It’s a good art store. They have the standard art stuff. Their customer service could be a little more welcoming and warm. Sometimes I feel like I’m bothering them....and I’m not one to try to ask a bunch of questions or chitchat if that’s not the vibe.

They had a nice selection of watercolor products but their prices are no lower than Blick, Sam Flax, Jerrys or even Hobby Lobby. In fact they are a few cents more expensive then Hobby Lobby on Winsor Pro Watercolors. Their staff is incredible nice and this location was right off the interstate. I visit various art stores while traveling. I would def buy/order from them again.

Cheep Joes is a great Fine Arts store. Everything that the Artist will need for that next Master Piece and at very reasonable prices!

I have always gotten just what i wanted art-wise and the helpful crew there if i couldnt find it, plus the prices are good. Plus their commitment to the community is appreciated!

Best Art Store for the Best Art City on the East Coast. You would have to go to Southern France to find a better art store or Northern Italy where just like Milan Italy or Toulouse France this place Asheville NC is a center for Musicians and Artists because its so beautiful, complete with a beautiful art store, with beautiful people. Make time for Art! By upgrading your art supplies to paint like a Maestro go to this place! They have a catalog better than anyone, on the east coast, where you dont have to worry about Earthquakes, Tornadoes or shortages of water. A very beautiful art store in a beautiful place, filled with Art Deco from the 1920s. This place is like New Rochelle New York, 100 years later.

While our local Asheville store gives amazing customer service, the online store leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered materials for a custom job with a deadline. Cheap Joe’s did not inform me that they were out of stock and when the materials did not come I finally called. The customer service representative was indifferent, rude, and lacking in the least bit of concern for my situation. Rather than explaining things thoroughly, she kept repeating the same thing over and over again, which may make sense if you work in their distribution center but their company lingo is not shared planet wide. She was unapologetic, indifferent, and offered no help whatsoever. This was a terrible experience. I’ll be either buying my supplies locally or looking for a different online source.

The person working the register refused to wear a mask during a pandemic. She should be fired or atleast made to work away from customers. A lot of older people shop here. I have spent lots of money at the store and will never be returning.

While the paint prices were great, there was zero customer service. To the point that I didnt feel my business was wanted and I spent $250 plus......

It is great to have a local store that has a nice variety of paints and supplies. I recently bought a set of oil paints as a gift and decided to buy local so I went in and found a nice set and bought it without thought. I understand that local stores will be more expensive than amazon but the $90 set of paints at the store sells for $29 on Amazon.... that is a ridiculous markup.Still 3 stars for the nice selection and friendly staff.

Very nice selection and well organized. There premade panels are great and I love them. The staff is usually really helpful too. The parking lot can be a nightmare though.

A reasonably priced art supply store! They do exist folks. Ive never been to a Cheap Joes physical location before. Generally on the web. Its clean, organized, and has all my fantastic brand paper by the sheet.

Every time my father is town I take him to Cheap Joe’s to pick up some supplies. Great selection according to my father and he really likes that he can actually feel things like the paint brushes. Beats ordering online! We take my Great Pyrenees with us and he is always welcome.

Its a pretty good place. Honestly, I dont really see why people go on and on about it. It seems like its pretty great for painters and pencil artists but I was a bit disappointed by the pen selection. They only have one brand of gel pen and they were out of many of the colors. I was hoping to be able to support them but it seems Ill have to continue online searching and shopping for now. Otherwise, the staff are very helpful so thats always a plus.

I like Cheap Joes. They have a collection of different types of art supplies. What they dont have in stock they can order. It has a local feel and they support the local arts scene. If you are a student and can prove it there is a discount available. They occupy a small corner of a large building.

The stars are honestly for the great, friendly staff. Decent prices and sort-of limited selection. There have been more than a few times that the supplies that I need are out of stock without a restock date to tell of; even for something as seemingly ubiquitous as stretcher bars. Also next to impossible to get to without a car, though I dont deduct stars for that given most places in Asheville are inaccessible without a car.

Compared to other art supply stores Ive been to this store does have very reasonable prices on paints and canvases I cant comment on other stuff. Its a little hard to find if youre coming from depot st, it will be on the left but at the end of the little shopping center thing. Near a storage facility.

A wonderful store for Artist! They have a wide selection of art supplies(brushes, paints, paper, etc.) with good prices and great quality. The staff is super nice and willing to answer any questions you might have. Also their website is just as amazing so if your only visiting the area or going to be moving out of the area you can still purchase items from the website.

This is a great store and the customer service has always been what I required of it. Its always dangerous for an artist to walk into a place like this... I only need cadmium red and Im out... Ten items later... *sigh*. The reason I knocked off a star is that this store insists on removing all plastic protectors from their brushes. I use them religiously to protect my supplies over time. Its a nit pick but I stand by the use of these things.

Staff was super helpful! Had a small selection of acrylic pens and out of art resin. I hope they get these things in stock.

Im a semi regular customer here, and the service is always good (i.e. they dont bother me, but gladly answer questions). Prices and selection are good, as far as I know, Im not a real artist... Not sure how stocking works, as theyve been out of a certain pen for a while, but maybe if I asked they would restock :-).
