Great place to go on a clear day to see different mountains. We went on a day that was overcast, so we couldnt see to much.

Thought itd be cool to visit monuments with my bf as a date, since theres plenty to see and lots of pokéstops in this area of course.

Anchorage Mayor E. Berkowitz has decided he has the right to give this statue to Eklutna Native Corporation. Firstly, its public property and he does not have the right to give it away and secondly, his motivations for doing so are cowardly and reprehensible.

Excellent place to go view a sunset very picturesque and the flowers in the pots were perfect parking on a Sunday was no problem.

Beautiful view and a reminder about how far this guy travelled although he doesnt have a great reputation when it comes to his treatment and engagement with indigenous peoples.

I love this place at sunset. On a good day the Great One (Denali) is visible. But Sleeping Lady is a sight to behold any day off the year! Hope you enjoyed my photos.

Very amazing monument, the setting, time of year.

Disturbing and dangerous illegal activity was occurring during our visit just beyond the lookout point down the ramp. Extremely disappointing as the view of the sunset was beautiful. This area must not be patrolled as the illegal activity was brazen to say the least. Several people wanted to proceed down the ramp but quickly turned back once they spotted what was occurring below. Be extremely careful if you visit this location.

Great view from here and its in a quiet part of the city. Nice walk from downtown.

I was impressed, and humbled by the greatness of the man and the City of Anchorage honoring him. However, the monument needs done cleaning up and maintenance.

Very impressive statue, nice plaque. Good views of the bay here.Too bad there wasnt much information on how the Captain is tied into the Anchorage area. There was more info on his Asian expeditions.
