This is one of the prettiest hikes in Arizona. Ended up doing 10mi and crossing the river a few times. If you live in AZ or you have the chance to visit, you cant pass up this trail. If youre looking at doing it gradually, I recommend you hike for about the first 1 to 2 miles to see how vast and expansive this trail is, you wont be disappointed and youll get amazing views. For the time of the year and the weather, this is definitely a 5 stars trail. Must be harder in the summer, but its worth it.
This is definitely a trail with views!! Lose rocks and some light climbing—meaning, stress on the knees. Park across the road. Trail says no horses but saw a woman with her horse—just be careful. BEAUTIFUL TRAIL. It’s about 15 miles; I only did a little over 5. Will definitely come again but earlier. I was there at 7:30am and by the time I was driving off, (9:30ish), there was a line of cara. Social distancing isn’t working for some.
I havent been everywhere in the Superstitions but Boulder Canyon is one of the best places to get views of #nature and some of the greatest monuments in the whole caldera. Its an easy #daytrip if you start the trail at Boulder Lake there is a small turnoff before the Wilderness sign that lets you hike down into the canyon which you can follow until you hook back up with the main trail. It turns a back and forth hike into a loop and you get to spend a lot of time in the canyon. Sometimes during heavy rains you can get blocked and would have to climb big boulders or cross through water. #exploreoutside
