We visited here in August, during Covid. They had limited entry but the place was empty. We spent hours wondering around and learning about the different plants and some of the animals that live here. The beat part was that we had the place almost to ourselves. It was so nice and peaceful.I would recommend visiting the gardens and taking some time to relax and enjoy nature.

It was a great way to spend time with my family. Great flower selection with several ponds with wildlife. Of course all the enclosed buildings that had activities were closed due to Covid-19 and you have to purchase your tickets in advance. There were several fountains that were not working along the trail but overall it was a good experience.

This place is pure magic. I am not even a plants person, but you dont have to be to enjoy the beauty in this place. I happened to be here during the annual bonsai show and it was so cool to see all of the different ways people curate their trees. Dont miss the Japanese garden or cactus house!! It sucks they put the horses near the garden though, not a pleasant smell.

Great place if you love nature and seeing all kinds of different species of flowers. I went during the River of Lights which as an event that only occurs in December which I also highly recommend seeing. Attached multiple photos of the River of Lights event, check them out! Definitely better seeing in person. As for normal business here, theres plants of all varieties with lots of information about them. Also inside exhibits as well as outdoors and a gift shop and restaurant on site as well.

Not much has changed in the past 2 years. There was a Japanese flower arrangement exhibit last weekend in a building adjacent to the Japanese loop. The grounds are kept nicely trimmed. The newest bugarium is okay but there is already a bug exhibit in Santa Fe with more bugs. More unique items in the future would be great to make the cost of the garden worth it, especially for out of state residents.

This is a beautiful place to visit during Christmas. They have what is called Rivers of Light. River of Lights is New Mexicos largest all-original holiday light show with over 550 sculptures and millions of twinkling lights!. It is a very family friendly atmosphere. The weather is cool but enjoyable. You need to keep an eye on your children as it is night time and there are many exciting places kids may easily wander. Some are like mazes. Finding a parking during Christmas season may not be easy. Going early may be advisable.

The gardens are beautiful this time of year. The trains are not running. If you go to the shark reef cafe you can see the sharks and fish. Last time I went the wanted my to make a purchase if we wanted to sit in the cafe or patio. There was a sign saying a purchase was required and it was for the safety of the customers. I do not see how paying for a overpriced drink keeps me safe.

Such a cool place to visit! I never thought a garden would be so fun. They have a lot to see and do, I only visited the botanical garden, but the aquarium, the lake and zoo are right next door. That was more than enough. I ended up walking almost 5 miles throughout the park whick holds 6 or so themed gardens. My favorite was the japanese garden with its huge koi pond and interesting architectural details, but theres also a farm with a few animals and a cool giant garden where you get A Bugs Life experience. The whole place is wheelchair accessible (was $10 to rent there!) just be ready for a bit of a workout if youre doing the pushing. It can get a bit hilly in parts. I chauffeured my little grandma who is a major plant lady and she extremely enjoyed it. It was super educational, fun and visually stunning as an adult, but kids will love running around too and checking out the bug and butterfly exhibits. My advice is to wear sunblock, you could be there for hours (I wanted to see everything so I was there about 2.5 hours) and if you have allergies take an allergy pill before. It was practically raining pollen when I went in early May. If you are in Albuquerque its a must-see!

This is a fun place to go to. They have a lot of different zones of environments that you can go and check out. My favorite the bug exhibit. They have a bunch of different bugs and some other cool creatures there. The next is the kids area. Its built like a castle and has a bunch of fun things to adventure and run around on. The last thing I suggest seeing is the big glass enclosure that has different environments (desert, Mediterranean). There is a train that connects the botanical/aquarium and the zoo, which would make for a fun day. They have lots of cool events but the big one is during the Christmas season is the River of Lights. Lots of cool light figurines (see pic). Its a great event to go see!

We love visiting the Botanic Garden anytime of the year, but it is especially peaceful, though maybe not as brilliantly colored, in the winter. A walk through the bare-branched Japanese garden to gaze at the koi and waterfall is restorative to the soul. We stroll through the Mediterranean conservatory or the desert biome building to warm up a bit and enjoy the brightly colored plants within. The Giants Garden is inspiring to the imagination and the Train Garden is fun, too (though the trains only run Wednesday to Sunday). An excellent outing for a family or for a date!

A beautiful little botanical garden with a variety of plants. It is not the biggest botanical garden, but you can easily spend a day wandering around and looking at the plants. They also have a wisteria covered area that is known as one of the best places to get married in all of Albuquerque.Of particular note is the Curandera Garden, which hosts a variety of native New Mexican plants that have been used for medicinal uses throughout the years. The Childrens Fantasy Garden, which sees you embarking on a journey where you are shrunken down to around an inch high, and you can explore a garden filled with massive statues, explore a giant pumpkin, take selfies with ants the size of a dog, and see other larger than life sculptures. The Japanese Garden is also a standout area, which has a beautiful large pond with tons of koi fish in it, running streams with bridges, a zen garden and beautiful cherry blossoms every spring.
