The Fallout Theater was one of the first places I visited after moving here and it quickly became one of my regular hang outs. I’ve seen many shows here and have taken some classes as well. Great comedic staple in town with a strong community. Have met some great people and have had a lot of good laughs here. Sure Thing and Sweet Lightning never disappoint! Be sure to buy tickets online ahead of time as many of their shows sell out, but you still have a shot of getting seats if you go early before a show and put yourself on the wait list.Love that it’s BYOB on many of the week nights (when the bar isn’t open). Excited to take a few more classes there soon!
Unique! Fun! BYOB!First time in Austin, stumbled on this comedy spot. We loved the dive-y vibe, fun crowd, non-traditional skits. They’ve got some snacks for purchase, you bring your own booze (people showed up with coolers— they’re not kidding about the BYOB vibe)!Tourists and locals like... support local artists, and a local business: Must visit spot in Austin.
Great shows. I always have a blast when Im there. The classes are great and the community is super welcoming. Its definitely one of the most hilarious places in Austin.
We went last night. Their people try really hard to make you laugh, but honestly, it wasnt very funny. This venue was also very hot. We were uncomfortable the whole time, they really need to turn on the air conditioner. Its a very small performance area, so you sit very close to others in rows, so that didnt help. We were with great friends so we enjoyed being together, but will I go back, probably not. I do wish them the best and dont like writing a review thats not very good, but just like to let people know.
Im sad to give Fallout a low rating, because in theory its something I should love. Im all for giving emerging talent a space to grow and thrive. I just wish amateur shows were billed as such. My fiance and I dropped in to see Sure Thing on a Friday night and were underwhelmed — the comics just werent funny or relatable. We chuckled a few times. But I left feeling a bit depressed and more than a little dirty. Maybe it was an off night? Or maybe my expectations would have been different if it were advertised differently? Either way, we probably wont be returning.
The venue is very nice, but Im giving 3 stars because the show we saw, the Fox News group, was, in our opinion, not very good. We were pretty much just pity-laughing for them, and thats not a very good time.Humorous political commentary is best left to the professionals.
Some good, hearty, underground comedy.
By far the most fun I’ve had in Austin. Laughed the whole time and everyone there was extremely friendly and made us feel at home. All of the performers were fantastic and the atmosphere was great.
Great comedy in a chill location. Their MC is always full of energy and gives it away so effortlessly. It is a pleasure to watch their Monday night shows!
Pretty good! We went to see Rob G performance. Some of the intro comedians were not good and you could tell they had some issues they needed to sort out personally. But Rob was great! Also, the balancing brothers was so funny and awkward at the same time! You need to see them perform! The place is small and quaint. Its BYOB, which is nice. But the place isnt anything fancy, which is fine for a comedy club
Original shows and really funny people!
Great cozy place for everyday comedy.
Love the Do Good Comedy shows that they host once a month! Can I think of anything better than donating to charity and laughing my ass off/playing videogames?I definitely will be returning for some of their other shows because if this is the sort of talent they book, then I know this place is great! I give it 5 hearty chuckles! The location is really fun too, it is such a small secretive little spot in the heart of downtown.
Hilarious Improv, great shows all around. I try to come here at least once a week, and it is never boring. This small intimate theatre puts you up close and into the action creating an immersive comedy experience.
Worst customer service ever! This place deserves 0 stars! Drove all the way out from Houston to come see the show. Lindsey Cracker told me, Were sold out. Which I told her I got the tickets 3 weeks ahead of time for my husbands birthday as a surprise. But she decided to sell my tickets to other people. So I asked if they will be generous to place two seats so we can watch the show yet they denied it even after explaining why it was important to watch this show. But yet again they were rude about the situation being careless; so I asked for a refund as well wanting to get the managers contact information which they denied it. Yet how are his employees contacted to come to work? So they tell me he doesnt have a phone number or business card that he can only be reached through Facebook; which I asked if I can have it and they denied it again. They tried calling the cops because they wanted us to leave with no source of manager contact. So my husband started to record for proof of evidence of the conversation and thats when they tried to get a manager in contact. Which never happened. Worst place to go! Theyre in denial for what they did wrong.
After being told that they are no longer byob I quietley gave up my bottle of whiskey to check in. After their brilliant show my friends and I ran outside. I forgot to check out my bottle. Ive been calling for 3 days and havent had a call back. So guys from New Movement please reach out to me.
I did the level 1 improv class and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to become more confident in front of people. I did Toastmasters for a year to improve my public speaking and found an 8 week improv class to be just as effective, if not more. Nathan Ehrmann is a very talented teacher. His style and structure bring the best out of any beginner. Another perk of being a student is you get to attend shows for free!
Ive caught a handful of shows at The New Movement at this point and each has been a good time. Standup, improv, sketch - its all been very funny and just a good place to catch a show at and support. The BYOB is definitely a nice element as well, catch a show sometime!
Full disclosure, Ive done some work with these guys in the past (back when they were in the old building) but I say without bias that this is a great place to come to see some killer comedy and feel like part of the family.
Great place to catch a show, very chill atmosphere (BYOB). Come out and support the local comedy scene, yall!
So much fun! Super funny
Free and funny comedy, what more do you need? The improv is great!
So Good
Most awesome!!!!
Great evening, thanks!
