Beautiful park with great views of the San Juan islands and surrounding mountains. there is a loop trail that you can either drive, bike, or walk around with many places to stop and enjoy the views. There are multiple beaches to hang out at and none of them were overly crowded. There are both reservation-only and first come campsites available for both their utility and non-utility sites. There are multiple showers and bathrooms available for campers. The campsites are constantly monitored by Park staff who are very friendly. The park staff will drop off firewood to your campsite for $5 a bundle. This is a great Park to visit if you find yourself in Anacortes Washington!

This is a beautiful park at the west of Anacortes. The bathrooms near the entry to the loop road are clean and easily accessible. The pull off spots tend to fill up mid day. Bring a cold picnic, no grills on the loop trail. Theres a great Vista halfway, and loads of walking trails.

We walked here from our hotel. The boat dock was very busy but we started walking along the loop drive. A little way along there were some trails down to the water. WE took one and found a rocky beach with lots of driftwood and downed trees. They were the perfect backdrop for pictures. My husband came down and picked us up in the car and we continued around the loop drive. There were many areas along the way to pull off in the car with many photo ops. There was even a bridal party showing up for a photo shoot. There is a campground located in the park too. It is worth the time to drive to all the way around and experience the very different views on each side of the park.

This is a great destination, it has the most gorgeous views of the San Juan Islands! It is a large city park with ample parking, boat and beach access, hiking trails, and picnic spots everywhere. We spent a lovely afternoon there. My favorite part was walking the loop road-- its wonderful but be careful-- it has a narrow shoulder for walking.

We went there with hopes of camping, but turned right around when we saw that there is almost zero privacy at these campsites. Hardly any vegetation even separates these campsites, which is really unfortunate, because it is such a beautiful area. How disappointing. Wish someone else had discussed the lack of privacy so that we would have known.

I hiked on the trail alongside the water to Sunset Beach and took the Washington Loop Road, which goes pretty far. Being near the waves and then surrounded by massive trees felt so magical. Googles description is very informative: This 220-acre city park offers camping, a boat launch, day-use picnic sites & a scenic loop road.

Plenty of tables, parking, a boat launch right next to it, snacking scenic loop to drive/walk with pull out spots to take things in and maybe check out the tide poolsif the tide is out. Couple of port-o-potties (bring TP). Great big area for games, playground, and a nice beach area. Only draw back is it can get crowded quickly.

This is a must see for anyone visiting Anacortes. The park is perched on a point and there are spectacular views from almost anywhere you stop. You can camp here too, which I have not yet, but the camp ground itself looks private and inviting. There is a single lane road around the whole park with pull offs to stop and enjoy a picnic with the family. I never miss an opportunity to stop at Washington Park when I am in the vicinity.

This a great camp ground. Very clean and maintained. There is always camp personnel riding through looking after the Park. Trash is picked up daily and other campers are friendly. Camp sites can be close if you are wanting to be near another group or further away if you want to be left alone. Large enough buffer zones between camps if needed. Beach access is near by.

For a smaller island style park, this place is awesome. It has about everything you could ask for or could expect in something like this. It has a campground, a paved trail, wooded paths, ocean front views, benches placed strategically throughout, restrooms and a wide variety of trees. The paved path is 2.1 miles and is always open to walk and through the day it is open to motorists. There are many small marked paths that lead through the woods that hold so many beautiful scenes.
