A well kept 18 hole city course with reasonable rates. Greens and fairways were in good shape. The only downside is that they allow walking on the weekend which can slow down the pace. They have a practice putting green but dont have a driving range.

You never want to play at Chastain Park(North Fulton) Golf Course when it might rain.You must pay more even you get a Raincheck.Originally paid for 3 and when came back. The starter had no information and ask to pay full fares. After advising we had the Rainchecks, asked to prove them. After showing my iPhone email, told to pay for additional fee for each player.We had to pay two cart fees and some cents for a walker.The course is not bad, but the system charges too much when you get the weather issues.So cancel if you may have the weather issues, don’t even go to the course.

I was able to book a single (walking) tee time at 7:12 this morning, so several things worked well. I was one of the first ones there so no problem with parking and we were the first tee time so we set the pace. I did 3 hours and got out before it got blistering hot for the day. This is a municipal course so while not in the neat shape it was good and had some very testy holes. To sum it up - quick round, close to home on an okay course - all good.

Course is in good shape. The greens were quick. The pace of play enabled a 3 1/2 hour round. Friendly ambassadors. Pro shop staff took great care of us seniors.

I carry a 5.7 handicap index. This is a challenging course with good greens (albeit small) and its run by fantastic people. Oh, and its BYOB (no liquor license).

The greens are beautiful. The pro shop was nice. Our group was treated extremely well by the entire staff!

Overall design is pleasantly challenging. Sand traps are in generally good shape. greens are under renovation, which is definitely needed. You cant beat the price for an intown course or the location.

Used to be a big fan of the course, but recently, theyve done lots of illogical things, such as 1) closing the course to golfers and opening it as a park, which has spread more COVID than if it were otherwise operated as a golf course 2) raising the cups above ground, when no other course in the metro area is doing this 3) closed the course on Tuesdays for walkers (can we get Piedmont Park opened as a golf course on Tuesday??)

One of the best 18 hole courses Ive ever been to. Been to Chastain a few times this year and always impressed.

I dont know what these other people are talking about..I cannot say enough about how welcoming Anthony and Merrick was when we entered the pro shop to pay for green fees. They were so personable and friendly. The starter was the best. He was also very welcoming and even gave me some tips on the first few holes. The ranger was also so nice. He went beyond the call to find out if it was cart path only or not. He let us know we could go to our ball with our cart. We saw the the ranger and starter make their rounds several times during our 4 hour round to keep people moving. The course was in excellent condition and greens were immaculate. What a great day!!! We will definitely be back. Rates were very reasonable and WHAT an awesome park where it is located.

The nature of the park was amazing. To walk the park takes about 3.1 miles one go around. Very friendly folks walking and walking their pets, bike riders. Park was very clean.

That place was terrible he did not let me go on the golf course because a school was suppose to go 20 minutes and it is the worst course it is muddy

Beautiful, well-maintained course in a prime location with gas-powered golf carts. There is no driving range at this facility and parking is limited to the street. The staff is friendly, the prices are reasonable and the course is challenging.

There were several places need touch ups.But all greens were perfect true and fast.Its a great golf course for the better golfers whether red, white, or blue tee.

Staff were all very friendly and helpful with tips to navigate the course. This is a decent municipal course. Some tee boxes and fairways have picturesque views of Atlanta. Lots of elevation changes (compared to where I play in Savannah GA and North Carolina). Greens were fast and fairly smooth. Not an easy course to walk due to the steep climbs, especially on the back 9. Drainage is a problem, quite a few muddy fairways. Some areas suffer from significant rain erosion. It appeared that bunkers are under repair but I see the potential once they are filled with sand. If you temper your expectations and understand that this isn’t Augusta, you will enjoy your round.

For a county course, this is a pretty nice course. If you are a players club member you can walk for free after 6. The greens are tough to read, and often play pretty slow. I would recommend this course to someone who is looking for a place in the city. Number 2 is the toughest green on the course. Proper pin placement is crucial, otherwise expect to get bogey or worse. I personally have never encountered rude staff members. However, it can become pretty congested. I think pace of play could be better at certain times. You should make it through 9 holes in less than 2hrs and 45min, however, all to often that isnt the case. If you are looking for a really nice course, then join a country club or play 30 minutes outside the city. This has exactly what an amateur needs to have a good time by yourself, or with your buddies.

Forepass!!! The course is in great shape, but watch out for all the geese! They get ornery because they have a small Abdullah oblongata.

Terrific golf course with a classic design. Round will typically take 5 plus hours, which is the main issue here. Pace of play is absolutely awful. Otherwise, tremendous value and golf course.

One star for upkeeping up the course. This place is poorly managed for the price. They do nothing to group singles with other players so you end up being stuck behind multiple singles in a row some walking, some carting and it’s becomes a cluster when those singles run into a foursome that’s playing slow. You would think those singles would self manage and group themselves up but nope. They do nothing about keeping people within a time frame either so those players who are slow just continue to cause a queue throughout the day. If your significant other just likes to ride along and read while you play don’t come here bc they want to charge you full price. If it’s pouring rain sorry no rain checks. There’s also no range. I’ve been here multiple times with multiple groups and each and every time its more of the same. Go get a better experience outside the city for this price.

Probably the best public course on the planet... Its difficult to play. You will lose more balls then youre use to.

Challenging greens...I wish they had a driving range

October, 2012 - My church group plays here regularly. The course was in good shape, as it has been for several years now. Greens were in excellent shape and challenging. Terrific environment in which to play! Always friendly and helpful staff. Wait time on first hole can be challenging. (So many, want frustratioin, so much . . .) Along with the Bobby Jones Golf Course, one of the best values in the Atlanta area. (We played on a Saturday morning for $32!!) Highly recommend playing the course.

The greens are burned out and unplayable in areas, plus management is incompetent. Avoid at all cost.

Never even got to the course. Called to book a tee time and after my experience with the staff on the phone and the other reviews that speak of the horrible staff I figured that with all the courses in Atlanta I didnt need to go where I didnt feel I was welcomed. All the reviews that are low star ratings have all to do with the staff.This may be a clue for the city of Atlanta. They say the customer rules, not at this establishment.

This location is one of Atlantas finest areas. Great entertainment and wonderful restaurants plus so much more!

The Rangers are rude and do not understand pace of play. We were asked to pick up our ball and move to the next hole after no prior warning to politely speed it up. We were on hole 13 at 3:50 minutes which is maybe 8-10 minutes behind pace. No one was waiting behind us. We finished 4:43 minutes for the round and Im shocked at the service and unprofessional attitude of these 2 Rangers. I think one was Jim but not sure. We brought 2 guys who just moved here from Chicago and they will not be playing there again, nor will I. For $50 there are many courses that provide great service and respectful staff near Atlanta. I play 50 rounds per year and usually 10 at North Fulton. No longer will that be happening. Wish I had better news but this was completely unacceptable.

Hopefully someone from Atl Parks & Recreation will pick this up but finally a team has brought this golf course which has always been a good layout to its full potential, Played this course on and off since I was a kid and its never been in better shape. From the refurbished bunkers to flush fairways, eye for detail landscaping, new golf carts and finally with new needed rolling equipment greens that are smooth and roll at about 9 on the stemp. The marshals are friendly and helpful along with the golf shop staff. Does have a tendency to get overcrowded at times but understandable given its the only public game in north Atlanta. Chastain Park GC has evolved from a average at best facility to a A rated public course. And there is a locker room renovation underway.. Kaseem Reed s legacy with his parks and recreation platform initiative should be proud

Awesome course and very reasonably priced. Visited here with a 4 some on vacation and everything was great. Starter spaced everyone out appropriately.

Nothing fancy in the clubhouse at all: a big screen with the golf channel going, your basic supplies for the game, plus hot dogs and plenty of beverages, oh yeah, and a beautiful, challenging course for a bargain price!! Thank you, City of Atlanta! North Fulton is pretty near perfect in my book.

If you want to overpay for a poorly designed and badly maintained course this one is for you! Where should I start? The lack of parking lot? The very rude employee (yes...there was only one)? The bumpy postage stamp greens were tons of fun! Most holes I actually would have preferred to be in the rough (better grass).

The greens were very good and fast. The green of hole # 2, #9, #10, #12, #18 are very challenging. The fairways are getting better each year.The club house and washrooms are getting better after the renovation recently.

Very Nice Golf Course for an average golfer like myself. Not too much water and enough Par-able holes. The parking really does suck over here because you have to deal with Chastain Park traffic

This course is basic and has what you need. Its not the fanciest of places but if golf is the game, play here. This is located near all the restaurants.

Good quality public course, decent greens and fairways, readily accessible location, friendly staff.

The basic layout has tremendous potential, most notably on the back nine, albeit minimalist grounds keeping by the current management team turns what could be a really nice course into a classic muni. Complete disregard for managing pace-of-play on weekends and Friday afternoons is inexplicable and forces decent to good players to suffer from exceptionally slow pace of a few hackers. A half-dozen long par fours (holes 4, 9,12,13,15 and 18) are a real strength. The par threes are solid, two great tee shots (8,14) and two ho-hum holes. The are three par fives and all are memorable for the wrong reasons. This trio were designed as three shot holes at a time when technology was less aggressive. Long hitters cant pull driver on 5 or 17 for fear of hitting the ball through the fairway and into a hazard. Hitting three consecutive irons on par fives is uneventful, to say the least. While driver is an option on hole 10, the bowling alley landing area with accompanying left-to-right sloping fairway towards OB often ruins long, non-drawing drawing tee shots. The 18th is a beast and should be converted to a par five (par moving from 71 to 72) as 446 yards uphill-playing more like 470 would be a solid PGA hole. If you cant play during the week, early AM on weekends is the only option as pace-of-play degrades from 830AM on.

Nice course right in Buckhead. However since its so close to the city, you have lots of below par golfers. Makes for the pace of play to be brutal! Get out early!

I can primarily only speak to my experience with the staff as I only played through 3 mediocre holes before getting rained out. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had as a paying customer in general; and I dont believe I have ever been so publicly disrespected before in my life. After teeing off at 1PM and making it through 3 holes, a storm rolled in raining us out. After taking cover for about 45 minutes under a wooden canopy off of the 4th hole (along with maintenance staff), we made our way to the clubhouse at 2:30 (less than an hour prior to this review). When we requested a rain check from the pro shop, a member of the staff (Robbie) decided to make a public mockery of our request and refused to issue us our rain check. We explained we had only made it through three holes of golf before taking cover with staff for nearly an hour, but that didnt suffice. Amidst other unwarranted comments we were told that we must be the worst slowest golfers in the world of you only made it through three holes, didnt only play three holes, youre full of..., if you have issues I can send you to Golf Now since thats where you bought your tickets. All of this with a raised voice in front of a dozen other guests and another employee who finally attempted to cool him down and ushered him away . As a business owner, I would have fired my employee on the spot for treating customers the way we were treated; and this doesnt even scratch the surface of the 5 minute exchange that nearly escalated. I did try reaching both the general manager and marketing magner by phone to formally complain and ofcourse both voice mailboxes are full. I wouldnt expect anything special with your experience at N Fulton Golfcourse.
