Very informative. They are also having an indigenous people festival on the 24th of Oct that is a must. Im definitely going!
Museum of Indian Culture it is a great idea to visit and know more about all of american culture. Even if you want just walk around next to the river.
Great museum, many very nice native American artifacts. Very knowledgeable staff.
This place has some amazing facts...check it out
Wonderful beautiful place. Great familia bonding together time. Native American indian Crafts at Powwows for children as well at the Powwow candy dancing for the children having there little dancing to. Teaching the children in our familia part of our familia history as well
Excellent representation of Native American culture and history.I went to a powwow out here over the summer and when I saw this museum, it gave me chills to see the history come to life before my eyes. The feeling that consumes you is impossible to put into words. The building itself is historical in nature. Take a tour and experience this life-changing event for yourself.
This is a small museum but the collection of artifacts and displays is condensed effectively. No photos are allowed in the museum unfortunately.Tours are suitable for small groups and are affordable. The two tour guides I was led by today were very passionate, but were occasionally sidetracked.I did not have lime left to stay long at the gift shop. I hope in future this musuem could offer postcards of its own collection and/or allow photos of certain memorable exhibits.
Always a pleasure to be here. Love to learn from real Natives.
Went on a Saturday over the summer. O was looking forward to really learning some history. It was just gift shop booths and food. Not very authentic and the museum itself was closed. Too many people, too hot.
The guide was hostile and angry from the moment my friend and I walked in the door. He seemed very attentive and friendly to a younger lady guest so we really felt it.
Attended again in 2019. Bigger and better than past years. Awesome Powwow.
This museum is tiny, but the two men who run the place make up for it. They are more than happy to guide you through the artifacts, tell stories and chat afterwards. I went with my boyfriend today at 3 pm. We learned a lot from the curators and they stayed until 45 minutes past closing to continue to educate us. I even found out that I have an Aztec symbol on my pendant. This was a great experience for only $5 per person!!
We had fun
We went to a corn roasting festival, they had vendors, drumming, singing, dancing. There was pony rides for kids and mural painting. A great event for the whole family. And the had roasted corn- ummy!!!
Place was nice. Guide told some interesting stories and gave great insight into Indian culture.
Unset it wasnt open wail the pow wow was going on
Actually attended their annual corn roast - great time for cultural dancing, music, food, and crafts!
The history is interesting but theres not much to see inside. Theres a few Native American outfits and tools but thats about it. Also, the tickets are expensive for what you get. You should skip this place.
Love this place. The museum guide told stories and details of museum items. Very entertaining and educational. Hands on explanations of artifacts as well. Wonderful
Great presentation for us and the grandkids. They do their best to get children involved.
It was great fun and Love the Indian dancers. The music was great and the food was good. We made Drums and it was Great Fun.
Great events here
MUST SEE!! We go every year for the POWWOW. Lots of amazing people.. flute makers, drummers, dancers, jewelry, and all kinds of awesome items!! See the roasting of the corn, go inside a teepee, make a craft with the kids, and join the dance. Bring the Matice culture ALIVE!!!
Wesley was incredibly informative, welcoming and helpful during our visit. The place was a lot smaller than I expected it to be, but it is jam packed with information and displays. Wesley really made the place come alive, and we ended up staying longer than originally planned because of how into it we all became. 10/10 and would definitely recommend.
I love going here.
Awesome place for everyone
This is a wonderful place to learn about Native American social issues, traditions, history, and culture. The gift shop has some awesome beads, stones, t-shirts and decorative household goods as well.
Small. Not much to see but if your local worth the visit
Needs a knowledgeable person to run the museum.
Great place to learn about your heritage culture
