This is a beautiful statue and could be a great place to learn a little more about the indigenous culture in the Whidbey island area. There’s a little collection of plaques around her that tell her story, but they’re severely sun faded and need replacing. I did my research before we visited and watched a short documentary on her, but i would’ve loved to be able to read about her again while there. The area around the Maiden herself wasn’t too crowded, but there were a few groups on the beach the day we went.
This is a beach I had not been on in thirty years. Its a little smaller than my childhood memories. Weve had some wonderful sun filled days this weekend. March sun feels like such a rare gift that it really needs to be celebrated. We had a fine time sitting on the beach looking at the tide pools. Im glad they think they are recovering but they still are not prime. A hard path going closer to the water and no logs to crawl over would make it so much easier for the mobility impaired.
Spent my first day out of the house at the Rosario Beach area at Deception Pass State Park. I have always gone to North Beach and was looking for a spot that would allow us to have some distance from others and access to water. Such a lovely spot that has a nice field for play, beach access, hiking trails, and a beautiful wooded Forest.
Beautiful views with sea otter and harbor seal spotting. Tide pools, kelp, and rocky beach.
Nice place to visit and photograph.Nice trail to walk on and beach.
The views were amazing we had a great picnic and little hike with our dog. only negative no trash or recycle cans and no dog waste dump
Great legend of the Samish people worth the visit. I only wish that they would put stain or some wood perserver to help on the maiden so she could better stand the test of time. There is a dock u can walk on and a small path to the water (which is freezing by the way). Dog friendly if kept on a leash and u are responsible owner that picks up after ur pet! The dock can slightly seperate with the waves of the water so supervision of small children is advised. The dock is not a boat launch but u might be able to get a small canoe or boat down to the water if two people are carrying. You can drive and park really close to the maiden so if u are in a wheelchair and someone is assisting u can still probably enjoy this piece of Native American heritage. There is also a picnic area so its a nice little place to bring some grub but no trash cans so pack out what u pack in. They do have restrooms there also not porta-potties.
Historical site, nearby picnic area, trails, tide pools, and bathrooms.
Nice place to take a quick walk. Decent veiws.
Fun quick hike about and lookout...tons of fun!
I have been to Deception Pass often and I state that I was shocked at how unique it is. I would have to recommend this as a must visit, it is breathtaking.
Beautiful views after a short walk. More of a scenic stop than a hike. Would be great for kids, but be careful around the cliffs!
Great hikes amazing views
Neat place. The trail left me breathless.
Pretty neat statue greeting you before a short hike to some crazy views. Check out footage from my time here on my YouTube channel, Life Outdoors!
Beautiful place to visit.
Beautiful off the beaten path beach and walking trails.
Rosario Beach is the most beautiful beach on Fidalgo Island
Beautiful park with lots to offer.
Beautiful! Worth a visit
Great trails. If you like to hike and explore. Go check it out. Amazing views
Loved it. Serenity
Gorgeous park, well maintained walkways, the story by the statue is unreadable at this point but this park was one of the highlights of our trip to the Washington coast.
Interested statue with a story. Beyond that there is a nice loop trail with great views. Access to the water/beach, and bathroom close by. No trash service, at least in the off season so pack it in/pack it out. Decent amount of parking and you need a Discover Pass.
Got to meet the Carver of this statue and a tribal member that told the story of the statue and the land. Very neat history! We love coming here.
Excellent veiws..
Really neat. Love the walking trails around it
I got married not far from here! Love Rosario park!
Very cool totem but you cant read the story - signs have corrupted text and are extremely corroded
So many people dont get out and see these local treasurers, such wonderful things the PNW offers to the ones of us that want to learn the world around us. Turn the TV off and get out and see the history of this beautiful state .
Cool little story and statue but it’s in a state of disrepair
This has such a cute story attached and the area is beautiful. It makes for a fun time with friends, family, dogs, etc.
This park have nice hikes and beautiful scenic views
Rosario is a beautiful location. great spot for photo shoots.
Absolutely incredible scenery, I am in love with this place.
For those who share the respect and appreciation of the relationship between man and his ecosystem, the native tribes and the bounties of the sea, this is a beautiful tribute.
We went to Big Cranberry lake. Very nice lake good fishing.

I absolutely love this place. Its a really nice place to take in some beautiful sights or just sit and clear your mind.
Tide pools curated by local volunteers, we saw a lot of stuff thanks to their help!
Super cool and interesting statue with an incredibly interesting legend to accompany it.
A good area for mild hiking. Good for children and pets (just beware the cliffs).
Its so beautiful there! Me and my family love it
I always love hearing the confused comments from tourista. The Maiden is such a beautiful statue and her presence adds a greater depth and meaning to Rosario Beach State Park.
Beautiful beach
Beautiful sunset - three days in a row ...
Its very nice place to visit and do picnic
Beautiful! Great beach, rocks, and a good picnic area, too. Watched a perfect “rainy sunset” here.
Beautiful views and sea cliffs!!! Great trails if you dont mind steep.
Awesome cove. Beautiful.
Went camping there and it was really fun
Beauty around each corner!
My kids enjoyed the afternoon here skipping rocks.
Maiden of Deception Pass is nice, the view here is incredible but its so windy .
A nice area to hang out by the water, and have a picnic at a picnic table.
Story on the sign could use a little touch up, its getting hard to read..
Liked the totem pole
Great bay view
Pretty awesome place. During the spring to summer months, when the tides are low, there are tide pools for kids to explore. Hike up the short trail and the San Juans and Pacific really opens up to you. Very scenic place.
Great little park and walk
Really liked the park and the tidal pools
Went to get some pictures of the Sunday and saw orcas instead. Great place for photos!!
Beautiful place to go!

Historically cool.
I went hiking here and the trail was nice but some of it was on a ledge so if you are nervous about heights you may not like it
