this theater often since it’s right down the road from us. However, the service is lacking - staff have not been trained properly. The food is horrible and overpriced. The reclining seats... whoever designed these seats did not take into consideration that adults would be sitting in them. They are small and uncomfortable. Sadly, we won’t be returning.
Nice theatre... seats are a bit narrow and the tray used for food is too small. Makes is difficult to maneuver if you need to adjust yourself. Food a bit on the high end side. For the proce portions should be just a little more. Overall enjoyable place to go.
Ive never rated one star before. For our first time here we purchased tickets to a movie for Valentines Day. Planned to eat dinner during our movie. Stood in line, ordered food, only got our drinks. Said they would bring everything else to the seats, even the popcorn.Halfway through the movie still NOTHING. Finally, about 2min before the movie was OVER and movie credits rolling they have 2 people in the theater cold food. We ended up hungry and having to find somewhere else to eat a (now very late) Valentines Day dinner. Then, to add insult to injury, instead of a manager or someone coming out and making an announcement to the whole theater or maybe apologizing for getting NO ONE food, they had us all guess which guest services line to stand in for another 20min for a refund.Never again. At least we ended up getting twice the amount of great food at the same price at a different resturant after.
Great Movie Theater! Had great sound and the seats reclined and even were heated if you wanted it!
A nice clean and very comfortable place. thanks
Every theater at this new AMC has laser projection and edge-to-edge screens, so youll get brighter and more vivid picture compared to most screens in Austin. But there’s a big trade-off: this AMC does not mask projections, which means you’ll see letterboxing on most releases instead of sharp edges. That’s a real bummer, and it’s super distracting when the projected picture is a bit rounded.Seats are super comfy and the heat, although a bit gimmicky, is quite relaxing. The dine-in concept is no Alamo killer; order at the counter and theyll bring (mostly unhealthy) food to your seat, but no orders at the seat. Ample outdoor parking, clean bathrooms and a brand spankin new Dolby Cinema theatre make this a welcome addition to North Austin, if you can get over the letterboxing.
Been here two times. The first time, the experience was okay. They had just opened but they didn’t have tables or chairs in the waiting area but the theatre was pretty nice. The second time, we accidentally bought tickets for the wrong AMC and the reps said they were not able to help us. As I understand that perhaps that may be the policy, I felt completely dismissed. Besides that, place is still not fully furnished even though it’s been over 1 month that they opened. Other than the rep at guest services who was somewhat rude, everyone else is nice and pleasant.
I am extremely disappointed. The quality of the movie I saw was like it had been recorded on a cellphone. There was an echo when they talked but when songs came on the audio returned to normal. We spent 20 minutes ordering food and there wasn’t a line. Just an employee that didn’t know how to work the cash register. We order fried mozzarella at the beginning and when she repeated back to us she didn’t repeat it come to find out at 5PM they were sold out. We spent $50 for 3 adults and a baby only to get to our seats and find my baby can sit comfortably but us adults couldn’t fit in the seats. $100 for food for 3 people only to be delivered in to go containers with soggy fries and the tops of our hamburger buns covered in grease or something else that made them soggy too. And we didn’t get our drinks at the counter after ordering because the cashier forgot. We will not go back. It was a complete waste of money, and time.
Been an AMC stubs member for a year and was excited to get another theatre in Austin. Plenty of parking (for now), really nice and clean theatre. Food is a little expensive since it is still chain movie theatre pricing but the seats are still good and you get your own little table opposed to the Alamo setting reaching in front of you. Welcomed addition to the area will be visiting more
An absolutely brand new theater when I stopped in for a show. In keeping with that fact, it offers the best in recliner seating, as well as dine-in food and drinks. The Sound and production values were excellent, and the whole facility is first rate.
Nice theater, great food, great service. BUT The use of single-use plastics is out of control. Is AMC even aware of climate change and plastic pollution? Pretty sad to a company conduct business so irresponsibly. Huge plastic lids over the food? Why? Restaurants dont cover your food when they bring it out. Also they attempted to have a recycle bin but they arent being used because they arent clearly marked.. not that recycling is effective anyway. Alamo uses reusable dishes.. you can too. Do better AMC.
Brand new theater with full menu and reclining seats.
New, nice seats, and great sound. The staff doesnt know about A-list features. Guess its only good for 3 movies a week here. Management needs to train better. The popcorn is very salty.
Absolutely great experience here. When I heard there was a Dolby theater I knew I had to check it out. This place just opened so everything is fresh and new. Anyone with the slightest care for quality audio/video needs to watch a movie at the dolby theater to see what good quality audio/video is like. Five stars for this place definitely.
This was an awful experience. The tickets were more expensive than they should have been - $18 each PLUS a $5 convenience feeLobbys temp was in the high 80s. We were sweating before we could even order food. The show Id bought tickets for wasnt even on the board, yet other showings which had already started were, resulting in me having to ask a manager to verify it wasnt canceled.Bar selection was truly awful and ridiculously overpriced.Water cups were laughably small. My first food selection was sold out, but the animated board overhead still shilled it - connect your inventory to your sales displays.Food was delivered cold, and with no condiments.Replacement food was badly burnt. Both the burger and fries were charred. Other than the char, the quality fell behind mcdonalds, but at double the price.Theater seats were extremely uncomfortable, with what looks like lumbar support placed at the crux of the seat where it forced the body into a painful curve. This was not adjustable. See photo.Screen wash lights were left on until after the movie started, making it hard to actually see the screen during previews. See photo.Projector seemed to be running an unsharp mask, and its gamma was off, resulting in the image being both washed out, no details in the darks, too bright, and too grainy all at the same time. This was exacerbated by the screen itself having a visible grainey texture.Audio curve had a nasty 0.75q peak at around 2300Hz. Result was that the system sounded closed off and bright instead of open and airey. Sound proofing was problematic, as I could hear the other theaters from my seat. This was honestly my worst movie experience in over a decade.
Was unimpressed, will go back to the Alamo Drafthouse. Have to order the food upfront. Food sucks. No way to order follow up items during the movie. Also, the parking lot is completely exposed. My car and 3 - 5 other cars were broken into and had valuables stolen. This is what I had waiting for me after watching the movie here.Go elsewhere. I will never come back.
All hype. Theatre is nice but the workers not so much. I asked the lady to put the chicken on the side of our nachos. She said it wasn’t possible for her to tell them and refused to do that. Ridiculous. Better off going to Alamo draft house or brew house for a dining experience
Watched Jumanji and Bad Boys 2 here in the Dolby Theatre. Sound was amazing and seats were very comfortable. Wish the tray for your food was a tiny bit bigger to comfortably fit everything. Took a star off because I got the wrong burger delivered to me and had to walk from Row J ( the very top one) all the way down to find a server to correct it. They were very apologetic and quickly remedied the situation. Food is very expensive but I will still return to this location.
I enjoyed myself at the new AMC. The food was unexpectedly good. Love the fact the drinks are do it yourself. Love that the seats are heated. Especially since Im always cold. The sound was perfection. Ive visited 2 times already. Im actually going today for another movie! The staff was friendly n kind. Keep up the great service. Excellent location area to, very convenient.
Nice to have another movie theater North. You will need to arrive at least 30 minutes before your movie begins if you are going to order food. Seats are very comfortable.
Great place for a movie and dinner. Seats are comfortable and heated. The pizzas are good. They could have more variety on foods.
The theater and seats were good. But most theaters offer recline/heated seating with the reserve your seat option so I wasn’t impressed. The food, service and value for money missed the mark completely. What we ordered, cost nearly 40% more than what we get at Flix Brewhouse and tasted like bad, cold carnival food. Chicken tenders for $17. Never again. The our order took 40 minutes to come out. Disappointing. Our friends’ food order took 70 minutes to be delivered, and was dropped on them and floor; they waited another 25-30 minutes to eat.
Expensive and slow. Took over an hour to get our food and it was sub par. Wont be wasting my.money here again.
Best theatre in town! I’ve been here twice. Both times I experienced interacting with really nice employees and a very clean facility. Although a little close to each other, the seats are incredibly comfortable.
Best movie of the pandemic, would watch again!
I really like this new theater, but it will soon start to show signs of wear. I go early and sometimes late, so Ive seen the theater in different states. I dont think that they have the cleaning down in the common areas. The actual theater doors all have this horrible squeak and they dont have many tables and chairs in the common area. Overall still the best choice in the area. Tinseltown is 2nd.
Finally got to check out this new theater. All the staff was friendly and the seats are very comfortable. I dont think Ill be ordering food from there again. My chicken sandwich was cold, as if it had been sitting for a while.
Just went here on a date and had a great experience. Food is a bit pricey but it was good. My husband bought the Bacon Ranch burger with fries ($14) and it was really good. The place was clean and employees were nice. Paid $16 for a large popcorn and large drink combo but you can refill your drink/slushie. The drink machines are out not behind the counter and you get the refill yourself. Im guessing its unlimited refills. But not 100% sure. Seats were VERY comfortable. You order your food up front and they bring it to you. Menu had a good variety of dishes. The surround sound in the theatre was amazing. Great experience overall. Were definitely going back!
Came tonight for our first visit and really enjoyed it! I was worried with it being the first week that things would be disorganized or what have you, but it all went smoothly. Every employee we encountered was very friendly and the place was nice and new. We didnt eat or drink, so just reviewing the movie going experience - and it was totally a thumbs up!One odd thing though, in the bar area, the majority of the tables are very low - like mid-shin height. We couldnt figure out what the point of these were... We considered staying after the movie to have a drink, but were too confused by the tables - ha ha. The bar area is a bit off the mark and not inviting but oh well.
Awesome love the social distancing setup
Too expensive. Food not good for any money. $28 for 2 tickets and $48 including $1 delivery fee for 2 meals. First time. Wanted to check it out. That will be the only time. Btw, we saw The Gentlemen, which we did like. Just not the $4 fee to buy tickets online. Lousy experience all around as the Ginger Ale was flat.
Reserved seating is nice, recliners were comfortable, but smaller. Food is only ordered at front concession which is different. Just know you can eat in the theater but there is NOT seat/ table service in the theater. Otherwise, a perfectly fine movie experience.
Saw my first movie there this past Sunday. This place is brand new and roomie, full kitchen and bar. Seats were amazing, full recline, heat and leather type(not sure probably synthetic) upholstery. Sound and movie quality was 100%, so glad they put this so close to my house. Love it.
Love the surround sound and the theater screen look like they are running on 4k, worth the price for tickets..I am one happy customer!
Another great experience here. The atmosphere was busy, employees all over helping everyone with their questions. The sweetest young lady (Darianne) was extremely helpful and polite. Its so refreshing to see young people now days with a great smile and attitude. OMG! I forgot, grandma LOVED the seat warmers! we will be coming back. Some kinks to work out, but that is expected with any new establishment.
I read good reviews on the sound of this place but unfortunately while our movie was showing there was a loud sports car meet up going on in the parking lot and you can hear cars revving their engines over the sound of the movie as well as making parking difficult and smelling burnt rubber.... the bathrooms were disgusting, the bar and concession staff were aloof, the parking lot felt unsafe. Had to leave the movie to reorder drinks and it took a while to get back in theater. The seats were comfy. Would rather go to Alamo.
I just had to walk out of a children’s movie with my son as it was ear piercing loud. We asked if this was normal for the theatre and both a host and manager said the previews are very loud but the movie should be better - however it was not. I was not alone in this, as a couple kids and parents around me made comments about the volume as well as had to cover their ears. They did provide a refund, and the theatre itself it very nice and clean, but be aware the dolbie theatre is obscenely loud.
Loved the heated seats!! Theyre really comfy and the screen is the biggest one Ive seen. Will definitely come back.
Super premium experience at a premium price. It costs about $30 for two adults for online tickets to shows here. Entree prices are similarly priced, $15+.The assigned seats all recline and have heating controls.Staff are helpful and polite, though they seem understaffed right now. If a theater has a spill or a bunch of people who make mess, the extra time it takes to clean it up cascades because they dont have enough extra hands to pitch in to make up the difference, and you might not be able to enter your theater until the previews are almost over.
This was opened recently and the Dolby is great!
Dont go here. They should just let you bring your own food. One size Icee for 7 bucks. My scotch was the same price but came with a buzz.
So I really wanted to like this place - it has its positives and negatives which is why it gets 3 stars.Positives - The Dolby Cinema screen and surround sound is superb. I also liked the self-serve soda machines. You also have the ability to order dine in food with a bar and the overall theater is very clean and well laid out.Negatives - You have to order the food at the concession stands vs at your seat like most other dine in theaters (Alamo, Brewhouse, etc), the quality of the food was just OK, matinee prices are quite high for adults $15 per person, the seats were not as comfortable as I wanted - for example you can’t fully extend your legs so they are stuck at an awkward 45’ bend the whole time, and we also had issues with not getting our full food order despite following up 3 times. At this price I expect top notch service and amenities and didn’t feel like I was getting a good value. I’d rather spend my money elsewhere.
It seems that AMC only noted the benefit of being able to eat meals and drink alcohol in a dine-in movie theatre and nothing else. When we first walked in we were given a paper menu and told to place our order for food at the front. So we did. The person that took our order did not ask us if we were seeing a movie and did not give us any direction. We had to ask the person handing out the menus on how our order would be handled. So what was supposed to happen was the person taking our order should have asked for our movie time and seat numbers so they can bring it to us.After we ordered the overpriced food and ordered our drinks, we went to sit down. The reclining seats were very comfortable and there was a lot of leg room. The seat warmer is a nice touch. Each seat has a very small table that is about the size of a college desk, if not smaller. The door to our showing was in desperate need of some oil or WD-40. It squeaked through the whole movie and was very distracting. Our food came out timely. I got the Western BBQ burger which was good, no complaints. The fries were great. The nachos that my wife got was a decent size, but some of the chips were stale. The little desks were just barely big enough to hold our food. We did not have any room to place the popcorn so we put it on the arm rests between us.If you needed to order anything while the movie was going on you would have to go back out to the front desk to order. There is no way to place an order at your seat like most other dine-in movie theaters.I give this place two stars only because the recliner is comfortable and the sound system is very good. Otherwise, this AMC is only worthy of 1 star.TLDR: The seats were comfy. Ordering food and drinks is clumsy and feels like it was an afterthought. The premium price is not worth it. I felt robbed after spending $90 on 2 movie tickets, 2 alcoholic drinks, 2 entrees, and a small popcorn. I will not come back.
Our service was amazing. Any new business opening up will have obstacles to hurdle over. It was refreshing watching management solve those issues with a nice friendly smile and a positive attitude. One young girl was handling a very rude person with s friendly smile. I probably would not have been as nice if I had to handle them. This theatre is by no means a brewhouse and it should not even be held into comparison.
The theater is pretty good with reclining and heated seats. Food is over priced. But its exaggerated theater pricing, so thats expected. They deliver the food for a $1 delivery charge. Which is nice if thats what you want. They will claim that they are required to deliver and force the $1 charge. That may be coming from management to require delivery or poor training. But you are not required to have the food delivered and can pick up at the counter. I had to have a manager come over to fix my order so I can wait to pick up instead. I had time. The cashier claimed there was no way to have it void delivery. All the manager did after I complained, is set the order for take out! He had to look for the option too, so it was obvious they dont offer pickup often. So unless you prefer delivery for the $1 charge, you can request to pickup. Delivery is not required as they may claim.
Everything is bright and new, lobby and theater very nice, but staff is very slow, so bring your patience. Love the coca cola freestyle machines, but was disappointed by the food. My pretzel bites didnt take too long to be delivered, but they were lukewarm and so hard and stale! I ate 1/2 of two pieces before I gave up on biting through the extra crunchiness and chewing though the staleness.
What a disappointment. $80 for 2 burgers w/fries and a flatbread pizza... Thats not including the movie ticket prices. You have to go order your food and drinks at separate counters that they deliver to you later. The beers/drinks were $11 each. Not to mention the theater wasnt cleaned well with popcorn and wrappers in our seats. For the prices I expect so much more. What a rip off. Lesson learned... Never again.
Very disappointed, first time A-lister and I didnt get treated like one. Ordered 3 hot dogs for me and the kids simple items, never made it to be delivered. To follow up on the issue I waited from one line to another, missed majority of the movie. I understand its new but its big enough franchise to be better managed otherwise close it down. Barton Creek location is a lot better. Dont recommend this location until it gets an uplift on workflow. Very disappointed.
Food is too expensive for the quality. I.e. the chicken tenders almost seemed raw and breading was not fully cooked. The appetizer that has fried mozzarella had a lot of fried breading and little, if not any cheese. Fried sticks is what we got.The seats are snug and the heat kept turning off on my seat. It seems that management is really young and inexperienced. Please do not expect Alamo Drafthouse experience. There are no call lights. Orders must be placed before the movie begins and will be brought to your seat for $1.00. Auto break-ins happen so do not leave any valuables in vehicle.
I would give this place a 2.5 due to 4 things.1.It’s not fluffy friendly, seats are not big boy comfortable. It’s really narrow and design for skinny people.2.The prices on the food are extremely high (2 burgers with fries and two regular drinks) is about $50.3. The trays on your seat to dine in is way to small. The one at the Galaxy Highland is so much bigger and it’s not meant to be used as a dine in tray.4. Food came out cold!!!All in all the design of the place is awesome to look at but to actually enjoy is very low.
Brand new location so of course everything is still nice and sparkly. There is another location closer to where I live that doesnt have an actual dining option so this is a bit of a game changer. The heated seats is a plus as well.
I been waiting for this place to open. Just saw Doctor Doolittle, it was a nice story. The sets here are a little small but the do recline. And if you get a little cold, use the seat warmer. There is a table for ever chair but it get in the way a bit sitting down in a small seat. It fits the drink and popcorn well, will update next time when I order dinner.
Food was ok. The fact that I had to order at the front and couldnt order from my seat was annoying. We would have ordered more beer if we could do it from the seat and not get up and miss part of the movie. The sound was too high. Seats were nice with the electric reclining
The Dolby theater is amazing... great sound, great picture, and very comfortable chairs. The food that I tried was super good but in all fairness, I only tried the pretzel bites. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because it seemed like the staff is still fairly confused. The bar wasnt open and nobody seemed to know why, or when it would be open again. However, the theater just opened so Im sure there is a bit of a learning curve involved with opening a new location. I would still definitely recommend this theater to anybody who really wants to watch a movie and doesnt care as much about service to your seat, or having a waiter come take your order at your seat like us Austinites have become accustomed to at theaters like the Alamo Draft House.
$10 for a beer and $15 for a burger?! Hopdoddy prices for fast food quality--skip eating here! The chairs are nice, though.
Good seats. Good movie experience. The dine in isn’t nearly as good as Alamo Drafthouse though.Good theater, just don’t expect a Drafthouse experience.
This theater has the best audio Ive ever been to from any movie theater to date. Absolutely worth the price, however the food which was highly promoted going in was OK. The popcorn was attrocious, It had so much salt it made my lip split from just a few bites. Everyone around me was complaining about how bad the popcorn was. After the movie, every seat had almost full containers of popcorn. Zero quality control on the quality of food being made. The interior is beautiful but theres no where to sit in the lobby. Theres tables at the bar that are like 2 feet off the ground with no where to sit. Honestly if there was seating I could see their bar be something great. But, it just seemed like someone dropped the ball on furniture for opening week.Pros : Dolby setup is out of this world! Itll blow you away!Cons : Food quality and lobby / bar furniture need improvements.
Were extremely loyal to The Alamo Drafthouse and Flex, so we wanted to Branch out a bit. Mistake. The food, is indeed, ridiculously expensive. We paid close to $70.00 for 3 people. The soda section was unkept with popcorn and soda spillage on the counters. Well, maybe the reclining seats will save the day. No. One of the recliners was rickety and didnt recline all the way back. Its too bad. Its a new place, too and its already falling apart. Were sticking with The Alamo.
Love that we can select our seats ahead of time and that they recline and are heated. The food is good and its nice that its delivered but it gets pricey.
Movies are great, love the heated seats, food is way over priced by ALoT.......OHhHh And Or car was one of 13-15 that got broken into last night. For as new and nice as it is. Think some type of security/cameras would of been helpful/great. Management wasnt helpful.
Great venue. Excellent seats, they are reclining AND heated! My only gripe is when you enter, you have to stand in a VERY slow moving line to order your food ahead of time, which is very expressive for what you get. I ordered nachos, which they charge me $16 for. My wife ordered a salad which they charged me $17 for. My son ordered a hamburger and french fries which they charged me $19 for. All said and done, we were in for $120. For us, I foresee a lot more staying at home, ordering a pizza and streaming the new releases in the comfort of my own home. I will likely never return to this theater due to the excessive price gouging. For far less $$$, we could have just gone to Flix Brewhouse or Alamo Drafthouse for an identical experience. This AMC is quite nice but the exorbitant prices will keep me away.
Great seating and viewing experience, food is a little pricey but good
Clean with friendly service. No complaints.
For the price it was not worth it. Food is gross, the sodas are not good they use a vending machine like for drinks those suck. I would not recommend at all. Also the employees are not friendly.
This theater is amazing. Love the chairs alot more comfortable. I would recommend this theater than the Tinseltown
Nice new theater but I thought dine in was going to be where you order from your seat like flix or Alamo. I didnt realize we had to stand in line when we got there to order. We almost missed the beginning of the movie.
