Fairly disappointed from a visitor experience view point. There is no signage outside or once inside to direct visitors to museum. Once you do locate the museum downstairs, it’s labeled as a “research center”. Once inside the space is smaller than expected but that’s not an issue - the work by William Downs is breath taking and a must see.The issue is the lack of interaction upon check in. The associate is blocked from view by signage, you literally don’t see a person sitting behind the desk. She asked my name, checked me in but offered zero info about the organization or the work on view. When I specifically asked about this I was offered a note card and nothing else. The note card listed upcoming events - this wasn’t helpful at all. Please improve way finding and employ staff who are interested and excited to share about the work. A one minute introduction to make people feel welcome and offer insight would also help with conversion (if you’re interested in that). I typically prefer smaller museums for this more personal experience so was terribly disappointed in my first visit to MOCA.
This is one of my favorite museums in Atlanta, the staff is super friendly and super helpful. I always look at their calendar for upcoming events. Also, I really enjoy the broad spectrum of artists they exhibit/represent. The William Downs exhibition in particular was fantastic and has been stewing and bubbling within me since I first saw it. Very excited to have an artist like that being shown here in Atlanta. The Hispanic/Latinx show is also phenomenal and I cant wait to see the future series of installations of the works. I am so glad I became a member of this museum!
I adore going to MOCA. Very Covid friendly and enjoyed having the space practically to myself to view the exhibition. Participated in the recent virtual artist talk and information on the exhibitions is readily available online. The staff has always been super friendly and informative.Super excited for the new space at the Goat Farm.
The commenter below me has no idea what she is talking about. I just visited for the second time and had an even more incredible experience than the first! Sweet receptionist is so friendly and knowledgeable of the exhibits and artists - she even knows them personally! She is super passionate and makes going there such a joy!Its unfortunate that some people take their unhappiness out on others businesses and experiences. Will DEFINITELY be visiting again!!!
The Ariel Danielle exhibit was expressive and vibrant.
This museum had an amazing amounts of different contemporary styles and media. The staff were really friendly and the place had a good atmosphere. The only problem is that the stairs (while pretty) and very hard to walk up/down. Finding the back stairs would make things easier for the elderly and disabled audience.
We came to see the Brian Dettmer book sculptures and were not disappointed. I was surprised there werent more floor exhibits. They have a lot of space. Note the gallery is downstairs and we did not find an elevator.
A beautiful facility in the Buckhead section of Atlanta. This is the official Museum of Contemporary Art of Atlanta. It is a forward-thinking Museum with not only great works of Contemporary Art but offers space that can be rented for your next wedding or social event. And they do a lot of fun stuff like push pin show and wine and coloring night. Worth a visit!
I was a guest at a wedding here and it was just lovely! The staff were attentive and very knowledgeable about the art and artists.
Excellent museum featuring and supporting Georgia based contemporary artists. Impressive how much great art is created here in Georgia.
Excellent Museum of Contemporary Art. #miz_pound_cake
Fun, great experience for all ages
It was very nice!... The art there was very lovely... And they also have a professional photographer...
Great visit to the museum with the family. I love contemporary art.
My favorite museum in Raleigh. The exhibits are always amazing & so beautiful. Staff is friendly, it is never crowded or feels rushed.
Awesome exhibits will return
Really cool place that features many talented local artists. The curator took time to discuss the exhibits and that really added another dimension to my visit.
It is the best place
Way bigger inside than it appears. Lots of different spaces.
Love love love the work of the artists they feature and support!

Accessible and cool contemporary art gallery
This place is great. Several galleries are housed within this building. Depending on the day all the galleries are open. Its also a great place to see solo exhibitions from new and local artist.
Well worth the cost of admission.
Love the exhibits. Always pushing the limits of art. Puts Atlanta on the map.
Smaller, quiet museum with very interesting, unique and thought provoking art work.
First time there so experience is limiting for comparison to other venues. Great art work and setup
Always something happening. Gorgeous space. Love it here.
