I watched a sermon by the pastor on YouTube last year and I am so glad that I did. I love the teachings by him, associate ministry and guest ministers. CAYA, Can I Push It and OTOG have all been a blessing to me. My go to church during Covid19.

I have been on line with Alfred Street Baptist Church for going on 3years. I know for sure God is in that house of worship. There is something their for all of the congregation from the Pastor he preaches, teaches and illustrates so everyone understand the message. I am disabled so I feel like I am right there in the mist feel the Holy Spirit as if I were in the sanctuary. Last year I fasted with the Church wanted to do it again this year. Will continue to lift Pastor Wesley Up in Pray. Blessings

I love love love this church!!! I had been watching online for a couple of months and finally decided to just jump on a train And attend a service. I rived late Saturday afternoon so I caught the Saturday service in them was backup bright and early for the 730 Sunday service. It was like nothing I have experienced not because it was such a glamorous please but as soon as I walked through the doors I felt so welcomed. The congregation was so warm and friendly . The was amazing! And I was totally taken by surprise to see that they had an orchestra. As small as this church is they have an abundance of beautiful magic going on. Every moment of it was well worth the 4 hour train ride to get from New York to Virginia I look forward to and will continue to go back as often as I can

Get there at least 15 minutes early if you plan to sit in the sanctuary. Club Alfred’s bouncers will send you to the overflow room real quick. The service is more on the traditional side and well worth the struggle to get inside, if you enjoy that type of service.

Fantastic New Years Eve Service. Pastor Howard-John Wesley brought it to the people!! Got there early (about 45 minutes) and was still seated near the back of the church, and parking was a challenge (on street), but well worth it.

I have been attending this church since the Summer of 2011 and officially became a member in November of 2011. Hands down the best church Ive visited in the northern Virginia area. Several different ministries you can get involved in and the people are pretty friendly. Get there EARLY! If you want to sit in the sanctuary Id recommend atleast 20 minutes bwfore service starts. Especially for 9:30am service.

ASBC primary pastor is on Sabbatical so today we had a guest minister, Dr. F. Bruce Williams who was a fantastic speaker. The congregation was very spirited. We also had communion.

Im a active member of Alfred Street Baptist Church. I have to tell you MY church home is the best!! The services really attack whatever is going on in your life. Real life matters in a biblical sense that you understand and can relate to.

Literally the best church Ive ever attended. Warm greeters. Elevated spiritual message not just basic rhetoric. Singing was moving.

Youll want to arrive early to get parking in the garage..esp for 9:30a worship. 11:30a parking is easier, just keep in mind if worship runs long at the service prior, you may have to loo around. I recommend parking on the street by the rec center. There is always something open over there. Also, worship begins ON TIME. So dont sleep or slouch on that. Finally, come as you are. 7:30 is very traditional. Saturdays at 6p are the most casual (as far as dress). Youll be welcomed no matter what.

Beautiful Church that teaches me something new everytime I visit or wherever Im online viewing services or Bible study. Theyre serving the community and offers all sorts of programs for those who needs help. Amen

I love this historic church for its monetary transparency, profound messages, and the various programs offered to adults and teens geared at helping people help themselves. It is the first church I have visited that offered a program to help women manage the grief and stigma of infertility.

Pastor Wesley is an excellent pastor that preaches and teaches the word so you understand it. In addition to his excellent sermons, his communication with his church members and visitors makes each and every one feel as if they are at home in his world. Not to mention the choirs from the little children to the senior choir have you feeling the spirit of the Lord. ASBC is very well known across the World for their excellent service to the Lord. I went to this church for 7:30 service this morning. It was great! The sermon was so on point. I liked that I went early because I know that place can get packed later in the morning for other services. I felt so good and uplifted when I left and happy I was out within an hour (lets keep it real).Ive researched the church more and Im so happy one of the doctors I work with recommended it. I told her what I was looking for in a church and she instantly said this church. They do a lot of the community and to help people. Theyre all about uplifting their members and the community.

I’ve been going to this church since I was 3 yrs old. You will not be disappointed great choirs, children and teen church, great ministries, great food and they treat you like family. ASBC helps out the community with feed the 5000, Brothers Keeper, and food panty. They are so many different ministries to choice from. You will also hear a wonderful sermon from Pastor Wesley. If you can’t join us on Saturday or Sunday please check us out on live streaming during service times.

Great church and very active in building community. Attended an event of choruses and was impressed with their group as well.

People always claim that you have to have money to attend this church. I have NEVER gotten that impression and I certainly dont have the funds to be considered well off. But I do love the friendliness of this church, the pastor is amazing. I recently joing the dance ministry and I absolutely love that as well.

I was visiting a high school friend for a few days and we were in the planning stages of a reunion of friends next fall. I had heard about her church and its ministry and wanted to see it. So, off we went one evening for a field trip. Its history is rooted in Alexandria and there are sections of the old church that have been incorporated into the new church. There are numerous ministries associated with the church.

Always a relevant word from the Lord is shared. The preacher Dr. Howard John Wesley keeps you awake, attentive and engaged.

Great ambiance..great fellowship..awesome choir and members are very welcoming..

First time at ASBC in person. I really enjoyed my time. I attended the 11:30 service. I parked on the street about an 8 minute walk from the church. Greeted by folks at the door. Truly enjoyed the choir (I believe they are name Trinity-middle aged to elderly choir members). They sung many Gospel classics that had me singing throughout. The message about Ruth was powerful, and you could tell it really hit home with the congregation. One thing that did bother me, the people who were sitting next to me left right before the Communion prayer. I think that’s highly disrespectful and it did cause distraction. Anyways I’m sure that those folks aren’t representative of ASBC. I will be back again!

Praise and worship was awesome and authentic. The word from Acts 2:1-13 really spoke to me about what the Holy Spirit is and what it is not and how to realize when it is present. One thing for sure it does not discriminate. It allows indifferences but unity remains. It allows people to worship and not be judged.

I LOVE THIS CHURCH!!! I’ve always gone to church but this the first time I’ve felt welcomed and not judged. I’ve never been the “churchy” type and my previous churches didn’t like that about me. Here, they welcome everyone and really focus on educating you.

This is the first church that I have ever attended where there is a perfect harmony between what is believed, what is being taught and what is being done. It all makes sense. I have not yet met anyone at Alfred Street Baptist Church (A.S.B.C.) who is not genuinely trying to be the best person they can be. The highest manifestation of faith among the Christian believers at Alfred Street Baptist Church is to be found in the church-wide mandate of limitless, unending service to others. Often in contemporary African American churches there is a scarcity of men in regular, involved attendance. There is no such scarcity at A.S.B.C.. Men are attracted to the mission, the message, the methodology and the morality of A.S.B.C. membership. I am a musician and I find the Music Ministry is especially vibrant at Alfred Street Baptist Church. For me, serving at this church is a perfect fit.

I reallt like that church. The preachings are so inspiring and the fellowship is good. Ive been there once and this was really a great experience. There choir sing so powerfully. Its like earing the angels voice.

I must confess that I listened to as many Bible studies and sermons as possible but I am really disappointed that the archives are seemingly no longer available. The old website was better than this new one. I had planned to listen to all the old sermons too.

The orchestra is pro-fo stop in for mass on a Sunday.. youll like it.

Wonderful church! Easily one of the best parts of my DMV experience. Pastor Wesley is down to earth, but also very knowledgeable and backs up his messages with facts. The choirs are also very good, praise and worship is always on point! People in general are friendly and welcoming, so you feel comfortable attending. I moved out of the area, but I still watch ASBC online on Sunday mornings, because it is just that good. Take time to visit if you can, you wont regret it!

I love my church Alfred Street. You have four opportunities to worship with us. Saturdays at 6PM and Sundays at 7:30AM, 9:30AM, and 11:30PM. It is a place filled with those who have compassion and takes serious showing the love of Christ to all.

The biggest little church! The folks here are the friendliest, helpful, heartwarming, caring people I have ever met. Every time Im in the vicinity I make sure that ASBC is a pitstop. It is good for the soul!

At first I thought they were bougie and rude the lady put her hand in our face to tell us to go over flow.Rude...however after dewelling on the unpleasant situation and realizing that even the enemy uses people that go to church sometimes even works for the church. But if I was turned away that it may be many others too...that really need to see the love of God and instead of looking at the situation as a issue I decided to make it a mission to be a part of the solution God loves everyone no matter if you have on the designer clothes or Walmart specials we all deserve Grace & acceptance and through it all I’ve learned That God has a purpose for me my family and a part of my purpose is tied to Alfred St., Baptist Church.So come be a part of The Father Love direction and grace.And remember be a part of the solution not the problem️sincerely a new member
