Really cool park! They are lots of hiking trails to follow. Great views of nature. Percy place to take your kids on a nature walk. The park will provide guided nature tours as well as live animals in the nature center.

For the last decade Ive come to this park sporadically to hike and trail run, as a change of pace (I mainly play basketball). After the pandemic started trail running has become my main activity. Now I come to this park, and nearby parks (Windy Run, Donaldson Run, Zachary Tailor, Gulf Branch), about 3-4 days a week. They are all beautiful and well maintained.I feel very fortunate to live close enough to enjoy this park regularly. In these times, when the rest of our lives are spent inside, this place is life saver!

Lovely trails! My favorite part of this park is the garden that is open to walk through. It’s full of veggies and signs that teach visitors about vegetable gardening. A great spot to stroll through.

Great hiking trails here. Fun for dogs and kids. I love coming here during fall season when so many leaves are falling from the trees all at once and its fun seeing how many leaves we can catch before they hit the ground.

Such a great hidden gem! The trails are well shaded and maintained. Their bird-of-prey rescue center and community garden are a great educational outlet for all. Put this on your list of places to visit in the DC area.

This is a great section of forest and trails in the middle of Arlington County. It also has tennis courts and barbecue areas and basketball courts and picnic areas. Its very relaxing and a great place to be outdoors.

I had a blast I saw the bird in the cages and wildlife. I was on a date with my girlfriend and she loved it. The trees changing color is always fun to see. Plus there wasnt a lot of people thereto we kinda had it to ourselves. They have picnic tables and chairs all throughout the park. Trails are well kept. I would recommend it to my friends.

Louise(my dog) thought we were going out for a short hike and ended with 3.5miles of exploring the hills, the river, meeting new fur friends. The scenery was peaceful. The trails were well kept and the area was clean a preserved. We even saw a pack of deer run through. The trails did not have a lot of traffic on them but just enough to know where you were. I think we could have easily got 4miles of exploring in.

This park is a great local park. It has excellent trails for some light hiking. The nature center is a good place for younger kids, outside of pandemic shutdowns of course. It is possible to connect into the Potomac Heritage Trail from this park.

A great park for a leisurely Friday stroll. Paths are well marked. The actual overlook is in air quotes. Apparently you can only see the Potomac during the winter and the actual view is meh. But theres so much to do here from walking, exercising, to rhe nature center with birds of prey. Great family place

This is a small but very fun park. Im a runner and I could easily run for an hour here without running on the same trail twice. If you need more, you can hike or run down to the PHT and go all the way to Great Falls or Theodore Roosevelt island. If you need a break, the ranger station has lots of interest exhibits and activities for children. Definitely worth a stop! One small note, the overlook has had so much tree growth the view for which the park is named isnt spectacular.

We love Potomac Overlook. It is an urban oasis where our family could explore for hours and just spend time together in the peace. The nature center is small but our children always were happy to spend time there along with the wild bird sanctuary. The only downside to the park is that there can be quite a few people walking their dogs unleashed even though it is prohibited.

A great park in the northern part of Arlington. There are a number of hiking trails as well as a playground. There are a couple of parking lots in a row but it can be crowded on weekends with people parking on the edge of the park in the adjacent neighborhood. There is a nature center with some wild birds as well.

I play Pokemon Go here on community days and the park is always lovely. My 19 month old loves to run in the fields and explore. The nature center has recently been remodeled and you can look at the birds of prey that can no longer go back into the wild. There are nature walking trails that can be a lot of fun with the right footwear! (I would avoid flip flops). There is a playground for the kids older then my son as well as public bathrooms. There is also free parking. Its also a good place to take your dog. If you havent checked it out, I would!

Awesome little hiking spot nestled into a North Arlington neighborhood. Hike down towards the Potomac to oversee a view of Georgetown and the GW parkway. Continue along the trail down towards the nature center to check out the Master Gardeners example gardens to see what organic veggies/fruits you can grow in the area. Saved the best for last, check out the birds of prey exhibit. Walking up to this, I was surprised it even existed. We found two owls in the exhibit who had been permanently injured by car accidents and have now become residents of the park. The nice woman feeding the birds asked if we would like to watch them eat. She talked to us about the birds and the importance of the exhibit. It was pretty awesome! Neat owls that live right in our backyards! Will definitely stop back by after the new hawks arrive.

Great hiking trails that vary in length and difficulty. The nature center is an interesting place to take kids to look at the various reptiles including snakes, frogs, and turtles. The frog pond and community garden are most active in the late spring/ early summer months but the park is beautiful year round. It also has a playground and a shelter with restrooms at the entrance that are very conveniently located.

The large nature reserve begins with a playground, restrooms, and some limited parking. The walk to the nature center itself takes a few minutes - you cant park closer than that. The center has indoor reptile and bee exhibits, a childrens library, and even an outdoor bird of prey/raptor zoo. Hiking is perfect for young children and feels very woodsy and beautiful. Large park with plenty of wildlife. Saw a deer, lots of birds, frogs, insects. There is also a large garden that is quite nice later in the summer when everything is growing. Several other parks are right around it as well. Good trails through the woods. I felt bad for the birds of prey that are kept in small enclosures though.
