Excellent introduction to Mount Vernon and George and Martha Washington. Museum is very nicely laid out and contains many very interesting artifacts and articles. Staff are very good.

Great orientation

This building is essentially the beginning of your journey through Mount Vernon. It is where you can grab brochures, sign up for a tour, and just prepare yourself for your visit to George Washingtons estate. It is a very spacious building and feels very inviting. Its also here where you buy your ticket and go through a light security check. Prepare yourself here because once you exit the building it feels like you are traveling back in time.

George Washingtons Mount Vernon Estate puts on a big celebration of the first presidents birthday each year. This would have been the 287th birthday. The public was invited for free tour of the mansion and grounds. The day was capped off with birthday cake and a concert from members of the U.S. Air Force Band.

Interesting place, very knowledgeable guides. Some really interesting pieces of original furniture still in the house.Beautiful grounds and setting. Went round grounds with a stroller and most paths are fine for this, although I did have to double back at one point when I got to the woodland path as there were quite a few steps. Took a carrier too which was well worth it for the house tour as you arent allowed a stroller indoors.

It was great experience and I recommend that you pay a visit to this place at least once in your lifetime

Mt Vernon is a beautiful place, where the father of our nation, George Washington lived.

Nice introduction to George Washington home

So far Im disappointed in the tour of the mansion process. I bought tickets online for 10:30, they gave me 10:50, its now 11 and still a 20 minute wait. With three kids!
