Great for kids! No bathroom (sometimes theres a port-a-potty behind the amphitheater), but it has everything else. Great playground for kids 5 and up but toddlers can get up the stairs fine. In Spring 2021 theyre adding more little kid infrastructure to the playground as well. Theres a hidden hiking trail (old native american trail!) in the woods that goes the entire length of the park on the south side, west to east. Its accessible at the beginning and end of the park as well as by stairs in the middle. While walking on it, be on the lookout for wild carrots, mushrooms, silkworms, and hollowed out trees and logs. Theres a cute little pond with a boardwalk to take across it and you can spot carp, mallards, and so many turtles! Theres also a large amphitheater to play on and pretend to have your own show. Next to it are some of the biggest trees! Free parking on the east side and Big City Small World bakery is just kitty corner to stop for a snack. Theres also a drinking fountain by the community gardens next to the baseball field.
Nice small play park. Well kept Baseball diamond. Short walking paths (my guess 1/4 mile). Not woodsy but scienic. A small stage that I always get a kick out of thinking back to the 60s days(before my time) with rock legends that played there.
Beautiful, open areas, a baseball field, a little amphitheater! Several plots used just for growing flowers, some for vegetables (I think)... an excellent place to walk, practice karate, salsa dance or just sit and take it all in.
Great playground. Newer, kid-safe equipment in a grassy spot with easy parking at Allen Elementary. Basketball courts, too.
Small park but nice community garden, playground and pond. My favorite part was the wildlife at the pond- turtles, fish, ducks and muskrats! There was quite a few people outside just smoking weed and one guy harassing people but maybe we just went on an off day?
The ballfield is very nice but alot of drugs and drinking goin on in the parking lot
Great place to go for a walk or take the kids to see the pond with goldfish and Koi in it. You can also see ducks and turtles!
West Park is a lovely community park that hosts many art, music & cultural events on its bandshell stage !! My favorite event is the annual Teddy Bear Picnic on the grass hosted by the A2SO . Bring your most cuddly teddy bear & plenty of delicious Teddy bear snacks, a soft blanket and a friend or two and you’ll have a lovely evening!
Wish there was more walking space but the place is peaceful!
An under used public space in the heart of the the old west side
Nice park with an amphitheatre.
Nice park with very friendly people #chorizo
A nice little park right near downtown Ann Arbor. You can access this park from different sections of the city easily. Its quite and beautiful woth a walking trail, play area and a small amphitheater. During summer months, every Wednesdays you can attend free concerts here. Limited parking.
Great place for a walk, with or without kids, with or without dogs. If youd like a glimpse of this areas oak openings prairie past, the area east of the band shell is for you, with several massive oak trees amidst tell grasses and other plants.
I love what this park offers: vast area to walk with concrete and wooden paths, a bandshell, a pond with real and changing fauna to watch through the seasons, a baseball field, a community garden and a decent small playground... it hosts concerts in the summer too. Its mostly clean and used by the community.Sometimes is visited by people with other purposes far from enjoying the park. I wish it were more lighted or had a shelter area or included a kid-attractive feature like a better play structure or a natural playground that integrates the creek to the park.
Needs some serious up-keep.
Nice place to eat lunch
Pretty sure there were people injecting drugs behind a tree near the picnic table I sat at. It was good though, added to the ambiance
I live close so I go to the park a lot. It’s great always lots of kids and people with dogs, a great place to go, plenty of convenient parking and it’s walking distance to YMCA.The wildlife in the small pond is great, Mallards and their babies, thousands of big gold fish, muskrats, squirrels, rabbits . A fun place for everyone.
Quiet and serene.
Nice city park.
Dirty..no restrooms
Such a beautiful and underutilized park. So many nice features, some ancient trees, a budding non-native goldfish and turtle population, and some feisty squirrels.
The orchestra had kids night in the park tonight, and it was great. Played lots of songs from movies all the kids know, there was a big teddy bear parade, and a lot of kids dancing in front of the Amphitheatre. Awesome free show. Great venue.
Courts need resurfacing.
Probably stopped here to play pokemon.
Lovely place to walk around and listen to music Wednesday evenings in the summer time
Go here at dusk or night in mid summer for great city views and lots of firefly activity!
Best park in ann arbor but they need more bands to play at band shell
As a family we really like walking through this park on our way downtown. There is a good playground for the kids and some nice walking paths that are stroller accessible. There is a little pond that is always a highlight since it is often populated with ducks!
Its peaceful. You can people and dog watch.
West Park is an enjoyable place to walk, or listen to a summer concert at the shell.
Nice small park with a neat little pond
Great venue for play, the porta potty could be in better shape.
Beautiful Clean Delightful Park
Wonderful Park useful for parties baseball games has playground for multiple ages basketball court a band shell for concerts a small pond walking paths and is close to town
Beautiful park usually very peaceful unless they have a concert going on, but the concerts are nice. Go to West Park and relax, unwind, get some fresh air.
Great for children and sports I recommend it a bunch!
Clean and peaceful
This is one of my favorite Ann Arbor parks, and its super loaded with nostalgia. There is a small playground with some swings, and some nice tables to sit on. Its a nice place to meet friends or go for a walk

Always a relaxing park to soak in some quiet time.
Enjoyed outdoor play The Gravedigger performed by Penny Seats Theatre Co. More performances next weekend 6/28-30. Well worth seeing!
Nice park with playground, meandering paths, a pond with walk-over deck path, baseball field, and summer concerts. Great shortcut walk versus main road sidewalks.
It was very enjoyable experience. Freindly park goers I encountered during my visit
What a cozy place for walking around !!
A recipient of Obamas stimulus reconstruction funds, this park oozes family, wildlife, secluded areas, or wide open fields. Great basketball courts, community gardens, baseball diamond, playground, and of course, the boardwalk over the pond teeming with ducks, fish, turtles, muskrats, and in the right season, mating frogs. After the frogs do their thing -- which they do rather aggressively right on the edge of the pond for all to see -- you can watch their tadpoles swarm by the thousands and grow into tiny baby frogs over the next 10 weeks or so. Finally, on many summer mornings and evenings, a great blue heron can be seen hunting majestically in the water, plucking fish out with its long beak. Love this park.Oh, forgot to mention... The Grateful Dead played here in the copper-topped bandshell in 1967!
I really like this big park.
No longer a seedy park now families are comfortable there
Sand box and the toys are new and clean. Parking is limited. My 2 year old love this park.
Ducks, blue heron, turtles, and the occasional muskrat, just . 25 miles from downtown!
Awesome inner city park
Nice park with outdoor band shell for mini concerts and shows...
Cute little park couple blocks from main street, equipped with a garden of all things.
Quite place great walk
One of the best little secret parks in AA. Great place to hang out, have a picnic, or go play frisbee in the baseball field. You get this sense like youre hidden away in a valley, like nobodys watching you. Its a good place to feel separated from the city life while dwelling within nature.
Place we like to go and brocolli
Not a bad park cool old baseball diamond. Little high on the homebum side with the occasional weirdo. But its a safe place
One of Ann Arbors finest parks
A nice park in Ann Arbor. Theyve got an amphitheater and a baseball diamond, and some nice walking/biking trails
Pleasant park. Ponds with koi and ducks, community garden, porta potty, walking paths, picnic tables, playground.
Its like a backyard park. Very cute.
Nice place to relax
Ive only been approached a few times by drug dealers...
Nice place to chill
Nice park space with baseball/basketball/tennis and a boardwalk over a tiny pond filled with toads, goldfish and turtles.
Beautiful lark and an area of multiple activities.
Nice park near down town with a play structure, sand pit, and merry-go-round. Also a small pond with ducks/goldfish.
Ive been to this park a few times. It seems like nobodys heard of it. I couldnt even find it on Google. It seems like its been there for a while. The park is featured on the A2.gov Parks and Places page, so I know its a real park and Im not just making this up.From that page:The park contains a bandshell where concerts are given in the summer, a picnic shelter and restrooms, a playground, spray fountain, softball field, a basketball court, tennis courts, volleyball posts, picnic tables and walking path.A historic pergola is located at the Miller entrance. Some of the most beautiful Oaks are located in the middle of the park near the picnic area. The Willow trees mark the location of Allen Creek which is now in a pipe underground.Parking is off Chapin.
Small but nice
Cute little park with a small pond and LOTS of ducks!
Its nice but for me I would say it lacked landscaping
I grew up playing in this park its still beautiful
